BRAVO for Powerful Role Model Women!

Yesterday was HUGE for all women. Whether one likes Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi or not one cannot help but note that this is a big step for woman-kind. Aside from being a mother and grandmother, I have never felt so proud of my womanhood as I felt today.

I hope that the young women will begin to see what a true role model is. That Paris and Britney and the like are not good role models for anything of value. That Trump’s promotion of slutty beauty pageant winners who tarnish their light are not shining examples for a young woman to aspire to.
I hope that women like Nancy Pelosi, Rosie O’Donnel, Oprah, all the congresswomen, female senators, mothers, grandmothers are the women to be looked up to. That intelligent, responsible women are more attractive, more vital, more important than a show of cleavage or the flash of a thong. The men who prefer the latter are not the men who will give you the respect and honor most women deserve. They are not the men who will stand beside you as you aspire to do great things.

I hope that men will see and know what a real attractive woman really is.
I hope that the media stops focusing and promoting women by appearance, clothes, boobs, hair color  or as eye-candy.

I hope the media pays attention to the milestone that women made yesterday as the story, the bigger story than the antics of a useless bimbette like Paris Hilton.

I hope this is the beginning of the ending of the media dumbing down of our young people and especially at what it has done to young girls.

Bravo Democrats, Nancy and those who see and know how HUGE this magnificent moment is.

Bush Apologizes-Saddam’s Pardoned (fantasy)

My weird fantasy headline I’ve been thinking about. It could happen.. Letting Saddam clean up Buschco’s mess would be punishment enough, don’t ya think?

Bushco has done more damage to the Iraqi people and their country and the mideast than Saddam, in my view.

I cannot get into the Christmas spirit with all the horrors happening in the world today.

All I want for Christmas is our troops home. I want peace in Iraq and in the mideast. Let them live their way. I want the robber barons of the war complex companies like Haliburton, the CEOs of oil etc companies, Walmart and other companies who exploit workers here and in China to be held accountable!!

Will Bush and cohorts ever be held accountable? How do they sleep at night? This mess keeps me up many nights and I’m just a little sick old lady in New Hampshire.

Is there any way that we can make them accountable?

I want to go Christmas shopping for my adopted S. Korean adorable grandson. He’s 2 and loves Thomas the Train. I’m sure I’ll manage that inspite of all the pain and sorrow I see, but something will be missing.

I won’t rest until those who have to be held accountable take responsibility for all the lives they have destroyed. All those in power who have stolen from us and stepped on us and have more money than God should be held accountable for the many miserable Chritmases that will be had by so many all over the world.

My heart goes out to the Iraqi families and the troops’ families who will also not have a peaceful happy December.

Merry fucking Christmas Dubya etc. Get us out of Iraq and sove the mess by letting Saddam clean it up. He use to be a friend of youse guys. With friends like Bush who needs enemies…

Bible-Study Room Closed in Congress

Who knew? Somehow I think the GOP bible-thumpers used that room to rewrite the bible to THEIR specifications because many did not practice what they preached. Maybe they used that room to search out bible words to justify all the sins that were committed while they were running the show.

Maybe they even used that room for ‘fun stuff.’ Maybe that’s where the ten commandment plaque and nativity scene were displayed year round, but now we’ll never know cause it’s been closed!

Republicans to lose their Bible-study room in the Capitol

If studying the Bible is what led Republican Christianists to not be able to pass a budget (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), not rein in Bush’s illegal and unconstitutional warrantless wiretapping program (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), and not be able to do one damn thing about the Iraq Clusterfuck (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), then less Bible study, please, say I.

GOP’s bleak retreat into the minority
By Patrick O’Connor

Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas) expressed astonishment during a recent meeting of conservative lawmakers that Republicans would soon lose the room where members hold their regular Bible study, an aide present said.

On a similar note, Republicans across Capitol Hill have been forced to confront the unwelcome presence of Democrats touring their offices to map out arrangements for the coming Congress.

The Republican retreat from ornate leadership chambers and spacious committee offices has been a harsh awakening for members of the outgoing majority, but that is just one of the many difficult realities GOP members and staff must accept about life in the minority.

I hope the GOP fundies read the Hell parts in the bible. They should be scared..really scared. What Bush etc., has done and created in Iraq is hell. Bush needs to be held accountable to his last breath.

Separation between church and state was put in the constitution for good reason. We can at least thank the GOP for reminding us why that is SO important. Maybe someday Iraq will see the value of separation of church and state also, but with the blatant hypocrisy of Bush’s etc., words and actions, that may never happen.

When we and the world saw our own democracy being squandered, used and abused it’s damn difficult to sell it to others.

