I have been reading all the wonderful diaries from all of you great Bootribbers who have written about your experiences in DC and I just got this idea.
On Village Blue one has the ability to link different diaries together to form a ‘book’, which then are available as a group with links to each part.
For an example of how this works see this ‘book’ of Shirlstars, Mountain of Dreams and then see this page to see how it looks all together on Printer friendly version.
So I am proposing that anyone who has written these rememberance diaries of the occasion can post them on Village Blue and I will link them all together…so that one can go there and find all the diaries in just one place.
Please consider this is an invitation to all DC protestors to post their present or future diaries on the subject at Village Blue.
What do you all think?
I love that idea!
Absolutely Brilliant, Diane!
I would love to see that. . .and I can see a DVD coming forth from it too!!! Memories of the March, DC 2005!
Great idea.
Outstanding Idea Diane!!! Hope they will all post it there and consider doing a real book from that.
I sure hope all you DC protestors will take up my invitation and I want to give you an easy way to do this…when you make your copy do it from the version as it appears to us, not the edit version..
The codes are sometimes different on VB, and the copy from edit goes with all the codes.
On VB there are not two sections for diaries either, they are broken into sections when posting automatically.
I look forward to see more of these posted, supersoling has posted his already…so M. Tracy, D. Janet, Brother, who have I forgotten, please do post your diaries on VB…and others when you write yours, rem. to post there also.
Done 😮
and I encourage my friends to do the same.
There’s a peace-and-justice student group I work with at my husband’s college, and I’ve been longing for a central, single link I could e-mail to the group. These first-hand accounts of the march have been so moving and inspiring; I want these students to see why people march and why it matters.
This is a wonderful idea. I have enjoyed reading what everyone of you have written – such personal, and different perceptions of the DC March. And I freely confess that it has been painful to read some of it, though there was never a possibility of going myself.
Still, it is those things that are the important memories of other protests and events of past years. Not the dates or a listing of names, but the thoughts and feelings; before, during and after.
You will want to look back at this one day, also, to see what you think about the experience. Does its significance fade with time, or was it a catalyst for things that came afterward, differently, because you went (or did not go?).
Do it!
Sounds good to me.
Just so long as any money we make (I know, dream on Steve) goes to Cindy’s group.
Well I wasn’t thinking about it as a sales item, but rather as something free for everyone to have access to and as a pdf file when all is done, but I am open to possibilities of selling same and donating proceeds to Cindy’s group.
Anyone have any ideas, or suggestions along those lines.
It will be available on the site, btw I cannot remember who all has done these diaries, can you guys help me out here and give me links and then I will email tham to post their diaries and pics.
