Paul Krugman slices and carves up Bernie.

Paul Krugman has had enough of Bernie Sanders, and quite frankly, so have I. In his latest opinion piece for the N.Y. Times, Krugman makes the charge that Sanders has overstayed his welcome, and is turning a once noble and productive campaign into a circus, consisting of whining and crying over the fact that he isn’t winning.

Over the past few weeks, as Hillary Clinton has been winning state after state, and pulling farther ahead in delegates, Sanders has been carping at the fact that Clinton’s victories have been mainly because of those conservative southern voters, voters somehow not being able to vote, but his biggest complain is that those, evil, nasty super-delegates who have gone to Hillary, are somehow corrupt and shouldn’t be allowed. Then to prove how much of a hypocrite he really is, those same super-delegates that he claims are corrupt are the ones he is trying so hard to get, even though he is 3 million votes behind Hillary, and add to the fact that Hillary is an actual Democrat, compared to Bernie, who became one because he had too.
According to Krugman, Bernie Sanders is not facing reality, and any credibility and goodwill he has had in the past, is rapidly disappearing. Bernie keeps saying he is going all the way to the convention in Philadelphia, and he thinks he can still win, even though in all honesty, the contest has been over for a while.

Paul Krugman is right, we have seen an epic descent into whining and crying by Sanders. worthy of a 4 year old child kicking and screaming because he had to finish his dinner before he can go out and play. Krugman wonders if anyone can stop him before it’s too late?? I, for one, have my doubts.

Bernie camp in total disaray!!

After last night’s disaster in New York, the Bernie Sanders for president campaign finds itself on life support, flailing in the wind, trying desperately to keep it together, while Hillary chugs towards the finish line.

First off we have Jeff Weaver trolling for votes, trying to convince himself Bernie can still win, also trying in vain to get super-delegates to switch. We have Tad Devine going on Twitter saying the Sanders team will assess where they stand after next Tuesday, then almost as quickly, backtracking, saying they march onward towards Cleveland.

Then we have Sanders himself, not even in New York for the vote, making a speech in Pennsylvania, then hopping on his plane to Vermont, stranding the press
corps, then having an emergency meeting to discuss whatever.
Bernie Sanders has had a rotten 24 hours, and it doesn’t look like things are going to get better anytime soon. Hillary is ahead in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, with Rhode Island and Delaware up in the air because we haven’t had any polling there. After next Tuesday, Hillary will certainly pad her lead in delegates with around 2100 of them, only needing 283 more to clinch the nomination.

I’m not telling Bernie to drop his campaign. That’s up to him, and if he wants to continue, then he will, but even he now must realize the fat lady is warming up. Hillary will be the nominee. Bernie has a decision to make. Does he drop out and unify behind Hillary, like Hillary had to do in 2008 behind Obama, or does he go on, and risk blowing up the party, and electing Trump, who would be a total disaster for the country. His supporters will no doubt want to go on, but the calls for him to drop out, especially after next Tuesday will get louder and louder.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) calls out Bernie for gun stance

Fallout from Bernie Sanders interview with the NY Daily news, comes from Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who thinks Sanders is wrong for not supporting the Sandy Hook lawsuit against gun manufacturers, and therefore disqualifies him from the Democratic nomination.

Murphy, who supports Hillary Clinton for president, says Democrats can’t support someone who supports gun manufacturer immunity.

Murphy went on to say “restoring liability for sellers is not the same as restoring liability for gun makers”.

“For Sanders to say that the Sandy Hook families should be barred from court, even if the weapon was negligently made, is wrong”.
“Democrats cannot nominate a candidate who believes that toy gun makers should be held to a higher legal standard than real gun makers”.

Sanders response was an affirmation of what he said earlier. “While I do believe that gun manufactures and dealers should be able to be sued when they know that guns are going into the hands of the wrong people. So if someone walks in and says I want 10,000 rounds of ammo, you just might become suspicious of that, so I think there are grounds for those suits, but not if you sell me a legal product. If they are selling me a product to a person who buys it legally, what you are talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don’t believe in that.

Hillary Clinton has criticized Sanders’ stance on guns, and the two have sparred frequently on the subject. Clinton has said that no other industry in America has absolute immunity but the gun industry.

Even if Bernie wins Wisconsin, he loses

The media, and Bernie Sanders supporters are anticipating a victory for Bernie tonight in the Wisconsin primary. Pundits are frothing at the mouth, spewing venom at the supposed fact that Hillary could be in trouble, and frustration growing in the Clinton camp that she can’t put away Sanders and concentrate on the general.

One big problem with that logic, math!!! Even if Bernie wins tonight, the vote is expected to be close, and in Sanders world, close doesn’t cut it. Despite blowout wins in Washington state, Hawaii and Alaska, the delegate dial has barely moved. After tonight’s results, Hillary is going to have close to 1800 delegates in her back pocket, to around 1100 for Sanders. Hillary needs around 30% of the remaining states delegates to get the nomination. Bernie needs close to 70%
After Wisconsin, delegate rich states like New York and Pennsylvania are on deck, where Hillary had huge leads, (Average of 20% in New York, and 25% in Pennsylvania), not to mention Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut on April 26th, West Virginia on May 10th, Kentucky on May 17th and the big kahuna, California on June 7th, where Hillary is leading.

