Bright red is not a water color. And what’s wrong with a golden brown as a drink color — works for ale, whiskey, scotch — it’s a classic.
But brown would definitely be found in a flower garden 🙂

Tonight – since this is my husband’s Friday… I will make and take a pix of a drink I found on a scrap piece of paper in a paperback I bought at a library charity…
I call it a Calypso Cooler (after a name from a drink that’s like it from Chili’s)
I take a 16 oz Solo cup (clear)
Slice a lime into four, fat wedgies and put ONE in bottom of cup
Squeeze one into cup and store the other
Fill cup with ice
Add about a capfull of grenadine or more iffin’ you want
Add 1.5 – 2 oz of Peach Schnaps
Add 1.5 – 2 oz of Spiced or Coconut or whatever your heart wants – Rum
then top with really good orange juice.
Place a stirrer in it for a tropical touch
Voila. A drink that will last you during a Monty Python flick.

My butt is sore — too much poking and prodding by the doctor. Turns out the infection is good old staph — which I should have known from my previous experience (had a really bad one in my leg 14 years ago). Now on a second antibiotic, on top of the first one; it’s healing but not as fast as she/we would like, so hopefully we’ll zap it once and for all.
Treated myself to some music and stuff afterwards — the doctor’s office is just down the street from Tower Records. Found a CD I’ve been looking all over for; the soundtrack from Dune (the version that starred Kyle MacLachlan). Was an import (disc made in Germany), but actually fairly reasonably priced. Awesome music on that soundtrack…and I can’t believe that it was freaking TOTO that did it!

My son, who adores here, does handle her a bit roughly. He rubs her fur anyway, not just the wrong way. He stomps when he goes to pick her up from a catsnooze. He grabs her and plonks her down on his bed admist a huge pile of books, CD, and beanie babies
and she’s never ever scratched him. Not one time.
She even goes and sleeps with him some nights.
Wouldn’t recommend you bet against her. She spars with raccoons…much to my consternation.

Yeah, that’s the one. I got tangled up with the color block thing, then a few days of low steam output, then got fired up last night. So it’s as ready as it’s going to be.
BTW, I had a shot of ouzo when we went out for a Greek meal tonight, and it went well with the meal. Doubt it would work well for multiple shots, so I’ll reserve the tequila/mescal for that.

WOW — awesome news just in! The spouse called; he was sent over to the transit clinic to get a blood pressure check, to see if getting it done without advance notice helped (by keeping anticipatory stress down), and it worked — it was within DMV limits! So he got the form completed, went to DMV and got the form submitted and certified, and is on his way to his regular division to submit the paperwork. Sooooo, to make a long story short, he will be back to his “real” job and regular schedule probably by Thursday! Means early rising for us, which means I’ll hopefully actually be able to accomplish some stuff around here, and also means we’ll be able to eat dinner earlier which I prefer.
Finally, the spouse’s health crisis du jour is over…now we’ve just got to get through mine…

The docs called him just now and another technician checked the s0rays and they are worried his lung may have a small puncture. He’s going in tomorrow for more x-rays and tests. Why they don’t have him come in now… is beyond me.
