a new cafe.
The heat came on here this morning…it’s a bit crisp outside this morning.
Crisp? It was 41 degrees here! Ice on the windshield! Yikes!
Egads! I don’t think we’ve had our first frost yet, although it has gotten decidedly cooler in the last week.
Great walking weather!
Almost great skiing weather too. 😉
I feel so special….thank you!
What have you been up to lately?
It’s rained yesterday afternoon. It rained last night It’s rained this morning.

I guess that means your weather is headed our way next. Ugh.
Ah, it was lovely. We might even get some more before it clears off later today. But good news for you … then it’s blue skies and temps in the 70s.
But at least it’s nice today!
It’s starting to cloud up a little here…at least that will make it easier to head out for a walk and do my photography class homework this afternoon.
The rains have passed and its now sunny and pleasant. Guess I’ll go plant a few yard signs. The ground should be softened up a little and less like concrete!
Wow, you guys have seasons.
It`s about 80 degrees here on the coast in Malibu.
The huge Red Tail Hawk is riding the air rising from the heat in the canyon between the back deck & the ocean waves, which I can hear
in stereo, being on an isthmus. At night the stereo symphony, is joined by the the harmonics of barking seals & yipping coyotes.
The capper is that I`m home, taking a few days away from my project which now looks like this.
I included a special one for andif.
You can click on any one to go to a few more in this collection.
For Andif
The waterscapes look very inviting. I’ve always wanted a little waterfall next to the porch so I could just sit and listen to it.
Well let me expand on that thought for you.
You can use these for different moods.
There are more images connected to any of these.
These are from three or four different ponds & falls.
I probably have 9/10 sets of different pond images.
Thank you! I personally prefer the more natural looking ones, but they are all lovely. I can imagine sitting next to them, listening to their music.
I do love that pond, Head. I’d like to go sit by it with a book and just let the hours drift past.
Beautiful photos!
Thank you Boran2,
If you see anything you`d like to use as a subject, you`d most certainly be welcome to anything. (hint, hint)
Not to mention, inflating my ego to huge proportions.
I am loving the creativity in this cycle: Yes We Carve
Ha! Ha! Now I’ve seen it all;-)
I haven’t done a jack-o-lantern since the kids were little. Maybe its time to do another.

A very impressive carving. Quite amazing actually.
Hey Manny, I like the photo from the stadium.
thanks, knucklehead.
which stadium photo? (brain is not firing too well today)
The Fenway Park one where I commented that the image was an out of the park home run.

ahhhhhh, gotcha. thanks 🙂
That’s really excellent. You got my vote. 😉
thx, Andi. There’s a new one up that is amazing.
Wow. Very cool.
i needed something to do to jolt my creative side this week 😉
Adorable AND talented. It’s unfair, really.
🙂
That’s amazing!
thanks, o. hope you’re doing good.
I miss Family Man.
I just wanted to say that.
Yes and refinish69 too.

Thanks for the link, that was great. I am a huge Sigur Rós fan, their music is amazing and it was put to good use in that wonderful video.
That was really beautifully done.
Good morning everyone! I’m off to tweak my database some more.
And I’m off to walk — I always like it when my public servants work a lot harder than I do. 😉
I know I’ll come to the end of tweaking someday, won’t I? I’m afraid to work the math on how long it takes to tweak 20K records. Of course, some records need considerably more tweaking than others.
They needle you forever. 😉
Time to relax … well almost.

