Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Grand Canyon painting. The photo that I’m using (My own from a recent visit just a few weeks ago.) is seen directly below. I stood a this particular viewpoint and thought about how I would paint this scene, cropping the much wider original to the photo you see here.
I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6×6 inch canvas.
When last seen the painting appears as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I have now painted in my sketched pencil lines, focusing on the butte just above dead center. Everything leads to that point. Note also the sky in preliminary paint.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
