Presidents as real men and not virtuous heroes.

One of the casualties of the Bush Reign of Terror will be the media’s preferred myth that our leaders are virtuous men doing the best they can to avoid war and look for ways to arrive at reasonable solutions to problems around the world. That view will no longer hold water.

This mythologizing by ignoring the obvious has been the source of ills in the post WWII years. The sooner it is put to rest and American Presidents are treated as the real, venal men they always have been, would make possible for a more hardheaded assessment of these men.