Good morning!
That looks so peaceful and relaxing.
Time for a trip to the Berkshires again, I guess.
Sounds like a good plan — it must be peak color there.
It’s probably peak this week, but since swimmer is back for a long weekend we’ll wait till next week.
Well have fun with swimmer. I imagine she won’t be like my sister who came home after three weeks at college and announced to us all that “You haven’t lived till you’ve been to college”. 😉
LOL!!
Yeah and we’ve been picking on her for saying it for 43 years.
It’s still kind of dark here but the dogs are insisting it’s way past time to go. See ya and have a great time with swimmer.
Enjoy your walk!
The foto flog is up … c’mon over and share some fotos.
Gorgeous colors, Andi. I think we’re a little behind you with the leaves turning…enjoy your walk!
Ask, I hope you have fun with swimmer this weekend. Will she be arriving tonight?
I can’t believe it’s already Friday (and nearly the middle of the month to boot). Where did the week go?
Good morning!
She comes in around noon and will stay till Tuesday.
My first week back to work for some time – glad it’s Friday!
I’m glad it’s a little longer than just Sat-Sun.
Wow-back to work! I hope the week has gone fairly well, and there have been some positive changes at the office recently.
I need to call curly and tell her I got my yarn for our upcoming sweater knit-a-long…
Not much positive changes. I’ll give you an update during the knit-a-long.
Have a good weekend! We’re off to Cape May.
and long weekends (I get Monday off).
Hope everybody has a great one.
Good morning!
Good for you, we don’t 🙁
We get all the national holidays off, except for MLK’s birthday and veteran’s day. I think I’m the only person I know who doesn’t work for the government that gets columbus day and president’s day off.
Well, that’s great.
Our arrangement is also quite generous. Ten holidays a year – a mix of international religious and US traditional holidays.
Yeah my company’s pretty good too — plus those holidays we also get the day after Thanksgiving and either the day before or day after Christmas off. Gawd, I do love thinking about days off. 😀
As a government worker I don’t do much even when I’m actually at work. Everyday is a holiday for civil servants. 😉
Yep, when we do occasionally drag ourselves into the office, we mostly lay around guzzling at that public trough;-)
If only we public servants could get up to that $700 billion public trough. Oops, I forgot. That’s reserved for CAPITALISTS.
so I slept all the way till 5:30. woo.
Happy take-it-easy day to me and everybody else who has the day off.

I’m jealous! I worked a full day yesterday, and still haven’t finished my project…and we’re off to the Deadheads for Obama benefit in State College this afternoon, so it will be a shortish but anxiety-filled workday for me.
Are you planning to spend the day basking in the warm autumn sun? 🙂
I’m looking forward to waiting till the sun actually rises before taking my walk — this is probably the last weekday morning walk till next spring. 🙁
Sunrise is at 7:53 so I guess I’ll go get ready.
Hope you end up not having to work too hard today.
I’m resting up from another weekend political rally. It was a very well attended pitch-in supper and the home cookin’ was delicious!
I received an updated voter registration list Friday and it looks like our voters have increased by over 7% since June 1st.
I heard on WFIU this morning that we are one of the counties that has more people registered than eligible voters. You wanna check to see if Grandma Barnes is on that list? 😉
Mr. Grandma Barnes went by the nickname “Wash” (pronounced Warsh). According to legend, he did something that so annoyed his wife Mary, that she divided the cabin down the middle and assigned a side to each of them. She never set foot on his side again, nor he hers. When Wash died, the undertaker had to move his body out a window to avoid passing through Mary’s side of the cabin;-)
From The Ballad of Wash & Mary Barnes
I’ll tell you the story of Wash and Mary Barnes
Wash crafted his brooms and his spell-binding yarns
Mary planted flowers by the gate and the well
Why they didn’t speak to each other – nobody could tell
Wash died so quiet alone in his chair
Mary sent word to me and just left him there
She’d not let him pass through her front door
I had to take him out his window to my buckboard
Miller & Klug, 1997
I have the Liars Bench CD that has that song on it and I think every song on it is pure genius and pure pleasure.
We are big fans too, not in the least because my brother Dave does guitar & vocals on it. His house is nearly in sight of where the old Barnes cabin was.
Actually, I am all set with work and finished for the day! Even my pesky tax paperwork is done now!! 🙂
Now to get ready for the drive up to happy valley…
Yay for being finished!
I had a great walk. It’s was nice to get to take my time on a week day. Now if only I could do this every day.
Today’s a gorgeous day for walking, too. Supposed to hit near 80 here…