So if Bernie wins tonight, he’ll celebrate, his supporters will cheer, the media make mountains out of molehills and continue pouring out numbers that in the end, really won’t matter much.

The only numbers that matters is 2383, and the reality is Bernie isn’t anywhere near that number.

My way to early electoral college prediction

Here is my first call of my electoral college predictions and state by state winners. Since Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump lead in delegates for their respective parties, I am going with those two for this diary. (However, the states I have for Hillary, I also have for Bernie, with perhaps only slight changes) So without further ado, here goes.

Hillary states, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, DC, Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Hawaii. 24 states, 303 electoral votes.
Trump states; Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Louisiana, West Virginia, Tennessee. 23 states, 153 electoral votes

Tossups; Texas, (Yes Texas, I think Hillary has a shot) North Carolina and Florida, (Although I have it leaning Hillary). 3 states 82 electoral votes.

This is the first in a series of predictions coming on the election. No doubt things will change in the coming months. What do you think??

Markos has a message for Bernie, GET OUT!!

Markos Moulitses, founder of Daily Kos, wrote an editorial for The Hill, that Bernie Sanders should drop out because there is no plausible way for him to get the nomination. By saying this, he has infuriated millions of Sanders supporters in the process. However, while he has made Bernie people mad, in the end, he’s right on the money.

Even though Sanders won Utah and Idaho rather easily, Sanders only picked out a net gain of about 10 delegates because Hillary blew him out in Arizona.

Markos went on the say. “in short, while there is still a mathematical chance of a Sanders victory, it is not a realistic one. Hillary Clinton never trailed Obama by more than 150 delegates at anytime during the 2008 primaries, and that race wasn’t particularly close.”
Markos has a point. With her victory last night in Arizona, Clinton has around or over 1700 pledged and super-delegates in her back pocket. Granted, the upcoming primaries and caucuses seem to favor Bernie, he can’t simply squeak by with wins. He has to dominate the way Hillary has dominated him in her blowout victories. Add to the fact that New York, Pennsylvania and the big kahuna, California have yet to vote, and recent polls show Hillary leading all three.

Bernie is not going to listen to calls telling him to get out, but more and more people are telling him to do so, but unless something completely off the wall happens, Hillary Clinton is going to be the Democratic nominee. Staying in will please his supporters, but the earlier Hillary can concentrate on beating Trump, the better.

CNN boss Jeff Zucker defends Trump 24/7 coverage

Went on the net this morning and saw a story from the Washington Examiner about CNN boss Jeff Zucker and the decision by his network, among others, to push Donald Trump down the throats of listeners everywhere. Zucker said in the interview that “The front-runner of the party is always going to get a disproportionate amount of attention”.

Really Mr. Zucker?? as I recall, there is a certain Democratic front-runner named Hillary Clinton that doesn’t get anywhere near the amount of attention that Trump gets. Maybe you don’t realize that, because if you did, your statement you made really doesn’t make a heck of a lot of sense.
Now I don’t know about you, but I would like to hear something else leading the newscast except Donald Trump. Just looking at the man makes me want to vomit, but there are other candidates out there in both parties who would really like to at least get mentioned in the first 50 minutes of an hour long news segment.

To news outlets, Trump is like a slow motion car crash, and I understand that Trump is a ratings winner, but after a while, people get repulsed and sickened by seeing the same thing over and over again.

The media doesn’t like to admit this, but Trump is controlling them. They are only too happy to  being led around by Trump, salivating on every word he says. Led by Fox News, the considerable amount of free airtime given to Trump plays right into his hands.

It’s time for the media to get a grip. Donald Trump maybe the front-runner, but this constant Trump 24/7 coverage is pathetic. The media is being played for the suckers they are.

Clinton victories met with anger, whining

Went to bed late Tuesday night after CNN declared that Hillary Clinton had beaten Bernie Sanders in Illinois, and was very happy. Hillary was well on her way to getting the nomination, and now she could concentrate on the general election and beating Donald Trump in the fall, (assuming he is the GOP nominee). Woke up Wednesday morning and was met by the following on liberal websites everywhere;

Piss off Democrats, I’m leaving the party

Clinton victories leave me very depressed

I will never vote for Hillary

Hillary cannot beat Trump

Arrest Bill Clinton for talking to people

Don’t you dare celebrate Clinton victories.

How the media sabotaged Sanders.
Our last best hope, FBI indicts Hillary.

And my personal favorite, Bernie really won all the states Tuesday night, but the media is covering it up.

Now, I can understand some of the frustration coming from Sanders supporters. I felt the same way back in 2008 when Hillary lost to Barack Obama, but I’ve never seen as much loathing, whining and outright hatred for Hillary Clinton than I have seen in the past week. I understand that people may not agree with Hillary on everything. Heck, I always didn’t agree with Obama on everything, but it seems simply pointless to me to pile on Hillary when the real enemy is Trump.

I ask Democrats this, do you want Trump as president?? I certainly don’t. In order to win in November, we have to show a united front. This crazy talk coming from Bernie people isn’t helping matters any.
