I never used HOTLIST at dKos. Let me know if it is working right.
Also, on the top menu there is a new box called ‘Recent Comments’. It will show you the last 10 comments made on the site. That way you know who’s posting and where.
It replaces the box to look at your own comments. That can be done by clicking on the hyperlink in your userbox.
And I don’t think you can recommend your own diaries anymore.
Let me be the first to say, yea.
I was so excited when I saw this diary pop up and I am going right now to use it, thanks booman.
Works great. Will you have a subscribe option so that we can subscribe to other people’s diaries? I LOVE the spell check feature.
One of my favorite features at Kos. I hotlisted a diary and when I tried it the whole diary came up with the comments. At Kos when you clicked on your hotlist just the name of diary came up with how many comments and if any new since you last checked it. You then clicked on that diary which would pull it up.
ok so I had to go check out my hotlist at kos to see the difference. This is better as the hotlist here is on our page showing list and any new comments. Better than Kos. You may again color me easter egg happy.
Can’t seem to find it…Am i missing something??
Hit one of the plus (+) signs next to a story or diary and then look to see if you have a Hotlist Box on the right.
I guess the replies to comments are taken care of separately (sort of), but what about subscribing to some diarists?
look into subscriptions for the future.
Not sure how difficult it is. I doubt it will be too hard to accomplish.
I used the hotlist feature at first at dKos, but it soon became to cluttered to be useful – there were just too many good diaries I wanted to save. Now I bookmark them (I use Safari – I have a folder called “Diaries” on the bookmarks bar and periodically I make a new folder in it with a date, so they’re roughly sorted by date and the “Diaries” list is not too long, since it’s mostly folders).
But I do use diary subscriptions. Not so much of a problem here (yet), but when diaries start to scroll away quickly, it’s how I make sure I don’t miss one by my favorite posters – like Welshman, say, or Jerome a Paris.
Subscription feature would be much appreciated by me.
True BooMan – but I cannot find the box to view who recommended my own diaries.
Diaries of other authors box works fine.
Oui – Liberté – Egalité – Fraternité
recommended your own diaries.
we’ll have to fix that. It’s always something š
I really like the “recent comments” link. Really gives you an idea of where the action is. Thanks again, BooMan.
This is what shows in my user page: ratings.

As far as I recall, 2) and 3) were attached to 4). After a rating they disappeared from the thread. Sorry, wasn’t intentional!
Oui – Liberté – Egalité – Fraternité
Thanks, we’ll look into it.
Hi BooMan. I’m on Internet Explorer and don’t see the hotlist. Do I need to enable something? Here’s what I see:

I think if you hit the plus sign on the diary your hot list will pop up.
Hi, Booman–jotter at Dkos posted a suggestion the other day, some sort of coding thing that causes visited links to be highlighted in a different color. Kos put it in today, and it’s really cool–makes it much easier to keep track of where you’ve been on the diary list. Also makes the front page less cluttered. Apparently, it also decreases use of bandwidth in some way? Which is good, I guess, moneywise, so I thought you might like it. Love the new hotlist, BTW! Thanks for making BooTrib such a nice place to be.
