During the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, NRATV host Dan Bongino famously said, “My life is all about owning the libs now” and called the Democrats “pure, unadulterated evil.” Bongino served in the NYPD from 1995 to 1999 and then as a Secret Service agent who was detailed to both George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He also ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2012, 2014, and 2016.
To get an idea of just how much a piece of shit this guy is, he wrote a book about his time as a Secret Service agent and it was so bad that extreme right-winger Ed Rogers had the following to say about it:
The N.Y. Post’s “Page Six” ran an article today about former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino’s new book about President Obama. The article quotes Bongino as he portrays himself as some kind of noble whistleblower from within the Obama bubble. Gag me. Republicans and patriots everywhere should boycott Bongino’s book in every way: Don’t buy it, don’t read it, don’t quote it. I think writing such a book is extremely bad form, and I am certainly one Republican who will do nothing to support the man who wrote this book. I think he has disqualified himself for any job where loyalty, trust and fidelity are important.
Bongino has brought shame to the Secret Service and done a disservice to the president of the United States.
On Wednesday at 10am, the House Judiciary Committee is going to hold a hearing on the policing situation in our country, and the Democrats have invited Philonese Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, as well as civil rights attorney Ben Crump, the heads of the National Urban League and NAACP legal defense fund, and other experts in race relations. The House Republicans invited some pastor who serves on Trump’s Faith Advisory board, Angela Underwood Jacobs, the sister of an Oakland cop who was killed during the recent riots there, and Dan Bongino.
Bongino has been critical of the cops who killed George Floyd, but that’s not why he’s been invited.” In a recent Fox and Friends appearance, Bongino predicted that it will be “catastrophic” and “people will die” if there is any defunding of metro police departments. The guy is prone to nutty conspiracy theories and once suggested that Robert Mueller knew his investigation was a hoax within a month of beginning his work. What he knows about public policy can fit in a thimble, but his job is not to help form policy. He’s invited to testify so that he can run interference for the cops and “own the libs.”
This is all the House Republicans know how to do.
