Hello everyone and welcome to the Froggy Bottom Cafe. Congratualtions to all who attended the recent march in Washington, what great stories and pictures you have all brought to us.
To follow up on the anti war march on Saturday, Vote to Impeach, has an email campaign: |
September 26: Flood Congress with emails calling for Impeachment. ImpeachBush/VoteToImpeach.org is setting up an easy to use mechanism so that hundreds of thousands of emails can be sent by people all over the country on Monday September 26 demanding that their elected official introduce Articles of Impeachment for George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and other high officials.

Cafe is open and ready to go,
Morning Diane! I”ll put my email together in a little bit (did you hear me thinking that we should have some sort of weekly “take action” diary-do you remember who that was that used to put those together?)
The Cabinboys are STILL sleeping!
home safe and sound, at least…
Yes I heard you thinking,,,lol… but seriously I cannot remember who used to do action diaries, could it be rosewriter.
Glad to have you back on the site after your exciting weekend, I still have more of the reports to read, but I did love hearing about all of you and you CG and your boys, plus seeing all of the pics. I so wanted to be one of the group, it must have been fab. to all get together.
My son slept three hours after the march, but I was too buzzed to sleep. Then he slept some more in the car on the way home.
Ah, the leisure class. LOL
Take care CG
I’m so glad to have gotten to meet you and your son this weekend…on our way to Starbuck’s, he did confess to me that afternoon was his preferred waking time. Oh, to be that young… 🙂
He stays up all night watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network lol.
Good morning to everyone. And a big thank you to those who represented us all at the march. Take a bow. (Sounds of applause) We who couldn’t make it salute you.
Morning Tribbers! Hope y’all are having a good Monday (if that’s not an oxymoron)..
CabinGirl, you should be busting your buttons over the glowing reports about your sons. They have a whole lot of Boo Aunts and Trib Uncles who will be cheering them on in their lives. I love reading all the “march” reports!
Now I’m off to the library. Cheerie bye, y’all.
I have to admit, it’s been fun reading all the reports and everyone’s responses to them! I wish we ALL could have been there together!
Alright–where is the pic of the BOO asleep on the floor? Inquiring cats want to know.
In Tracy’s camera. You’ll see it, perhaps this evening? She should get back sometime today.
Kay- thanx– giggle!
From Mrs. Gooserock, a shot of a patriotic early autumn flower arrangement for all of you who worked for our country over the weekend and on Email Congress Day.
Feel free to take a few for your table.
people have posted their pictures, I guess this old Indian/welshman will follow suit.
Well here I am in all my glory, this picture is less than 6 months old, so it really shows me where I am in life.
oohh, baby!
Where you been lately, GDW? We’ve missed you.
the recent destruction of so many lives has taken an extreme toll upon both of us. I am regrouping and energizing myself, so I don’t fall into the despair I recently found myself.
I have a few items that I want to write about and will be posting them in the very near future.
Thank you for thinking about me.
Looks like you had a really good time and thank you for representing us in DC.
WOOOHOOO-what a handsome face! Thanx for pic!
and I’ll say it again — Democratic men are DEFINITELY hotter than Republicans! 🙂
Just heard some sad news though…Don Adams, famous for the bumbling “Maxwell Smart” on Get Smart, died.
Some of the best known catch phrases:
“Missed it by that much”
“Sorry about that, Chief”
“Would you believe…?”
Rest in peace, Agent 86…
his legacy will be the government/media national Cone of Silence.
I want to add my pic here too, thanks Ghostdancer for finally posting yours….everyone, lets make this a show yourself day…
p.s.:please post your pics in new comments
tried to use my own linking sources, but there appears to be a problem with my webhosting service. So photobucket to the rescue. lol
Glad to see you are doing well diane.
Yes about time, and you do not look at all like I imagined, so it’s good to put a face to your name.
Glad to hear you are feeling better Ghost!
Have you taken a look over at Street Prophets? It is Pastor Dan’s new site on Faith and Politics. I think the discussions over there would be greatly enhanced by your unique and powerful voice.
Pastor Dan asked me to post some stuff on secular humanism, so I just started posting over there. I am going to cross-post the Humanist Network News there starting this week.
We have too much at risk just now, but we will as soon as we can. According to the math, we need to take 2nd prize in the Mega Millions lottery, a couple hundred K. That’s enough security to let us become fully public with our politics.
For those of you who can stomach such material, I did post a portrait of my Br*vehe*rt Salute in (I think) the 3rd march diary Saturday.
