Here’s the kind of day President Trump is having. The New York Senate just passed a bill to assure that people who are pardoned by Donald Trump can still be charged with crimes in the Empire State. The bill also authorizes the State to turn over Trump’s tax returns to the United States Congress. His son,Donald Jr. was just subpoenaed to testify before the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee, presumably because they believe he perjured himself when he last appeared before them. The Speaker of the House, who has been reluctant to discuss opening an impeachment inquiry, declared that the president is becoming “self-impeachable” through his relentlessly obstructive acts. And the House Judiciary Committee found the Attorney General of the United States to be in contempt of Congress.

The committee’s 24-16 contempt vote, taken after hours of debate that featured apocalyptic language about the future of American democracy, marked the first time that the House has taken official action to punish a government official or witness amid a standoff between the legislative and executive branch. The Justice Department decried it as an unnecessary and overwrought reaction designed to stoke a fight.

Did I mention that everyone is laughing at Trump after the New York Times exposed him on Tuesday night as a #BillionDollarLoser and a faillionaire?

If you are going to have days like this, I guess it’s good to be the president of the United States and completely above the law.
