I’m back at the controls in Philly. I tore what little was left of my right rotator cuff while moving potted plants and huge flower arrangements. Fortunately, I had a spare vicodin lying around the house. Now I’m feeling a little woozy.
What’d I miss?
Jimmy Carter “takes on the religious right” tonite on Larry King Live.
Poor Boo. Take care of yourself.
Susan caused all kinds of trouble in the blogosphere from what I hear while you were gone. I was angelic, of course.
π
lemme guess, that point-of-view was provided under the condition of anonymity? π
ooops…I thought I hit the “invisible post” button for that one.
Wait ’til I tell him what you did.
(She ordered a case of Absinthe with the BooMan corporate credit card.)
Well the cats deserved a Fitzmas present! What can I say?
Glad to have you back, Grand Masta Boo.
btw, your vicodin reference and Larry’s post below make for a hilarious coinkidink.
Catnip is now famous … Scooter Libby is a pervert … those raccoons I used to love dug up half my yard looking for grubs and broke into the 50-lb. bag of cat litter … Andrew Sullivan is rawking in his blasts against Bush The Torturer … I just watched the trailer for “Syriana” and it left me breathless (!) … Harry Reid makes me giggle when he swings his arm so hard demanding the Rule 21 closed session … Meteor Blades’ diary (top of the Rec list) got wide mention today around the blogosphere …
and I’d tell you to go see an orthopedic doc but I’ve tried that already and you’re so damn stubborn and won’t listen so put a fucking bag of frozen peas on your shoulder and shut up about it …
ooooo snap!
Whoa.
must.stop.speedreading
I thought that said catnip was a pervert. π
a choice now. I can’t lift a thing with my right arm. The shoulder is shredded.
Let me know if you need a recommendation on the doc…
That sounds great, Cabin Girl…. hope you can give him a name or two.
That was my salvation when I lived in Seattle. My brother’s ex-wife gave me the name of her ortho surgeon, and he was utterly fantastic.
(When Darcy was little, my neck and back went out a lot … my neck would end up locked in a forward position. Awful. (He got me a neck traction device that hung from the top of a door … really helped. Plus phys. therapy, etc.) And in the early 90s, I tore my rotator cuff but he fixed it without surgery — with shots and with muscle relaxants and Codeine until it had a chance to heal. )
I tried going to regular docs but it’s just not the same. They don’t have the expertise.
A friend of mine completely ripped the tendons in his arm this spring, and he went to an excellent orthopedic surgeon just across the river from Philly; he did have surgery and physical therapy, but he’s completely fine now.
That’s great that your injury healed without surgery. I used to have a knee problem (old ski injury), but after I started doing yoga regularly, the better alignment of my joints seems to have healed it. Hasn’t bothered me in 2 years!
You’ll get needed help (and drugs) from an orthopedic surgeon, and you’ll be so glad.
LET US KNOW how it goes. Cabin Girl has a recommendation, she said. Skip over the regular doc, unless he is an internist.
You need relief. That is so damn painful. HUGS!
Raccoons shut down air traffic control tower at Long Island airport, shit reported on crucial equipment.
Get it looked at Boo, the new athroscopic procedures are a major improvement…also, I highly recommend Percocet…works GOOD!
Peace
Sorry about the boo-boo, BooMan. I have a tender one myself, if I don’t baby it and baby it, it tears a little more, and takes 6 months or more to (sort of) heal. Even sleeping funny will put me in a bad patch with the thing. I don’t have Vicodin, so I take it out on the family, or watch Law and Order re-runs til 3 AM. Sorry, sweetie. Get well and take drugs.
Careful with those vicodins, Booman – they can really
do the trick, but don’t take them on an empty stomach!
McCain will be on Larry King’s show Thursday nite to talk about torture.
I think Larry should start paying me for all of this publicity.
NPR has an interview with Jimmy Carter and an excerpt from his new book you can listen to.
Welcome back, BooMan. Oh, we had a pie war while you were away. Also multiple bannings and several flame wars. Other than that it was pretty quiet.
