I think there is a common misconception that most of the soldiers in Iraq are from bright red southern states – certainly that was a view that I held until looking at this amazing map.
Each time you click the “+” sign, you see a figure appear in the hometown of a soldier that lost his/her life in Iraq. Notice that most of the soldiers are from the Northeast and West Coast
Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers…..I don’t know about you, but moderation and restraint is not what I felt when I watched the twin towers crumble to the ground, a side of the Pentagon destroyed, and almost 3,000 of our fellow citizens perish in flames and rubble.”

I’m so glad you got to see that and posted it. I tried to get the map to work the other day, but couldn’t .. maybe because I use Safari?
It’s a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing this.
I can’t get it to do anything either and I’m using IE….is it because I’m using a Mac?
I sure wish you Mac people could see this. After work I will try taking some screen shots and posting them.