Think I had a pic up at Village Blue- or was it ourword? I am getting so distracted lately– and photobucket doesnt want to play with me.I know it was small enough ,cuase someone resized it for me.AAGH- one of these days i will learn- but this old cat is having a hard time learning new tricks– and the old Dadcat- lost all my passwords and such- still sorting that out.
Hi, shy, yes you did post your pic. on VB and I just saved to post here….This is Shycat folks.
You SMART woman- I knew you would do it for me!!!!:)
Just got a call from Damnit Janet at Dulles awaiting her flight. On her way to the Metro station, she tried to go by the White House to support the Code Pink folks in their civil disobedience, but found that all the streets around the WH were blocked off. There was some crowd gathered, and apparently someone (she said he was dressed like a businessman) tried to take the American flag out of her backpack, which was covered with “Bring Them Home Now” stickers. At that point she decided to get out of there, and found herself sort of followed, sort of escorted, by someone else of an unknown agency back to the Metro stop. He was armed and dressed in a uniform of dark green, she said, and wasn’t hostile but wasn’t very friendly either. He walked down into the Metro with her, helped her buy a farecard, and saw her through the turnstile. She’s at the airport now, all checked in & ready to go, but says she’s still shaking a little. Meanwhile, I see now that Cindy has been arrested at the WH with other protestors who had sat down on the sidewalk.
I wasn’t before, but now I’m creeped out and a little nervous. I live here and would recognize all the uniforms of the various police forces with jurisdiction around the city. Dark green fatigues, with a black armband saying “Police,” is no uniform I’ve seen or even heard of. In the immediate context, however, DJ is safely through security at the airport, and will be boarding for her first leg home shortly. She did want me to update y’all with her status. I would expect some pretty damn powerful diaries from her when she gets home.
I am looking forward to Janet’s diaries- she is an amazing person– not that all the rest of you are any less amazing!
That is a little creepy. The train lines. Then crap like this. I am definitely a tin-foil hatter.
on the railfan bulletin boards, the train snafu sounds relatively legit; some idiot with a crane dropped something on the wires and they snapped.
Still trying to find the whereabouts of Karl Rove over the weekend though… 😉
Okay, here’s me, trying to look “cute” — I have a cropped version on my profile at Village Blue:
And this is me and the spouse; you can credit the expression to just finishing a margarita and sangria (lol):
Heard about the Sheehan arrest; hope she and the other protestors are okay…
I have no idea what to think of that pic- do you have Disneyland in your yard? pretty darn cute.
on our recent SoCal trip — the one of me solo was when the spouse was sleeping in so I went over to the park on my own — we were to meet at noon in front of the Opera House, but I decided to do an 11:30 trip on the Disneyland Railroad while waiting, and just as we were about to leave, the spouse comes running up to board at the last minute; obviously, we had the same thought in mind. 🙂 During the 50th anniversary celebration, Disneyland has special “gold vehicles” on the rides that were part of the original 1955 opening (such as Dumbo, Storyland Boats, Mad Tea Party, etc.); they also have stationary ones for picture taking purposes. I had a couple of CYT (Cute Young Things) ask me to take their picture in the cup with their cameras; in exchange they took a shot of me with mine. 🙂
The other one was taken at a cute little Mexican restaurant on Olvera Street, a short distance from our LA headquarters hotel. 🙂
Olvera St. was a place I never got to– a fave with the hub’s family though.
I LOVE the pink paint– that is excellent– and whose art is that on the walls? Very nice!
Here I am with my husband on the summit of Brokeoff Mountain (with Lassen Peak in the background) in Lassen Volcanic National Park. (BTW, the hike up Brokeoff Mountain is one of the best in the park, more varied than the hike to Lassen’s summit and a lot less crowded.)
Gorgeous- and that ain’t the scenery either!
I agree that the hubby is, a friend of mine once said, a cute little scoot (but you should have seen him when he had this lovely head of thick, black hair).
Hub has a very full head of auburn hair with plenty of gray- and he gets cuter every day.
I think it is pretty special, that as I look around the FROGBOG- I see alot of very strong families and strong marriages- alot of very strong women and men who support each other, and their children, and do it without a hint of doubt.
Very, very, special to me- since I spend a great deal of time counseling the unhappy ones.
Great pic, andi, just where are these mountains located, the names are not familiar to me. Good for you posting your pic…
Lassen Volcanic National Park is in northern California to the east of the central valley and about 100 miles south of the Oregon border.
Where’s the blue dot? 😉
this much better picture of me:
