Welcome back paint fans!
In volume 7 of this series, we continued the painting inspired by the streetscape seen in the photo immediately below. (The street in front of my house.) Immediately below the is the full sequence of our work-in-progress. Since last time I have taken the painting further. It’s current appearance is the last photo following. (More discussion below.)
The photo (once again):

Where we left off:
Here is how it now appears:
Sorry if you have dial-up. (I do) But I thought that it was worth seeing the entire process at one time. If you’re into it, give it a couple of minutes to download.
I hope that I haven’t left out any of the interim photos. Anyway, I’ve added highlights and details. Please note that my poor photography has darkened things a bit. The shadows between the shrubs on the left appear somewhat darker than in real life. I have subdued the colors on the roadway. The background above the shrubs has been lightened a bit and the upper right has received highlights as well. The shrubs themselves have a more three demensional appearance. Those four tree trunks have finally received some needed attention in the form of a more appropriate color.
Note that almost all paint is done in thin layers, some just a very thin wash of color. The paint is a bit heavier under the shrubs on the right.
At this point I’m ready to move on. I have mixed feelings about this painting, there are good aspects but much mediocrity. But, I honestly can’t say that I had any great passion for the subject, it was more of a demonstration piece. (The first on-line painting?)
Next week, something new. See you then and thanks for stopping by!