I wonder what the DEMS will now use that room for..any ideas?

Power of the People and Democracy!

Our voices do count. The American People rose above the oppression and suffocating politics of corruption and lies.

I can breathe again. Thank you to my fellow Americans. I feel like I won. I feel the hope, the faith, the America I thought was gone still exists.

Why does this feel like such a personal victory?

I’ve been a political junkie for years. That occurred when I realized that there is a spiritual quality to politics. I had always been interested in philosophy, metaphysics, spirituality and the like.

In my seeking I ruled out organized religion years ago. I grew up Catholic and even at a very young age saw too much hypocrisy there, so I continued to search. I studied history and the political sides of democracy, socialism and the views of many.

I saw that community and the will of the people needed to coincide for a society to operate with peace and harmony and thence the importance of governing, rules of law, guidelines to maintain that harmony.

Our forefathers proved to be brilliant, ahead of the times, and created the Constitution, Bill of Rights, which have served us well. Growth and changes are healthy things and for the most part as a group-country we’ve done well to make appropriate adjustments. When a group tries to go backwards the fight gets rougher. Going backwards does not work.

We, the people, insisted on becoming part of the decision making process and elections became a precious privelidge and right for all of us.

We saw over the years  how the different philosophies could swing the country in different directions. We saw how absolute power of one side corrupts and tips the country toward dangerous scenarios and how elections could restore the balance.

Our Democrat win yesterday was a long time in coming. We deserve this win. We have given our Democrat leaders the opportunity to make things better, to fix the wrongs and take America into a new direction yet again.

We have a chance to practice what this side preaches, lets make the best of this renewed opportunity.

I’ve spewed so much hatred here at Bush and those like him. That is so not my true nature. I intend to moderate my tone.

Let’s tone the hatred down and work for all Americans.

Power to the People. Bravo!!

Truth and Consequences of bringing men to their knees W/Poll

The art of cock-sucking. The weapon that works. It has stopped many leaders in their tracks. Women and gays who have finessed this technique can rule the world on many levels and apparently do, at least on the sidelines.

Why do men put so much at risk for this delectable momentary pleasure? When one thinks about the visual it’s pretty freaking gross. But when one sees the ecstasy on the face of the receiver is there any doubt of the absolute control the sucker has at that moment?
Who is the real sucker in this situation I ask? I suggest that if you want to stop the hypocrisy, corruption and the wrong direction the world is headed, not only vote for Democrats on November 7th, but suck a GOP leader so he can lie about it; a religious leader-make him pray for mercy, a mean boss-get a raise from the CEO- etc.,

Democrats learned this lesson years ago with Bill and  Monica. It’s time for those in power to heed this lesson also or they will be condemned to learn the hard way.

A little bit of snark goes a long way. And I already voted straight Democrat ticket so I feel free to have some fun.

But seriously, why are men so easily sucked into this act outside of marriage and other commitments? Do they really think that oral sex is not cheating? And why do they pay for it?

A suggestion for conservatives- Liberals understand that pleasure is a gift (when it doesn’t hurt another person, like a spouse, a church, a child..)  a gift that both heterosexuals and gays should be able to openly enjoy.

The Trickle Down affect is Blood, Cheating, Pilfering-Not Money

I love the trickle-down-policy. I see it working well all around me. I have ‘benefited’ in many ways and I’ll bet you have too.

If the Presidency Bush Lies is the most powerful position in the world and that position holder is allowed to Lie, Murder, Drink and Steal then those beneath him see and believe that it is okay to do that. There’s no accountability. If the Leaders of the various Religions hide pedophiles, murderers, liars, drinkers, abusers then those who follow believe that this behaviour is okay and do the same. The Pope hid this guy.

If a CEO robs his company, hides assets, his employess see no accountability and begin their petty thefts.

If the head of a household drinks and abuses the spouse and children those beneath him see little or no accountability and repeat the learned behavior.

If elected officials who deceive the people that placed him in office gets away with lies, fills his/her pockets with tax payer money and gets re-elected over and over again, those beneath him accept the no accountability and do the same. (Insert your favorite political crook here-there are so many..)

If the leaders don’t care about the important things, those beneath begin not to care either. If the media stops reporting the news and just entertains because that’s where the money is, those who watch learn to want just entertainment.

If those on top ignore the poor and sick, the followers do the same.

Crime rates are up, gun ownership is up, alcohlism and drug use is up, poverty is up.

Yes, the trickle down affect is working well.

