Welcome to Friday Foto Flogging, a place to share your photos and photography news. We were inspired by the folks at European Tribune who post a regular Friday Photoblog series to try the same on this side of the virtual Atlantic. We also thought foto folks would enjoy seeing some other websites so each week we’ll introduce a different photo website.
This Month’s Theme: “O” for October courtesy of JimF. Anything connected in any way

Dogs make an O, ha ha!
And O the bird whisperer!
Great photos once again you guys!
And beautiful fall colors too!
I love the explosion of colors in O’s and the Dutch master’s feeling of Andi’s snail shell.
🙂

Sunset Moon
Love the cottonwood smiley faces!
I love the top photo. I think it will keep a smile on my face all day.
Nifty sunset too.
Great contrast between your dog’s serious face and the Hanna-Barbara-ish faces in the wood.
Wow, Happi is all grown up now. 🙂
Love the smiley faces and the softness of the sunset moon.
Some completely unrelated O or? OH! pics.
Love the ‘oh my’ face of the squirrel and the OMG face of the
devilcat.Oh, familiar?
That last shot makes me very grateful I’m not a mouse;-)
Love the colours and activity in the first photo, and the squirrel face is a great moment captured.
I think you’ve got the essence of Brown County fall here. Lovely set!
Thanks. I could have titled the set “How I Spent My First Fall Out of School.”
Beautiful colours Jim — especially that middle photo. Wow!
I`m back after an unwelcome absence.
Here are some “O”`s for you.

Hi Jim,
Love the silly-mander.
So glad to have you back.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the blenny is just aching to come here and visit me.
Great set — after the blenny, “Big O” is my favorite.
AndiF,
Yes, I do believe he`s planning a road trip.
Big “O” was quite the production in its creation, down to the shadow of the magnifying glass.
It`s good to be back for me too.
Now if I can figure out how to import all my bookmarks & addresses from an old drive, I`ll be a real happy camper.
I think we’d better find a water route for him.
Great to see your photos, KH, and know that you’re still kickin’
Quite the “October Guest” there! Bet the youngsters are shrieking when they discover that one!
Hey NDD,
Its great to see you also.
Happy looks great by the two smiley faces.
Please extend my regards to Ms NDD.
Thanks KH, I’ll do that, as Ms should arrive here late Saturday night.
Its great to see your lovely and (sometimes) unusual photos here again. Really appreciate your views.
And OHHH! is pretty sensual and sexy!
Great to see you back in the flog Head!
Wonderful set of shots – love how colourful and imaginative they are. Definitely missed seeing the glimpses of your world.

Big spenders in town

Nice reds and yellows in there. Of course yesterday’s rain and today’s wind have removed a lot of them. Your neighbors ought to get together with NDD’s.
You reign as the Tourmaster of Brown County continues unchallenged.
The pano came out great and I really like the looks your neighbors.
Late arrivals from this afternoon
October zinnias? Nah… no way.

Nature’s skydivers

Lovely fall scenes. The panorama is fantastic, and look at all those people in town. Looks like a popular place!

… Orick, CA:
… Oscar Niemeyer:
… the Oregon coast:
… owls:
… out the window:
… Osnabrück, Germany:
… organs:
… orchids:
… Oslo in October:
This was fun. I’ll be back tomorrow with some current October shots from this weekend, so please check back.
And it was a lot of fun for the viewer too.
Like ’em all but the Oscar Niemeyer shot was especially fine with its sweeping angles, color, and great use of reflection.
… Occupy Frankfurt. Took a few photos at Occupy Frankfurt in front of the European Central Bank. All photos can be viewed on my flickr account.
Glad to see the OWS movement is growing. Or that the US is catching on to what the rest of the world has known for some time.
It’s amazing — and heartening — to see how far this has spread.
P.S. This is one of the few European places you’ve posted pictures of that I’ve been. I spent two weeks in Bad Soden for work and I went into the city to visit some of the museums over the weekend — I really liked the Museum of Applied Arts and Craft.
I want to hear that organ! It must cause eargasms if it sounds as good as it looks.
Love all the reflections too.
I wandered into an old cathedral in Kaiserslautern years ago and the organist happened to be practicing that afternoon. I actually had chills and goose bumps, no kidding. Eargasm is absolutely right!
Wonderful collection, Sven! The Norwegian woman is really interesting. ask, are you familiar with that one?
Love the window dressing in Osnabrück, Germany, too.
Hi ID,
Only came across this comment just now.
Yes, I am very much familiar with that statue.
It is one of some 200 in Frogner Park which contains the Vigeland Sculpture Park.
My apt in Oslo was close so I’ve had many evening strolls through the sculpture park.
Wow! What a fascinating place! I could be happily lost in there for days. Thanks for the interesting clip.
It’s a great park!
Here’s some more sculpture porn – the music is of course “In the Hall of the Mountain King” (“I Dovregubbens Hall”) from the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg.
(My daughter is named from another piece of the Peer Gynt Suite.)
Gorgeous set of images Sven – love them all! Especially love the colour, lines and curves of the auto in the first image.
Wow. These are all really great! Thanks to everyone for posting.
Good to see you, KH!
Let’s see if I can’t make it back with pix.
Hi ww. Hope so!
Leaf
Definitely fitting for October. How are the rest of the leaves fairing there – many down or still on the trees?
There are many left on the trees but the rate of descent is increasing daily. The leafpeepers shouldn’t wait much longer to see some color.
After you took that photo, was the leaf trampled by hundreds of runners?
Heh. I’m actually thinking of doing another 5k next Sunday.
I like the way the stones set off the leaf and make it feel a little like a mosaic. It’s a nice bit of found art.
Thanks, it’s actually my front path.
Persistent little troll, aren’t you.
