I’ve been a bad blogger this week. My son and I are visiting Philadelphia for the summer as well typically do. Dadlife takes up a LOT of my time. On top of that, I’ve been searching for work, and finally picked up a new freelance position as a ghost writer, with 10,000 words due every two weeks. I hammered out two chapters this week, and have another two pending for next week.

My visit to Philly coincided with Hair Furor’s Nuremberg-in-North-Carolina nostalgia party which, like everything the Walking Pile Of Diarrhea says or does, became a topic of discussion in our household. You can’t even discuss the weather without the dude’s name coming up.

My dad, who is a subscriber to our site and despises our “president”, had an interesting observation about Donnie Two-Scoops’ sudden reversal on this particular slogan. He asked that I share it here. It’s a good one, so please read on.

“Many people seem to think that Donald Trump has tried to distance himself from the shouts of “send her back” at his recent rally because a small number of Republicans have told him that he went too far,” Steve says. “I do not believe that this is the case.”

Donald Trump is an expert at name calling and sloganeering. At finding a person’s weakness to attack. At finding a taunt that is hard to respond to. I believe the real reason he has tried to back off is that he believes he may have inadvertently given Democrats a uniting slogan of their own. He may be trying to put the cat back in the bag. He may be too late.

The one thing that unites all Democrats is the belief that Donald Trump has to be defeated. Certainly most Democrats know that this time it is vital to vote for the Democratic nominee whether it is Biden or Elizabeth Warren. The alternative is unthinkable.

I think ANY democrat, whatever their stand on impeachment, or Medicare-for-All, or border security, agrees that it is time to send Donald Trump back to the racist, misogynist, un-American hole that he crawled out of. Crowds would eagerly pick up the chant of “Send Him Back”. I would be happy to wear a (blue) “Send Him Back” hat.

All together now. SEND HIM BACK.

It’s a good idea, I think. It’s a unifying message that cuts through all the other arguments that Democrats and progressives are constantly engaged in. It’s also as catchy and easy to remember as “send her back” or “lock her up.” Try it yourself, it’s a lot of fun!

I think these hats would sell like hotcakes. Some enterprising strategist (maybe my dad) should run it up the flagpole for any of the current presidential contenders. It’s so simple, it just might work.