Proof of Dirty Politics- Germ Warfare

Well, who knew how dirty politics could get:

In Clean Politics, Flesh Is Pressed, Then Sanitized
By MARK LEIBOVICH
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 — Campaigns are filthy. Not only in terms of last-minute smears and dirty tricks. But also as in germs, parasites and all the bacterial unpleasantness that is spread around through so much glad-handing and flesh-pressing.

“You can’t always get to a sink to wash your hands,” said Anne Ryun, wife of Representative Jim Ryun, Republican of Kansas.

I wish they made a sanitizer for my ears and eyes. Every time Bush and his ilk open their mouths I have to run outside for a breath of fresh air.

Hands would be the untidy appendages that transmit infectious disease.

Like so many other people involved in politics these days, Mrs. Ryun has become obsessive about using hand sanitizer and ensuring that others do, too. She squirted Purell, the antiseptic goop of choice on the stump and self-proclaimed killer of “99.99 percent of most common germs that may cause illness,” on people lined up to meet Vice President Dick Cheney this month at a fund-raiser in Topeka.

When Mr. Cheney was done meeting and greeting, he, too, rubbed his hands vigorously with the stuff, dispensed in dollops by an aide when the vice president was out of public view.

That has become routine in this peak season of handshaking, practiced by everyone from the most powerful leaders to the lowliest hopefuls. Politics is personal at all levels, and germs do not discriminate. Like chicken dinners and lobbyists, they afflict Democrats and Republicans alike. It would be difficult to find an entourage that does not have at least one aide packing Purell.

Some people find that unseemly in itself.

“It’s condescending to the voters,” said Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, a Democrat.

A fervent nonuser of hand sanitizer, Mr. Richardson holds the Guinness Book of World Records mark for shaking the most hands over an eight-hour period (13,392, at the New Mexico State Fair in 2002).

Indeed, what message does it send when politicians, the putative leaders in a government by the people, for the people, feel compelled to wipe off the residues of said people immediately after meeting them?

“The great part about politics is that you’re touching humanity,” Mr. Richardson said. “You’re going to collect bacteria just by existing.”

Still, politics can be an especially dirty place to exist.

“Every time you’re with big groups of people, you’re going to be exposed to rhinoviruses, adenoviruses and the viruses that cause gastroenteritis,” said Senator Tom Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican and physician.

Mr. Coburn said he washed his hands whenever possible but did not use any antigerm lotions. Being a doctor, he said, he has been exposed to more bugs and, thus, enjoys greater immunity than most other people.

For what it is worth, Howard Dean, also a doctor and the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said he did not bother with the stuff, either.

“If you’ve had children, you’re immune to everything,” said Mr. Dean, a father of two.

As with most things, this places Mr. Dean at loggerheads with President Bush.

“Good stuff, keeps you from getting colds,” Mr. Bush raved about hand sanitizer to Senator Barack Obama, Democrat of Illinois, at a White House encounter early last year.

Mr. Obama, who recounts the episode in his new book, says that after rubbing a blob of it on his own hands, the president offered him some, which he accepted (“not wanting to appear unhygienic.”)

Mr. Obama has since started carrying Purell in his traveling bag, a spokesman said.

It is not clear when politicians became so awash in the gel. In one semifamous cleanliness lapse in the 1992 presidential campaign, Bill Clinton, who had just shaken dozens of hands at a tavern in Boston, was handed a pie but no fork on his way to the car. The ravenous Mr. Clinton promptly devoured it using his unwashed hand. He eventually became a serious user of hand wipes and lotions at the urging of his doctor, an aide said.

Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, said he learned about hand sanitizer from observing Senator Bob Dole’s abundant use of it in his 1996 presidential run. Mr. McCain remains vigilant today.

“I use it all the time,” he said through a representative. “I carry it with me in my briefcase.”

Purell, which is made by GOJO Industries of Akron, Ohio, came on the market as a consumer product in 1997 and became popular in campaign vans, holding rooms and traveling bags in the 2000 campaign. Donald Trump, the billionaire germophobe who contemplated running for president, even distributed little bottles of it to reporters.

“One of the curses of American society is the simple act of shaking hands,” Mr. Trump wrote in his book “Comeback.” “I happen to be a clean-hands freak.”

Al Gore is, too. He turned his running mate, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, onto sanitizer in 2000, and Mr. Lieberman became an evangelist.

“He said it was one thing he learned from Gore,” said an aide to Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, Rebecca Kirszner, who became a popular dispenser of Purell on a senatorial trip to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Richardson said that if he ran for president, as he is considering, he had no intention of conforming to the norms of his antiseptic peers.

“I just won’t use the sanitizer,” he said. “I’ve been offered it, but I’ve turned it down.”

This positions Mr. Richardson as the early hygienic maverick of 2008.

