May the 4’s be with you
It was getting crowded in the old cafe!
Images are of the dance troup Pilobolus, as inspired by SusanHu’s front page post today.
I don’t dance until I’ve had at least two Jagar/Red Bulls, but what the hades, let’s rock this joint!
Whooo baby!
Well it is so good to see the cafe bustling like it has been today and more so recently now that we are in recovery stage of our mourning.
Maybe we can get Infidel over here in the cafe shortly to have a ‘last dance’ before he embarks on his journey.
I am getting my dancing shoes on just in case.

I hope so, Diane. I just got around to reading his diary and the site is lookin’ pretty blurry right now.
I spent the day — 9:30 to 5:30 — doing Katrina related things, the afternoon with a family — I have a diary in me, so many many feelings this day, but I have to get my kids and Thursday is the day of the week that the spouse works late, so I don’t know when I will get to it — I am counting on YOU to bug me about it!
So, bug me, k?
You won’t like us when we’re bugged, heh heh.
Do it, do it, do it.
Whoa, I misread brinnaine’s post. I thought she said “so hug me, k” and when kansas put up a micrograph of a bee (?) I thought she’d taken leave of her senses. My mistake!
That’s okay, I probably have taken leave of my senses. Although the one that tastes the beer is doing fine at the moment.
I am leaving off the final letters on words. What can this mean??? Surely there is some deep psychological significan.
Nah, it’s just the beer.
You have inspired me! to get a beer.
I’m having one too:
I didn’t mean anthing by it, it’s just one of my favorites! I’m sorry!!!!!
(The copy on the label makes me giggle…)
Anything (arghh…typos)
I LMAO when I saw it — thought it was a great cut!
The fine print on the bottle says “You’re not worthy”!
My other favorite is no longer made: Alimony Ale: the Bitterest Brew in America…
I’m here to bug you! I want to read that diary, and you have to post it before I get sucked back into the internet version of the blackhole (tomorrow 9-5) :o).
Here’s some bugs for ya!
from the launch party for ETERNAL ERECTION’S new funk album ‘ON TOP’- enjoyed myself a great deal…
Gee, sounds like a fun time for all…
It does not, however, sound like an apt subject for your study on premature ejaculation, CG.
I dunno — maybe they’ll have a hit with “The Median IELT Blues.”
That would be the “Less Than the Median IELT Blues”…and it probably would leave people wanting something more! ๐
just a hot hot party. i kissed several young ladies of my acquaintance, two old male pals, danced like the devil. and manoeuvred an inquisitive music jiournalist into non-sobriety to limit his questioning into my wild youth…
Yeah, but we’re still sober and we can ask. . .
So, Sven, what ABOUT your wild youth?
except the drugs have sublimated into decent wines or single malts. but the conversations are still nibbling away at existentialism. and, russian-style, i learned to keep eating if you are drinking…
So, dish out the wild tales of your youth…we’ve got time…
Isn’t that what the Viagra ads warn about??? ๐
Evening, folks — got a bit done in the Scribe household today. Most important item was to set up the new printer; I am now completely wireless! I could even print from the bathroom if I so chose… ๐
Spouse finally finished emptying his suitcases, so tomorrow we’ll try to shoehorn them into our crowded storage room (project for the fall, when it’s cooler — clean out storage room). We also treated ourselves to a new boombox (the poor person’s stereo system), and I got that set up today; it’s got great sound, and we can now listen to Air America without the annoying static from our old one.
Tomorrow’s plans: assorted errands, including ordering our computer desk and a couple of drawer units (I currently have the printer sitting on a TV tray table!). I’d like to get a couple of bookcases too, but that’ll have to wait till this place is a bit less of a disaster area…
Have a great evening, folks…probably turning in early tonight…
WoW!
It looks like I missed an exciting time here at the BooTrib.
I just popped in to say HI! before the new Survivor (I’m a sick, sick woman, I know) starts. But I’ll be back for sure when it’s over…..(did I hear Bush is on TV tonight?)
The weather here is wonderful, a kind of cool lazy rain, and it looks like it might hang around a while.
Hey k-bird: time to start talking photography fair again?
Yes, Brother — It is.
I’ve started trying to compile the results of all the comments from my Fair diaries so and I’ll send something through Yahoo as soon as it’s done.
I’m not sure how that’s done (Brother or Diane know, I think). But, I think it’s a good place to post drafts of pages. And it’s probably not a good idea to swamp the diaries with planning details.
OMG, I had forgotten Survivor starts tonight! I’m even sicker than you are, katiebird, if you don’t mind losing first place. I also watch The O.C. And if Bush pre-empts it AGAIN I will be so pissed.
We have our priorities.
We’re not proud of them, but by god we have them.
I subscribe to the Big Brother live feeds (the secret reason I’ve been gone so much lately).
We’ve got a sweet set up. An old computer sends the signal to our family television. So we don’t have to hover around a small computer monitor. We got a wireless mouse (with it’s own recharger) so we don’t even have to get up to adjust the view or reset it after the feed times out.
I defy you to top that sick habit!
I have never been so glad to lose. Whew.
Hi all!
