We just went and saw The Lorax, and I can understand why the right-wingers are up in arms about it being environmentalist propaganda. It’s basically one long advertisement against deforestation, corporatism, and greed. It was even a bit insufferable for my tastes, although Finn really enjoyed the musical parts.

On another note, it really is kind of instructive to see how desperate some pundits are to believe that there is an iota of seriousness and sincerity in Paul Ryan’s budget plans.

If the Lorax speaks for the trees, we need some magical creature to speak for the mathematicians.
