   talk about karmic coincidences…the palin family chronicle’s are already on the telly:

   Faith-based “Secret Life of the American Teenager”

   The ostensible horror at the center of the show is an unplanned pregnancy. The first time Amy Jurgens (Shailene Woodley) has sex, or apparently even considers it, she gets herself into trouble with Ricky (Daren Kagasoff), a sophomore she barely knows. Ricky is a callous drummer who navigates his suburban high school as if it were a wing added to Hugh Hefner’s house. No lively sex drive is permitted to originate from a healthy place.

   “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” comes from Brenda Hampton, creator of “7th Heaven,” a drama of Christian values similarly steeped in moralizing and distinctly creepy forms of titillation.

   I think i might watch the telly tonight for the latest chapter of Bizzaro World, courtesy of the GOP.  As I read about Palin’s web of lies and deceit re her record vis-a-vis Ted Stevens not to mention her daughter’s unfortunate pregnancy, I feel my hold on reality slipping ever so gently.

   The world drifts toward nuclear conflagration and the Republicans serve up a farce. The Democrats busy themselves, meanwhile, with business as usual clinging to outworn doctrines concerning NATO’s expansion to the east and the ever deepening war in Afghanistan.

   Whatever happened to real politic?  Or have dreams and fantasies replaced hard cold analysis?

   I know I evidence strong emotional support for the importance of naps.
