Phew! Now I don’t have to wait all day to have a shower again.

Fitzgerald announced the indictment of George Ryan on the last day the jury was empaneled.
So that means Friday.
I suppose that he might wait until the last minute in order to keep all of his options open. As much as I really want to know, I can respect that choice. Especially if his work is solid, as it seems to be.
I admit it. The supsense is killing me. I think I might need Paxil prescription.
I was at the grocery store first thing this am ogling the expensive cheesecake. Now I’ll have a chance to go to the cheaper store farther away and buy it there.
Yesterday I graduated from needing Paxil to needing the Demerol/liquid Valium cocktail. It’s a constant Carly Simon song in my head, “Anticipa-ya-ya-tion…”

Fitz is concerned, I’m starting to really get this gut feeling that people are going to be swinging in the breeze! All bases covered and no doubt to be found. It’s kind of a haunted feeling of doom, not my doom but doom none the less. He is seemingly so calm and collected and not prone to being trigger happy ever. Having waited until the last day in the past and indicting is the sign of a patient man using all of his resources fully……scary people when you have done something wrong and it’s their job to straighten it out. Feels like popcorn and “The Untouchables” today.
When I can tear my gaze from the wonderful Fitzmas tree in our living room, with all the children singing while they stab little dolls of Cheney and Feith and Ledeen, and I consider the longer-term forces and patterns playing out in all this, I see:
— the Old Guard Republicans forcefully moving in and taking over this failed Administration as subtly as it can be managed,
— the neocons out — voluntarily if it can be arranged, or the hard way if they prefer,
— Rumsfeld and crew ejected and possibly prosecuted as the fall guys for all the Iraq corruption and missing billions, so that can be ‘put behind us’ as the rogue actions of a few bad apples,
— all efforts from Fitzmas on go to hanging on to Republican seats and the White House in ’08, especially including resisting any changes to gerrymandered districts or Diebold voting monopolies.
Oh, look! The kids have a Wolfowitz on the Yardarm set!