“I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty,” he said.

RFID chipped Credit Cards Recall

Many of my earlier diaries were about the danger of RFID tags. Here’s proof of the danger of the RFID technology. I sure hope the Diebold voting machines don’t use these.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 23, 2006

CONSUMER WATCHDOGS DEMAND RECALL OF SPYCHIPPED CREDIT CARDS
CASPIAN Advises Consumers to Immediately Remove Cards from Wallets

Consumer watchdog group CASPIAN is demanding a recall of millions of RFID-equipped contactless credit cards in light of serious security flaws reported today in the New York Times. The paper reports that a team of security researchers has found that virtually every one of these
cards tested is vulnerable to unauthorized charges and puts consumers at risk for identity theft.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a controversial technology that uses tiny microchips to transmit information at a distance. These RFID microchips have earned the nickname “spychips” because the data they contain can be read silently and invisibly by radio waves without an individual’s knowledge or consent. The technology has long been the target of criticism by privacy and civil liberties groups.

“For these financial institutions to put RFID in credit cards, one of the most sensitive items we carry, is absolute lunacy,” said Dr. Katherine Albrecht, founder and director of CASPIAN, a consumer group with over 12,000 members in 30 countries worldwide.

Researchers are showing how a thief could skim information from the cards right through purses, backpacks and wallets. This information includes the cardholder’s name, credit card number, expiration date and other data that would be sufficient to make unauthorized purchases. They
say the information could even be used to identify and track people, a scenario Albrecht and co-author Liz McIntyre lay out in their book, “Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your
Every Purchase and Watch Your Every Move.”

Despite earlier assurances by the issuing companies that the data contained in the credit cards would be secure, researchers found that the majority of cards they tested did not use encryption or protect the data in any way. The information on them was readily available to
unauthorized parties using equipment that could be assembled for as little as $50, the researchers said.

“We cautioned companies against using item-level RFID, and they didn’t heed us. Now the credit card industry is facing an unprecedented PR and financial disaster,” says McIntyre, who is also a former bank examiner.
She points to the astronomical cost to replace the cards, not to mention the potential financial losses, litigation expenses, and erosion of consumer trust.

Albrecht and McIntyre are calling on the industry to issue a public alert detailing the dangers of the cards they’ve issued, institute an active recall, and make safe versions without RFID available to concerned consumers.

“This recall has to be very clear and very directed since consumers may not know their cards contain RFID tags,” says Albrecht. “The industry has repeatedly resisted calls to clearly label the cards. Rather, they’ve given the cards innocent-sounding names like ‘Blink.'”

CASPIAN is advising consumers to immediately remove the credit cards from their wallets and call the 800 number on the back to insist on an RFID-free replacement card. The group is cautioning consumers not to mail the cards back or simply throw them away due to the risk of their personal information being skimmed.

This RFID stuff has bothered me since I first read about it a few years ago. I know it has a practical side regarding inventory tracking, but I find it obscene when used to track us in any form.

The Long Reach of Pedophiles and Alcoholism

I just finished watching a movie called “Mysterious Skins”. It was a tragic story about 2 little boys who were molested by their baseball coach. One of the boys grew up turning tricks with male strangers for money. The other thought he had been abducted by aliens cause he had blocked those memories out.

Why am I telling you this?

Because my soon to be ex-husband and his two brothers were all molested by and adult male friend of their alcoholic parents. I can only imagine how it affected them as young boys. Both their mom and dad were alcoholics, so you can imagine the company they kept.

My soon to be ex is an alcoholic and one of the cruelist human beings I’ve ever encountered. I stuck with him longer than I should have because I felt such compassion of his horrible childhood and sometimes he could be very sweet. But he could not communicate on any level sober, and when drunk became a raging dangerous man.

The combination of having been molested and having alcoholic DNA is a deadly combination in so many ways. My life was threatened in so many ways because of the sickness of someone else from years ago.

This is why I have ranted and raged in so many diaries here over the people in power who have and do abuse others. The hypocrisy of religious leaders and government officials drives me crazy.

The long reach of pedophilia and alcoholism is so horrific. Put those two lethal combinations together with power and greed and you see why the world is in such a bad way.

As a society, we are full of predators, exploiters, addicts of all kinds of things and the damage that they have done while commiting such horrible crimes affect each and every one of us in so many ways.

I cry for what my poor cruel ex husband suffered as a child and how it was taken out on me and I truly don’t know who should get the most sympathy.

This is just one example why the Foley issue must not disappear. It’s affect will mar those he preyed on and those who covered it up for years and years. And it must stop!!

And add all the LIES that come with this bad behaviour and we all become dysfunctional.
