I made the mistake of watching 60 Minutes last night. John Boehner has a nice family but he blubbers too much. It’s ridiculous. I don’t even know what he’s crying about. That the son of a bar owner can shamelessly serve corporate interests and become Speaker of the House? He should be kicking himself for forgetting where he came from. And I don’t care that he rejects the word “compromise.” All that matters is that the Republicans understand that they are there to serve the banks.
During the financial reform debate, Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL) — who will become chairman of the House Financial Services Committee in the 112th Congress — continually criticized the reform effort…
…Bachus, in an interview Wednesday night, said he brings a “main street” perspective to the committee, as opposed to Wall Street. “In Washington, the view is that the banks are to be regulated, and my view is that Washington and the regulators are there to serve the banks,” he said.
At least they’re honest about it.
