Minot Air Force Base will have a new commander soon.
At a press conference Top Officials announced Colonel Bruce Emig has been relieved of duty.
(Maj. Gen. Richard Netwon, Assist. Dep. Chief of Staff) “Minot’s Wing Commander and Maintance Group Commander and Barksdale Operations Group Commander recieved administrative action and were relieved of command. The Commander of Air Combat also took four other specific actions to date at the group and squadron level.”
Along with Commanders being relieved Newton said that airman, a number he said as less than a hundred, ranging from Lieutenant Colonels on down, have been reprimanded.
● Coverage BBC in Europe: 70 men demoted and will never be permitted to work at an airbase with nuclear storage and transport.
In late August, reported by the Military Times, a US Air Force B-52 bomber flew from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana with six AGM advanced cruise missiles, each of which was armed with a W-80-1 nuclear warhead.
HI Oui, Now my question is, what ever happened to those nukes that landed at Barksdale? Where are they now? No one has ever followed up on this as far as I know.
Good to see ya again…and as always, you are right on top of this.

See my previous diary. These cruise missiles with hardened head and a small payload are considered nuclear bunker busters(?). Nice to have in the arsenal at Diego Garcia or Guam in the Pacific, a bit closer to Iran than any US base. See also recent visit to Iran by Russia’s president Putin. I won’t be surprised if we see an “Iran missile crisis” similar to Kennedy’s “Cuba crisis” in 1962 and a confrontation with Russia and China (Myanmar). Just think what this will do for the price of oil and profit for their buddies (corporations and states).
Building up Air Force strike capabilities for an attack on Iran? DOD is not granted funds to prepare an adventure against Iran, so just increase your Air Force and Navy capabilities in Iraq and the Persian Gulf.
Have been quite busy, good to visit now and then … (((Brenda!))).

Outside the local city supermarket I was approached by an Iranian refugee with a show map of color photo’s of abuse by the Iranian Islamic regime. Three of his brothers were executed by hanging for political opposition. His organization is trying to raise funds for lawyers to defend imprisoned Iranians in an effort to avoid executions.
I talked to him for a while and he was very sympathetic. His project was an advocacy for human rights in the region. I wanted to get an honest answer from him on issues of many opposition groups funded and supported by the US government to overthrow the regime by violent means. So I specifically asked him: “Should the US attack Iran for sake of democracy?” He answer was a resounding: “No! In case of war the people will suffer tremendously. His organization wants to strengthen Iranians to overthrow the regime from within.”
