(Having once stood on the front lines of the war against women, only to see the same battle fronts form again, I now stand in support of todays women and men who have taken up powerful positions on the front lines. I am left, however, to deal with the rage within, which I can only turn over to the poet.)
Men of a Darker God
deluded religious men
armed with righteous swords
fashioned by cruel and crafted god
in full thrall worship
of power and penis
proudly pursue
control over women
foolish endeavor
proven futile
pack the courts, pass your laws
dream long dreams
of obedient women grateful
eager to do your bidding
there will always be a few
pitiful, pathetic dreamers, you
stupidly arrogant men, to think
women can be stuffed again
into decorative jars
awaiting your caress
before emerging to grant
your every wish
you unleash a power
you will regret
that will emasculate you
leave you alone in the night
with only your own hand
and the thin comfort
of your created, vengeful god

That third stanza kicks some SERIOUS ass, scribe!
to think women can be stuffed again into decorative jars
incredible, powerful image.
They’ll never know what hit them, sister!
Thanks for sharing this today!
We each do what we can…thanks, Bri.
Excellent! Now that’s power.
Thanks for this Scribe, you are an artist.
Music to this novice poets ears! Thank you.
Excellent scribe!! Very nice…
This is excellent, scribe.
Gave me the chills, scribe. A blow against the smug self righteousness of complacent entitlement that makes me want to light candles to Sainte Lorena, and legislate a garbage disposal in every kitchen.
Hardly a novice when it flows so powerfully from the depths of you as this does.
Indeed! Very proud to call you sister.
