Bummer. Kerry should have been elected. I put my heart and soul into Kerry’s election because I knew everything depended on it. Kerry lost. Now we’re fucked. Roberts will be confirmed unless he screws up during the hearings. We will watch the hearings closely. But we will watch Fitzgerald closer.
The President is going to go on national television is a few minutes. He is going to tell us who he has chosen to replace Justice O’Connor on the Supreme Court.
Maybe his choice will be another Souter, or maybe his choice will be another Scalia. Whatever his choice, we know that he only made it today to protect his friend, Karl Rove.
Karl Rove is guilty of leaking classified information for purely political purposes. His leak was made to undermine an investigation into the lies that were told to the American public and our Congress to justify a preemptive war of aggression.
The makeup of the Supreme Court is important. It’s very important. But we can’t forget the real story. The real story is unfolding through high-level leaks coming out of Tony Blair’s administration, the CIA, and the State Department. The real story is that the war in Iraq was based on a pack of lies, that it was poorly planned, and that we are losing that war.
So, let’s keep everything in perspective.

Hear, hear. After reading Susan’s helpful post, I can’t get too exorcised about this guy. We knew we were getting a conservative, he doesn’t appear to be certifiable, so let’s stay focused on the REAL outrage.

after the media and the public return their attention to the deeper issues of the lies the regime used to start this war, someone will begin pressing for a real investigation into who forged the “Niger Documents” in the first place, and how those persons are linked to the Rove/Libby & Co treachery in outing the CIA agent.

Amen Boo. i said this in another thread. The Senate will not even be looking at this nominee for another 5/6 weeks because of the August break. So why the rush all of a sudden to name a nominee? TRAITORGATE!!!! AND Olberman did keep it in there tonight as would be expected of him. Remember, keith was one of the first MSM to talk about DSMs. It would be my greatest hope that TRAITORGATE will be a frontpage story here at Booman everyday til Darwin takes Rove and the rest of the crooks to jail!

And the media know exactly what he is doing, too… trying to distract from the Rove thing. Hopefully, the fact that Scotty lied directly to them from the podium, and that the horrid Judith Miller is in jail will help keep them focused, because not only does the story relate to Iraq, but also has the media itself right in the middle of it.
So, maybe their self-interest will carry the day.

This is the pic he chose to give to us for the supreme court and he didn’t have enough of the bio memorized that he had to read it from his script. Does this not tell all??!! I watched his eyes and face as he spoke. It told me the complete story.
