She Speaks of Death
by Barbara Pescan
Oblivion, she said
in a weary voice,
is what is after death.
There is nothing after death
but nothing
and that’s all right with me.
It made good scientific sense,
nailed to the cathedral door
of her religious childhood.
And when her husband died
a few years later
oblivion
pinned against eternity
sagged in the middle
and in its folds
sweet disbelief surprised her
and the hope
she hadn’t seen the last of him yet.

I see the Leonard’s friend Kevin shut down his site … how is Leonard doing anyway?
I think the terms of his agreement required him to bite his lip and keep quiet.
You are terrific RubDNC…again I personally think you for your patience and completeness of doing such a fine job for us here.
yesterday or tomorrow it will be a child, a mother, an aunt, a grandfather, a studen, a marine, a soldier, a daughter…
My heart keeps breaking and my anger keeps growing. Does this make me a bad person? Society seems to think so.
I’ve been busy writing letters to our representatives. Those in society say “if you want change STFU and vote or write”… well I do that.
They say put your money where your mouth is: I have. Even on our meager budget – we have made choices with purchasing, switching and organizations to support.
Then they say, STFU you’re too angry – get a life…
I HATE Bush. I HATE what this regime is doing to the USA. I can still work towards peace and still feel angry right?
What life will my kids and your kids have if we don’t STOP and fight this regime?
I have lost ALL my old friends. I am now called a “libBeral puke”… I walk my days with a growing sense of committment but with it comes a growing sense of urgency and angery. Which… actually fills me with a warm feeling of resolve, focus and peace.
…
…but I hung around the drug store a lot, and it seems to me that your anger is normal under the circumstances.
I’m just glad we’re on the same side, DJ ;^)