Hey Boran2…you promised not to tell about the pie war. Booman, I want him banned right now!!!!
That’s what he gets for posting another framing diary π
ROTFLMAO….I love you Manny!
Tribbers have a very long memory. π
not a bad pie war as pie wars go
It was fine until they started throwing cheesecake! Can you believe it? Man, Catnip was Pissed!
Well – what the hell does it take for people to understand here that I worship cheesecake as a part of my religion? Geez.
It was blasphemy! BLASPHEMY!
FINALLY! Common Ground.
Ommmmmmm
Welcome Home Booman! Had two serious shouler problems at the same time. After wakeboarding the wrong way and just about yanking my arms from their sockets. Damn its hell getting old…lol.
I finally caved after six months of suffering and they took xrays, mri and all that crap. No damge showed upp at that point. Told me I had arthiritis, bursitis and something else. No vicodin but anti inflamatories and lots of icing. Took almost a year to get back to normal. Now, feel better?
The “Girls” had live male strippers 24 hours a day while you were gone. One hell of a party! Yeeha!
This is what happens when there is no male supervision.
Actually, it looks like they’ve been getting linked all over the place, talked about on MSNBC, as well as operating an illicit Chippendales and abusing the corporate credit card…
Just another day at the pond!
Icing? What kind? Chocolate? Cream cheese? Mmmmm…cream cheese….
Welcome home Boo. Want to hear the whole story about your unlawful detention when you get rested and the effects of the Vikes wear off.
I took vicodin once for a kidney stone. Didn’t do squat for me. I guess it’s something that either works for you or doesn’t.
I already miss Aaron Brown…
Aaron Brown ousted? WTF?
in exchange we get an extra hour of Leslie. woo…
Like we don’t get enough of him already?
Well that is some interesting news there, Aaron Brown gone…I bet we will soon see him on maybe….. MSNBC.
Btw has anyone been talking about the Sadaam and exile story yet,…..haven’t noticed it on the site.
I don’t get MSNBC so I hope he doesn’t end up there.
Which Saddam/exile story?
This one here
I am relieved that you were not seized and rendered.
Rest your shoulder, rest your heart, eat comfort foods with your good arm, tomorrow get your doctor to get you some more Vicodin, don’t drink while you are taking it though, or you will spit up.
Booman. Hope you get to the Doc’s ASAP.
Did anyone else see Jimmy Carter on Larry King tonight. I thought he was awesome. The book he was pushing should be required reading for many of our “Christian” friends. Couldn’t help but smile as I watched and listened to him. Couldn’t help but reflect on the obvious differences between Carter and the current White House resident. We have lost a lot of ground in the last 25 years, and most of that in the last five.
If he is still healthy in 08, he would make a great keynote speaker at the convention, IMHO.
I thought Jimmy Carter did a great job of laying out the negatives of BushCo relative to previous administrations, including the Republican ones.
I’m surprised at how mentally agile Carter was. (Especially after Dan Rather’s rather pitiful performance the other night.)
Welcome back BooMan.

Doug Thompson. At CapitolHillBlue is saying his sources are telling him:
This article, Mr. Thompson calls them “Rants,” can be found here. Or even there.
I cannot vouch for Mr. Thompson on this but he first reported the Bush was placed on anti-depressants only to be poo-poo’ed. The WH never denied it. And now some MSM are starting to report it as well.
Hi booman, glad you made it back safe if not sound, I had one of those rotator injuries years back and it’s a devil that’s for sure.
Hope you feel better soon!!!
thanks, Diane. The vicodin has fully kicked in and I feel a lot better, but it hurts like hell. I am a little drowzy now.
Hi Boo. Never had a rotator cuff injury, so I can’t really offer much more than well-wishes. One of my former student workers had rotator cuff problems a couple years ago – he referred to his right arm as his broken wing during that time. Hopefully something can be done to heal your broken wing as soon as humanly possible.
