There is a god v. anti-god theme going on over at Kos today. Some of it is pretty funny. I can’t tell which side wins yet. But I’m preparing for the green site to either take a turn toward piety, or to slide back into the wretched debauchery of heretics, soon.
I vote for debauchery, anyone else? 🙂
And hedonism too and ….
Oh, gotta go take a woman to the Red Cross office downtown — back in a bit!
Brinnaine, you’re the best. You give so much every day.
my best to make everyone understand that the Flying Spaghetti Monster, may his noodly appendage touch us all, is the one true God. So far, not everyone is convinced by his Meat-Saucoliness. But, my work continues. Ramen.
There is but One God.
And He is the Sun God.
Rah! RAH! RAH!
I have been lurking around these conversations — I wills tick to what I have always stuck to:
Whatever works for you, just don’t cram it in my face, down my throat or up my ass, and all will be well.
Such silliness about the invisible guy in the sky (as George Carlin would say)….
well speaking of god, mrb.’s Humanist diary news link for this week was one of the best ever. I’ve saved it to my favorites for all the informative stuff in it..good stuff on god/creationism etc.
the Religious Reich has done has to give God (and Christians) a bad name.
The past has been full of progressives/liberals with religious credentials. Martin Luther King…the Berrigan brothers…Dorothy Day. Heck, you might disagree with Mother Teresa’s politics, but she put herself on the front lines with the poor — when was the last time Dobson or Robertson slung hash at a food kitchen?
I’m more apt to believe someone who lives their religion, rather than talking about it; if your religion is that great, people should be flocking to it without your shoving it down their throats.
But that’s just me…
I lurked a bit, but found it overwhelming. What a dumb topic. We all love the supernatural, whether we embody that in science, religion, or spirituality.
I think most of us are way out of our league to do anything much but keep it personal. Just my opinion.

Must have been a pretty serious discussion to draw this comment from the Goddess of Fertility. 🙂
from the Kansas Democratic Party’s, communication dept and they are offering me a static webpage setup and there is a candidate training session in Lawrence coming up on the 25th or 26th of Oct.
Damn things are starting to move here. I am working on getting my candidate’s paperwork from the County Clerks office and filling out and finding out from the state what I have to do as far as keeping campaign finances in order.
06 is starting to look really good for me anyway.
Way to go.
This is really way cool of you ghost.
hahahahaha..I received a form email from the WH yesterday thanking me for taking the time to write, blah blah blah…not sure why I got this except I’ve signed so many petitions etc online that it must be in response to that. Although it’s rather funny as any email of mine to WH via petition could in no way be a positive. Oddly the rest of the email had various links on how to help out with Katrina or if I needed help how to get it?…again they were so happy I took the time to share my views..yeah right I’m sure whatever I sent couldn’t possibly have been read.
They’re collecting your data for re-education camp. 🙂

Why has President Bush’s nomination of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court caused a split in the Republican Party? Is her nomination in trouble? Conservative commentator Pat Buchanan and Dr. Richard Land, President of The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, square off on the many facets of the Miers nomination, only on this Sunday’s “Meet the Press with Tim Russert”
And in our “Meet the Press” roundtable, David Broder of the Washington Post, Ron Brownstein of the Los Angeles Times, E.J. Dionne of the Washington Post, and Kate O’Beirne of the National Review discuss the outlook for the Miers nomination, Karl Rove’s testimony in the CIA leak investigation, and the indictments of Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX).
I have various odds/ends floating around in my head today. Was very happy to see Larry Johnson’s Plamegate Diary linked from booman to American Politics, cool.
Email from Boxer wanting sig on petition that she will present to bush on Oct. 17 that requests/demands a plan for pulling out our troops with set timetable.
Reading an article that says that our stockpile in S.Korea which is supposed to be enough equipment for several brigades(or thousands of troops)is 79% in complete disrepair…tanks with engine that don’t work, Bradley Fighting vehicles not working, gun tubes pitted, and that it would take year half or so to get this equipment up to speed..WTF..does Rummy do anyway?
That the Nat. Guard would like 37 thousand units of communications equipment..what they are using in Iraq is fucking radio equipment that was used in fucking Vietnam.
Some good news I read this morning happened to be that the ‘Unauthorized Reproductive Bill’ in Indiana was pulled-apparently for now anyway.
There is an advertisment on the BooTrib site that is promoting the “The Rise of the Vulcans: The History of Bush’s War Cabinet.”
As we all know Vulcans are a race who consider Logic to be the supreme intellectual achievement and, to which, all other (ahem) human endeavor falls short. I submit a Vulcan would never be a member of the Bush War Cabinet. (A Romulan on the other hand …)
So. Unless you want this:
to happen to YOU Mr. BooMan I demand you remove this offensive and insulting advertisment.
I had to laugh.
Ahahahaha.
A Vulcan-Romulan-Bush Flame war. I will place on the record, I am pro-Romulan, and there for, pro-BooMan, and resent your scurilous attack. Of course Vulcans were there. And the ad is completely justified.
that cause unrest.
Only a no-good shyster would be on the side of the Romu…
Wait a minute.
You ARE a lawyer.
(I take it back. Please don’t sue me. Please. Please. Pretty Please.)
Never trust a Romulan, I always say.

Recently in Uzbekistan. which was covered in the news, in the aftermath Russia and China moved in. Troubles started for the West when Uzbek dictator Karimov slaughtered civilians after protest demonstrations.
Russia with joint military manouvres and China with a big oil deal. I begin to understand GWB’s grinding jaw bone, is automatic for Texas oil tycoons in distress, eh… large and tiny ones. Some relief offered by Kyrgystan base.
What hasn’t been covered is another setback in neighboring Kazakhstan. A reform movement of young Kazakhs has been outlawed and people arrested. I guess the former Soviet, satellite dictator states, want to pre-empt any Orange revolutions.
The region is of utmost importance due to geographical presence to Caspian Sea Oil.
