Might be a move to shore up his Xtrian-teabagger base in Iowa and a few other early caucus/primary states. (Don’t believe he’s sent her out to stump for him in NH which wouldn’t be such a savvy move for him.) It could also be an attempt to scoop up more Iowa fundies that have been leaning towards Cruz and Carson. Palin was out there for Joni Ernst in her 2014. In a multi-candidate GOP primary, Ernst always led in the polls but her highest poll number was 36%. She won the primary with 56%.
Precisely. Even Trump is holding his nose at Palin’s wild, helter-skelter delivery and absolute lack of content. You can see it in his body language as he stands next to her in that vid. However, he’s going for the kill. Right now. He’s at what nationally? About 36%? Just like Ernst. There are another 20 points worth of Palin idiots out there. He wants them. She’ll bring them out of the woodwork. An idiot vote counts just as much as does any other.

P.S. Palin looks a little…swollen, doesn’t she? I know some serious drinkers who look like that when they get into their late 40s/early 50s. Lots of them.

Contrary to appearances, SarahPac employs a speechwriter that puts together her garbled presentations. She may throw in a couple of lines in the moment, but she doesn’t do improv except to skip words and punctuation.
A showman gives audiences what they want and only holds his nose if that’s what the audience wants. Palin mostly fell very short with that audience and that, and not Palin, may have been what he was responding to. Or maybe he was just gloating because he nabbed her and Cruz did (a sad for Cruz). Ivana may have made the deal with Palin for him — an offer to troll through her wardrobe closets and select a few old pieces. Maybe the sparkly thing she was wearing was a down payment.
Palin lost a lot of weight when she went Hollywood — to me, looks more like she put the weight back on than bloated. However, once within celebrity orbits, all the women and most of the men have “work” done. Hillary has probably been having nips, tucks, and plump work done for at least a decade. Her fluctuating weight makes the “work” less stable and shorter lived.
Maybe it’s because I haven’t done TV in a few years, but the little I have seen of his new show clips (and it not like he’s been burning up the political blogosphere) have left me ‘meh’. I SO enjoyed the continuous implied smerk of the Colbert character. Others have noted that he seems to blossom in these alter egos. He’s such a creative giant, it will be interesting to see how his stint in Big Time plays out.
That and he had a dedicated audience on The Colbert Report, whereas now he is just one of, what, like 12 “late show” hosts?
I don’t begrudge or judge, but in a way, he is of course much tamer as a “late show” host because he has a larger audience. He can still poke fun, but he has to be careful to not rile up the pigpeople too much.
