Hello again painting fans.
This week I will be continuing with the Grand Canyon painting. The photo that I’m using (My own from a recent visit just a few weeks ago.) is seen directly below. I stood a this particular viewpoint and thought about how I would paint this scene, cropping the much wider original to the photo you see here.
I’ll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6×6 inch canvas.
When last seen the painting appears as it does in the photo seen directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I’ve now added some color to the remaining white areas. Out in front is a vast green section backed by brown lit portions and blue shadowed sections. You can begin to see that central butte, the focus of this scene. I can remember thinking about that butte being the center of this scene back in September as I stood near the canyon edge.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
