I decided to add a little poetic structure to my liberal outrage. I hope you’ll join in and contribute some fun of your own!
Limerick #1
The Generals this week gave a jolt
Re Rumsfeld, they had to revolt:
“He led us astray
and into harm’s way
Fire Rumsfeld. He’s too much a dolt.”
More below the fold….
More Limericks:
There once was a Wilson named Joe
To Niger he was told me must go
When he found only lies
Novak dropped Plame’s disguise
All for saying WMD were not so
The lies re Iraq were so whopping
In DC the shoes are heard dropping
Scooter Libby’s indicted
The left is united
And Bush? Well, his forehead he’s mopping!
Haiku:
With Bunker Busters
He plans to subject Iran
To McDonald’s fries
Ala Emily Dickinson or “The Yellow Rose of Texas” (they read the same):
The noose is slowly tightening
On Bush’s biggest lies
His race to war was frightening
The votes for him – unwise
On his hands are deaths of many
Innocent and ours, alike
To preserve his precious penny
And yet we still don’t strike
Will Fitzgerald get convictions?
Will we learn the truth at last?
Or will we be fed more fictions
`Til some thirty years have past?
Will the NSA spy scandal
Be the end of Bush’s reign?
If it doesn’t, it’s a scandal
And we’ll all be feeling pain.
Bush has led us to the devil
Sacrificed us to the beast
His end of term I’ll revel
His power thus decreased
When will TV lose its hold
When will couch potatoes rise
If we march the paths of old
We could hasten power’s demise!
Here’s one that was done jointly in response to this same post at Kos:
There once was a Dick from Wyoming (Virt)
Who hunted his friends in the gloaming (me)
He drew fast and shot (shpilk)
poor Harry he caught (me)
All this while the beer’s still a-foaming! (nehark)
The American people were sleeping.
While Facism it came acreeping.
The corporate might
And the loss of our rights
Failed to stir so much as a peeping.
Wow – isn’t that the truth.
There once was a fascist regime
Which spied on everyone, it seemed
Except for the terrorists
About whom they could care less
Just like the pajamahadeen
There once was a “historical” briefing
Through which the president should have been leafing
But just like he can’t lead
The man cannot even read
Thus a whole nation was left grieving
There once was a pathological liar
Of bullshit, the man never tired
He knew naught of shame
And he should have been named
Fibby Lyington McPantsonfire
Thanks for the morning laugh.
And can I ask that if people agree with these sentiments, they step forward and sign this?
