Because, even though I have real work I should be doing, I don’t really want to. And this seemed like a lot more fun. This was in the Open Thread on My Left Wing:
Someone develop a MLW GOOGLEBOMB, eh?
I’m tired of seeing my Maryscott O’Connor Retires!” DKos diary when I google my name.I wanna see My Left Wing on that search engine!
Googlebomb silliness below the fold–although I’m sure someone else, perhaps someone more dedicated to not getting other work done today, could do better.
Did you know that Maryscott O’Connor has a new blog? It’s called "My Left Wing", not to be confused with My Left Foot, which was a movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis. I only mention this because Maryscott O’Connor was recently lamenting the fact that My Left Wing is not showing up in her searches yet. Bummer, huh? Maryscott O’Connor puts all sorts of time, energy, and animated gifs into rolling out her new blog, My Left Wing, and My Left Wing doesn’t even show up on search engines yet. Oh, the humanity!
Here’s the diary I did on My Left Foot.

Birdie pictures in the comments. 😉
How does one googlebomb? I’m serious?
Someone posted this link in the comments to the diary I did over at MLW

What I wanna know is why my adorable birdies haven’t gotten any mojo yet. :p

I know that feeling.
As if MSOC needed a Google bomb! The search engine spiders will catch up with MSOC, don’t you fret.
If you want to do something for the cause, link to lesser known sites and subvert the dominant linking heirarchy that maintains the same few (mostly male) sites up at the top of search results. There are many many worthwhile sites out there with sharp, insightful commentary, but don’t thrive like they might because the same 20-30 superblogs keep linking to each other.
Amanda at Pandagon is one exceptional exception. There may be others, but it’s not like I’m the first one to observe this.
Just a thought….
