“Start reading up on Bush Ranger Maurice “Hank” Greenberg,” writes Jan Tuckley, founder/moderator of Progressive Talk.
There are the June 28 headlines: “AIG’s Greenberg cancels $2 bln share transfer to wife.” CBS Market Watch reported, “Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, the ousted chief executive of American International Group, unwound a March transfer of 41.4 million company shares to his wife, Corinne, on Tuesday.”
Beyond the headlines, there’s “Target: AIG
Fraud probe of Maurice ‘Hank’ Greenberg intensifies” at From The Wilderness (paid subscription only):
[American International Group is the latest in a series of large-scale enterprises whose fraudulent accounting practices have recently seen the light of day. AIG is a very big fish, not only because of the quantities of money involved but because of long-standing connections to US intelligence. This is deep stuff, reaching back to the Vietnam War, the Philippines, and the post-1989 looting of Russia. Chin provides abundant sources and links – a timely exposé. – JAH]
Jan Tuckley quotes White House For Sale‘s dossier on Greenberg:
Word on the street is that insurance giant AIG is about to collapse at freefall speed, 93 stories in 10 seconds. Just like a controlled demolition. Greenberg has already resigned from the AIG board chair, and reportedly transferred some 2.5 billion in personal assets to his loving and faithful wife. …

What I know about thsi is what spitting in the wind is like; however, I think several years ago, this got some attention and has not dropped of the screen since. I think it it has definate connection to Bush and the whole family if not mistaken. And if not mistaken it goes further down into the guts of the insurance company frauds of other companies.
I thought that Spitzer was leading the investigation. Recall seeing some articles about Greenberg at CBSMarketwatch.com. Greenberg is out as CEO now and the transfer was defeated. I assume the investigation is ongoing.
I also thing not only the NYAG was investigating this group, but this goes way back with the companies they insured. Way back to the agriculture areas of things. I think this goes way way back…May I be a blatent to say carlyle group too.
What caught my eye was that Jan mentioned it this morning and, since Jan listens to and reads vastly different media than most of us, I found that telling.
Sure wish we could see that Into/Wilderness article.
