Some of what Dennis said:

The articles of impeachment that were introduced under a privileged resolution cite the Vice President’s persistent lies relating to Iraq. He claimed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, that necessitated the US response. He claimed that Iraq somehow was connected to al-Qaeda’s role in 9/11. He has been beating the drums for war against Iran. Those are the elements of the articles of impeachment that were introduced into the House this week.

On the House Leadership’s trying to keep impeachment off the table by trying to shootdown his Priviledged Resolution:

I think it’s very difficult to explain their position, because I don’t think their position is defensible. I think when you consider that our whole nation is at risk, our constitutional form of government has been undermined by lies, by illegal war, by massive debt, how can you explain the position of Democratic leaders?

On whether John Conyers will do the right thing and hold hearings on impeachment:

I think John Conyers wants to do the right thing, and I’m hopeful that he will.

Amy even brought up Dennis’ UFO incident.  Here’s Dennis’ answer:

Well, first of all, you know, I was kind of taken aback when I was asked that question, but I understand in Washington the truth is an unidentified flying object, so I guess I could admit that I saw something, found out later that Ronald Reagan on two occasions was said to have seen a UFO, that Jimmy Carter was said to have seen a UFO. So I’m assuming that now becomes a prerequisite for becoming President of the United States.

Impeachment news: Rep. Wexler to push for Impeachment, plus more!

Via Bradblog.com, Rep. Wexler has sent out a letter to call the HJC to hold hearings on impeachment:

I share your belief that Vice President Cheney must answer for his deceptive actions in office, particularly with regard to the preparations for the Iraq war and the revelation of the identity of covert agent Valerie Plame Wilson as part of political retribution against her husband. That is why I voted against the motion to table debate on H.Res. 333. Along with only 85 other Democrats, I opposed tabling the measure and supported beginning immediate debate and a vote on the Cheney impeachment resolution. The vote on tabling the Kucinich resolution was rejected, and the House subsequently voted to refer the matter to the Judiciary Committee.

The American people are served well with a legitimate and thorough impeachment inquiry. I will urge the Judiciary Committee to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months. Only through hearings can we bring begin to correct the abuses of Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration; and, if it is determined in these hearings that Vice President Cheney has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors, he should be impeached and removed from office.

Show Rep. Wexler support by writing him, Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers and your Congressperson.  Contact Congress here!

Also, Congressman Dennis Kucinich is calling for citizens to send him e-mails supporting his move for impeachment.  He will deliver the e-mails to Madame Speaker herself.  Send your support e-mail here!

Raw Story has a report and video on Dennis’ appearance on the CBS Morning show, with the interview being conducted by Harry Smith.

Kucinich: Momentum built for Cheney impeachment. Tuesday’s the Day!

Well, it’s almost time!  We’re finally going to get to see which members of our House of Representatives are willing to stand up for the Constitution and the citizens of the US!
The movement started with an offer of a conversation on impeachment from Congressman Kucinich:

He asked us to enroll in a stand for peace, and to remember the purpose of what our country was founded upon.

Indeed, he introduced H Res 333 for the impeachment of Dick (which would then go to the Senate for removal) and then to go after W.  What was the Democratic Leadership of the House’s reaction: Impeachment was taken off the table.  Even John Conyers, who became chair of the House Judiciary Committee said that impeachment was off the table.

Dennis continued on his semmingly quixotic crusade, promising to enter over 100,000 signatures for impeachment to the House record:

Of course, we know where the other Democrats running for President stand on the issue:

So, without the support of the Leadership, without the support of his fellow candidates for President, without the support of John Conyers (who could have called up H Res 333 for consideration, and didn’t), Dennis has decided to take the issue to the floor of House on Tuesday:

Is there momentum for impeachment?  Will the Democrats in the House stand up for the Constitution and the citizens of the United States?  It may be up to us to help convince them that this is what needs to be done.

You can contact Congress here: http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/
You can contact Speaker Pelosi here: http://www.speaker.gov/contact/ or by calling her at (202) 225-0100.  You can help to bring pressure on the members of the House.  You can help Dennis in his move to impeach Richard Cheney.  You can help make history of the good kind!  And if you agree with Dennis’ action on this issue, you can help keep his voice being heard during the primary season by donating to his campaign here: https://services.myngp.com/ngponlineservices/contribution.aspx?X=aDlDFFT9TMGh0ghebdP6VkYKCfcT%2fFNw
