Homomorphic history from Helmet Hair:
STEPHANOPOULOS: We read on the front page of the Washington Post this morning that these elements of the Iraqi military, the army and security forces we’re training up, are actually, many of them, still loyal to their parties, still loyal to their militias and it’s not a national army.
ALLEN: Well, that’s true. And you have that even in our United States. We have local police; we have state police, and you have the FBI…
Jesus. That was on yesterday’s ABC’s This Week. Crooks & Liars, but of course, has the video. Laugh yourselves silly. Then remember he’s on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. We won’t mention the next office he’s seeking. (OPEN THREAD)
Allen is the prince of Good Hair–right behind Perry.I thought I had scored a victory moving here in time to vote against Oliver (fuckin) North!
Hey …
by the way susan, I did send John an email about his sax playing and he said when better he’d finish his cd.
Sure hope so…. it must be devastating for him not to be able to play.
Sadly enough, he is my Senator. I hope to a higher power that either Mark Warner or Don Beyer run again him to take Allen’s ass down!! Nothing would give me more pleasure than to not see his smirky face ever again.
I so hope you get your wish.
George Allen proves, once again, that he’s the second stupidest person in Washington after “you know who”, (the Imbecile in Chief).
That sounds like one of Rumsfeld’s idiotic remarks about looting being part of freedom. They can’t be that stupid, it can’t be that widespread. That quote is beyond maddening. What an idiot if he thinks playing stupid is going to get us out of this quagmire.
It would have been a better analogy if our FBI or local police were run by snake handlers.
I dunno he is behind Rummy.
Good god. What do these people do in the actual committee meetings? Just sit around practicing their golf strokes in the air while staff prepare remarks for them to memorize?
I think they are called ‘Faith-based Committee Meetings’ now where they pray and believe when they open their mouths to speak the Lord will provide the appropriate words…obviously it ain’t fucken working.
An open thread question—does anybody know why the “Baghdad Burning” blog hasn’t had a new entry since mid July? Should we be worried?
Sybil and some others here and I were all worried about her, then she posted … let’s just hope it’s that she’s an infrequent poster!
Cathy Young in the Boston Globe writes:
How silly is that, to just say, a comment on the Daily Kos. How many members are in the community, 65,000? It could be any of those people, hell it could be her who made a username and made the comment. Talk about slander. She doesn’t even said who said this quote. Its practically akin to saying: “Someone in Boston said..” What a joke.
Poor old George. His dad was a heck of a football coach and certainly had the brainpower to understand all those complicated plays. His son get left nothing but the smile and the hair.
He needs one of those Bush hidden mike things so his staff can whisper information into his ear when he’s being interviewed.
