“Exclusive: Senate Democrats consider pressing for appointment of special select committee to investigate administration’s pre-war intelligence claim,” by Murray Waas via Memeorandum
The Senate Democratic leadership over the course of the last several days has had discussions among themselves, along with senior congressional staff, about the possibility of pressing the Senate to appoint a special Senate select committee to investigate both the misuse of pre-war intelligence by the Bush administration to make the case to go to war with Iraq, as well as the Plame affair, according to at least three people. … Read all
A Democrat with nerve is a beautiful thing. Though this is overdue, it is a hopeful sign, especially in the wake of yesterday’s special session.
I agree; however, I want to see more dems on the talk shows to set into motion this investigation. I want the public to know what is going on. I think it is important enough to have the public aware of this and the whys. It might give the dems some creditability and strength in the future for taking over the senate and maybe the house. If the dems, infact, see they do have a choice and a way to get things done, then maybe they will get some further intestional fortitude and ram this feces down the republicans throats. This is what America wants to see above all..the dems fighting for us, above all things!
Five years later, and they are still trying to blame Clinton. What a nightmare, can we really stand another three years? They are going to completely destroy our country.
Maybe, but clinton did not lie us into a war, now did he??!! Besides from ’94 the republicans had control of congress…remember….
So do we make up stories about every single threat to America so that we can invade them?
Are we at war with North Korea? They actually have nukes, you know.
How about China? They’re a HUGE economic threat to the United States. Maybe we should fib about them and invade their country too.
I feel threatened by Castro too. Damn Communists. I heard somewhere that Cuba even tortures prisoners! Yep, down there in Guantanamo Bay. Let’s…oh wait. That’s us.
Motherfucker.
Is there a potential downside to this approach. If a Senate committee begins investigating what Fitzgerald is, could the Senate investigation negate the prosecutors own efforts? My knowledge of legal proceedings is sorely wanting here, can anyone address my question?