I’ll take a merlot, thanks very much. I’m sitting here waiting on BF to come home so that we can get dinner.
Ok Booman needs to tune up his server. Is it me, or has BT been really slow the last few days? I’m having problems on both my home and work PCs. Or is it that BT has had a groth spurt the past couple of days?
Apparently, it’s a combination of a growth spurt, hardware no longer up to the increased traffic, and problems with one of the ad servers (BlogAds, was it?) It’s been better today than it has for several days.
is it that BT has had a groth spurt
I believe a groth spurt is a growth of goths?
Yes, there’s been a growth spurt, plus he’s been installing a new server.
Where you and BF goin’ to dinner??
Just got back from dinner. BF walked in just as I posted. Talk about good timing!
Anyway, we went to a small family owned hispanic restaurant near our house. We don’t like chain restaurants and luckily we have plenty of non-chain restaurants to choose from where we live.
The bad thing is that we stopped at the store and I waited in the car for BF to get stuff and when I started my car it wouldn’t turn over. Battery died just like that. Luckily these nice ladies gave me a jump and we were able to get home. So tomorrow I’ll need to take my car somewhere to get a new battery. Argh. This wasn’t an expense I really wanted to incur right now. Oh well. I’ll need to suck it up.
A groth is a nasty pustule that spurts on occasion. ๐
Bummer about the battery. Even worse bummer about the groth!
::big sigh::
After a day spent on numbers and stats and literature, literature, literature … it is so nice to fall into the Cafe and read about dancing and beer and photofairs and … erections! … and Sven’s wild youth.
Oh, and it’s super nice to read all the ‘why BT is great’ comments and diaries resulting from the latest brouhaha.
Okay. Now I’m going back up there to bug brinn! ;o)
Olivia, when you bug somebody you really bug them, lol!
The Gooserocks met folk dancing and were married 24 years ago this fall. We even had a folk dance as our wedding reception. But tonight I think we’ll put our sore feet up, sit out & enjoy the beer.
Mrs. Gooserock spent the day working with me in the craft shop, formally. Cutting, gluing, punching, hammering, and a little sewing and patching on the side. So she’s on the couch sawing logs just now. She’s got to rest up–she’s on duty tomorrow too.
I’ll check back in after we feed & walk the doggies. We didn’t have the strength to listen to the spokesman for the Department of the Presidency on TV tonight. Yep, it’ll definitely be a night for some cold ones.
Carry on!
Gooserocks, it was funny to read of you and your wife doing wood work and then to read that she was “sawing logs.” Took me a moment to understand she was sleeping.
we were so tired tonight by 10:30! She had ingeniously found me a potential subcontractor for some machined components we need, and was emailing the co. to send a prototype diagram. She had to email it to me first–now, I’m sitting 4 feet beside her–because we were both too tired to get up and look at each others’ work.
28 minutes to Evolution, Shmevolution. All of which will be consumed with back rubs.
Enjoy the dancing folks!
partially by choice — the spouse and I took the opportunity to run out and do errands (picked up some groceries and a couple of prescriptions, stopped and got paper and USB cable for the new printer, and brought home burritos for dinner). Got home just at the tail end of the speech…
and all you KS folks and blues fans nearby, here’s a heads up on a very tasty small Blues Festival comin’ atcha…Oct 14 & 15 Blues Masters at the Crossroads in good ole Salina.
venue in an old church, beautiful acoustics
Might make it down for this one myself as the line up is killer, check it out and if you’re headin’ that way give a shout out…love ta meet cha…later…
Gotta go, long day and I’m toast.
Peace
Oh, Man!! (Say that with a frustrated drawn-out wail of a whine.) That looks so great! But I’m going to be in Phoenix that weekend.
really…you should shoot me an email when the time gets closer, perhaps I can hold my nose and take a drive up to the Valley of the Sun for lunch or something
Oh, ManE, that’s a wonderful offer and I’d love to do it, but it’s even worse than you imagine. It’s not actually Phoenix it’s. . .Sun City. My 89-year-old mom is going to a birthday party for her 90-year-old friend and I am the escort.
But the next time I go to visit my oldest friend in Tucson, I’ll shoot you the email and you won’t even have to drive further than cross town.
What happened to spellcheck? Did we lose it in the server change?
then I am d00m3d!
do you mind if I link your site on mine? I read your site for political insight…at a personal level.
I always like to ask before I add someone’s site…since mine is openly pagan….
thanks…

[blush] Thanks for stopping by my humble spot on the internets (and for unknowingly giving me a kick in the pants to get cracking with the redesign).
It’s been a solid block against writing, even commenting for the last couple of weeks.
I sort of kicked myself in the butt to go update…and looked at the long list of links in my ‘favorites’. Hmmm…you were in favorites but not on links.
I really like your perspective…thanks for the effort you’ve already put on your site. It is truly more work than we all thought!
Let’s see if catnip can resist my contribution to the gathering this evening
powerless to resist, I knew it!
The new server rocks! The speed of the site is clippin along fast enough to make Dale Jr. envious! AWESOME!
anyone else amused with the Ballroom Dancing links that Google has supplied for this diary? Clickity-click-click!
