This morning, Amy Goodman heads off her top-of-the-show headlines with a quote from Larry Johnson:
Libby Testifies “Superiors” Ordered Leak of Classified Information
New evidence has emerged linking Vice President Dick Cheney to the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame. Investigative journalist Murray Waas has revealed testimony from Lewis “Scooter” Libby – Cheney’s indicted former chief of staff — before a federal grand jury. Libby testified he had been “authorized” by Cheney and other White House “superiors” to disclose classified information to journalists to defend the Bush administration’s use of prewar intelligence in making the case to invade Iraq. Larry Johnson, a former intelligence official and colleague of Plame’s said:“This was not some rogue operation, but was directed at the highest levels, and specifically by Dick Cheney. Libby was definitely a man with a mission, but a man who was given a mission.”
BooMan wrote about the latest revelations, quoting Larry Johnson — who front-pages his stories here — in his story yesterday. And, Amy Goodman’s first segment is “Exclusive Interview: Murray Waas on How Cheney ‘Authorized’ Libby to Leak Classified Information.” (Steven D analyzed Waas’s latest story here yesterday.) … Also an OPEN THREAD! …
I’m already stressed out about going on the radio on Monday. What do people expect me to say?
Relax.
You’ll be fine. Ignore that it’s radio and focus on having a conversation with the host.
What are you supposed to be talking about? And is it for that whole time slot?
He wants to talk about self-censorship on blogs.
Shoot, this week alone could provide an endless source of material, couldn’t it?
Maybe I should have self-censored that? 🙂
I had a response to that — but I won’t say it. Self control IS everything these days!
I was thinking about all those comments I’ve typed out and deleted before posting!
[this space intentionally blank]
On the radio? Where and when? Unless you feel like it would help if you new nobody was listening. I don’t want to put any undo pressure on the Booman.
Monday sometime between 12-2 here.
Great I’ll bookmark remember your people are listening and are behind you. Its all cool.
You’ll be great, Boo. You always are on the phone!
But, it’s smart of you to lower expectations … how Rovian of you!
you are going to pay for making that comparison.
All comparison stops there … I know George Bush, and you’re no George Bush.
This’ll be fun for all of us!
Maybe one of us should post a diary at Daily Kos to alert people! They’ll love it too.
Steven D was right..just concentrate on having conversation with host and I’m sure you’re knowledge and intelligence will come through with flying colors.
Even if you end up thinking you didn’t do well ..hey it’s a beginning and good experience. Noone’s perfect at anything the first time so you have nowhere to go but up.
We’ll all be here on our lily pads ribbitting you on.
Is someone going to record this interview? This is the first I have heard of it. I haven’t been around as much this week due to a heavy work load and company. How did this interview come about? Is it local?
When Jerry was on, they made an archived audio file available shortly after he was finished …
I’d be glad to track their site and let you all know when it’s up.
That would be greatly appreciated Susan. Thank you.
Did anyone here force him/herself to watch the congressional hearing today on Katrina?
I just caught a few minutes of Norm Coleman grilling Brownie? Call me cynical — it’s so unfair to be suspecious of Coleman (snort) — but it seemed like he was attacking Brownie to put all the blame on him.
And not the a–hole who hired Brownie, who was wholly unqualified for the position. IF Brownie had any ethics, he would have never accepted the job, of course, but he was blinded by dollar signs from all the deals he was going to be able to make with FEMA contractors.
Anyway, it’s a huge mess 🙁 But i don’t think this hearing is anything more than a show.
Still listening to Amy– Noam Chomsky on now, debating Palestine with Dershowitz in his no nonsense, flat voice laying out the facts.
Did any of you find that quote about Libby’s judge, Reggie Walton, of any interest (in SteveD’s Waas piece)? I’ve beenholding the article for a while, & thought about typin gout more — it’s not online.
That’s not her show today …
how do you listen? Is FSTV or LINKTV rerunning that debate?
I never listened to that debate.
TYPE UP your story! Sounds fascinating … i know zilch about it. Must check Steven D’s story.
Pacifica Radio’s flagship Berkeley station airs DN! every morning at 10:00 am, PST.
They’re at the end of a fundraising drive today, so they cut the Mary Mapes interview & ran Chomsky instead, which is being offered as a pledege gift. He makes mincemeat of Dershowitz, who repeatedly falls back on lame personal attacks. (They’re also offering Norman Finkelstein’s book, Beyond Chutzpah & a dialogue (? debate?) between him & an ex-Israeli official (didn’t catch the name) which Amy promises to air next week.)

John Ryan review:
Kos has posted a front page diary about PoliPoint Press and the issues with buyblue.org
DailyKos Diary here
Take a read if you will….make your own appropriate decisions.

Thanks so much for posting that link!
That’s just awful. We need that book published. And I use Buy Blue’s site ALL the time to help me decide which affiliates to go with. (Many companies are not yet listed with them, but they’re always adding more.)
We appreciate all the support and use the site has gotten since we went live December 1ish of 2004.
Obviously, as an officer and board member, I can’t comment on the diary or comments.
I just want everyone to have the option of seeing what is being said from as many sources as possible, and Markos has been supportive of the netroorts that formed Buyblue beginning the day after the ’04 election.
In equal time and fairness, any open blog responses from PoliPoint will also have posted links as well.
Just to make it 199% clear to myself: Are you a board member/officer of Buy Blue?
If so, thank you for all of your hard work. It’s an invaluable tool.
If I failed to post this sorry:

Thanks for the thank you!
I signed up for the BuyBlue emails from day one I think..just such a incredibly good idea and thanks to everyone for the wonderful work on keeping BuyBlue updated. Really is great…and an invaluable tool for being a responsible shopper.
Does anyone else get the feeling that the sudden revelation of Cheney’s involvement is intended to try and make the investigation “too hot to handle” and force it to be dropped?
Maybe, but I now know for sure why they got a continuance until after November. This is going to be sweet.
Congrats to Larry Johnson for a fine interview about the above on the Ed Schultz show this PM. Well done.
