asked about Gitmo hunger strike …
the prisoners wants press attention and they’ve succeeded.
……actually, I think they want to die. If we had to sustain such treatment, wouldnt we want to terminate that treatment any way we could??!! I know I would…
Donald should let the UN in.
FT
No point in going if all you can observe is the scenery.
Insurgency … what about new sophisticated IEDs?
Gen’ PACE: The two months that have had highest casualtties — last Nov and this … I missed it … the same months as the elections ….
to keep people from participating in election process.
won’t get into the IED technology
PP has got to be such a hack!!!! I think his history fails to remind him of his past and what the owes the future of his ppl. I would not take tooooo kindly to be under his command at this point! Oh my, those good talking points they can come up with…Rummy is such a dumb ass. He always has been…IMHO even from his earlier days. They all belong to the club, ya know….
Is he re-offering his resignation in public this time? If not, then he can go Cheney himself.
::sigh:: I can’t believe how astronomically destructive this misAdministration has been on so many levels.
Yeah …
The # of IED attacks and the # of casualties has gone down — but the numer of overall attacks has gone up?

Susan doesn’t understand.
na..sorry, man. he is rubbing it inour faces. One of these days he will be standing there to tellus how Syria wants freedom in the worst way and we are going to give it to them….just remember, how it all starts…;o(
Who is Donald denying he knows?
OMG! He is DENYING that he knew COlin Powell’s chief of staff, Lawrence Wilkerson …
“who was that fellow? What was his title?”
WTF?!!!!!!!
I’d be distancing myself from every chief of staff in Washington, at the rate they’re being indicted / investigated…
Wilkerson’s the one who’s been giving those devastating speeches blasting Rumsfeld et al. … and he wrote a blistering Op-Ed last week for the LA Times.
CSPAN has the video of his talk … Jon Stewart showed a bit of it last week. Wilkerson was reaming Rummy and crew.
He’s trying to turn the known knowns into either known unknowns or unknown knowns.
I’ve given this a lot of thought. I think they should all be rendered to the most volatile section of Cuyahoga County for ‘intense questioning’
He’s no less arrogant now, is he?
nope, just getting better and better. Damn him to hell!

NEW YORK (Fortune) – The prospect of a bird flu outbreak may be panicking people around the globe, but it’s proving to be very good news for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other politically connected investors in Gilead Sciences, the California biotech company that owns the rights to Tamiflu, the influenza remedy that’s now the most-sought after drug in the world.
Rumsfeld served as Gilead (Research)’s chairman from 1997 until he joined the Bush administration in 2001, and he still holds a Gilead stake valued at between $5 million and $25 million, according to federal financial disclosures filed by Rumsfeld.
The forms don’t reveal the exact number of shares Rumsfeld owns, but in the past six months fears of a pandemic and the ensuing scramble for Tamiflu have sent Gilead’s stock from $35 to $47. That’s made the Pentagon chief, already one of the wealthiest members of the Bush cabinet, at least $1 million richer.
Rumsfeld isn’t the only political heavyweight benefiting from demand for Tamiflu, which is manufactured and marketed by Swiss pharma giant Roche. (Gilead receives a royalty from Roche equaling about 10% of sales.) Former Secretary of State George Shultz, who is on Gilead’s board, has sold more than $7 million worth of Gilead since the beginning of 2005.
