Had a mite too much to drink, but I’m already home, so no worries. As I asked before, are you drunk because the beer was green, or green because the beer was drunk?
I did…called it early on account of all the knuckleheads…amateur night, a good time to be safe at home.
OT…sorta…thanks for the heads up on the Ottawa Jazz Fest. I didn’t know they had one. I’ve been to the Montreal Fest and had a great time, and I haven’t been in Ottawa since @ 1987 +-, would love to get back there…really enjoyed the city.
Keep us up to date as the info becomes available…if I can swing it, maybe we could spend a day or so takin’ pictures. eh?
The Jazz Fest is a huuuuuge deal here in the city, so it’s hard to miss it once they start pumping out the info. For sure, I’ll update.
You know, another online photog (who happens to be in ottawa — but I’ve never met him) suggested a photo walk of the city, but the problem is that I’d be always looking at some tiny little bit of fluff w/ the macro lens instead of walking LOL! I’m not sure what kind of company I’d be — I’d end up being left behind!
PS. I’m going out to the local camera store tomorrow to get a ‘hands on’ feel for the camera… can’t wait!
LOL. A walk-about would be good for you, broaden your horizons, so to speak. :{)
Have fun checking out cameras. See if they’ll let you check a demo out for a couple hours and take your own memory card. That way you could experiment w/ the camera a bit and then look at the results in the system you’ve got set up. Assuming that your exist software would download it, a mystery to me, but if I were looking again I’d probably try to do that. But my Canon is the first dig I’ve ever had.
Are you in the lounge because you’ve finished drinking or are you here because the drinking has finished you?
I enjoyed your earlier diary. I love words and language and the thing I love most is words that describe language itself…chiasmus, spoonerisms, synechdoche, etc…
Anyway, now that the drinkers of young whiskies are gone, it time to do some drinking of the real Irish whiskey –
(notice the 1608, I only drink 400 yr old whiskey, not that young 1780 stuff
Let grasses grow and waters flow in a free and easy way
But give me enough of the fine ould stuff that’s made near Galway Bay
And peelers all from Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim too
We’ll give them the slip and we’ll take a sip of the real old mountain dew
At the foot of the hill, there’s a neat little still, with the smoke curling up to the sky
By the smoke and the smell, you can painly tell, that there’s poteen brewing nearby
For it fills the air with odour rare and betwixt both me and you
When home you stroll, you can take a bowl or a bucket of the mountain dew
Chorus
Now learned men who use the pen, have wrote your praises high
That sweet poteen from Ireland green, distilled from wheat and rye
Throw away your pills, it will cure all ills of pagan, christian or jew
Take off you coat and grease your throat with the real old mountain dew
Hey, I’m no rich man, but I do like to drink the good stuff, when I drink. Also, I buy Bushmill’s in the Huge Bottle, with the handle, so as to keep the cost per drink low… 😉
I’m back. They want us back. So I guess I didn’t suck.
Katie wants me to help out with publicity and operation ideas as they are trying to go back to the San Fran/National mission… embracing VFP and such. New ideas – they like mine.
I was escorted home by a VFP member as they were doing their friday night thing near the train station. So we were going home together and the train up ahead had an accident but we made it home finally.
That was such a strange experience… but they all liked us at the station it seemed. Katie is so sweet and we ended up sitting RIGHT NEXT to each other like two pootie pies 🙂
So… did I suck??? LOL I didn’t get to say hi to anyone but my kids.
But I’ll be back on to do some speaking about new ideas for CodePink as well as how women can get involved with the peace movement and… BUSH.
Katie had all the rally info down pat 🙂 She was – OH NO I didn’t let you speak… I was all – that’s fine by me 🙂
There’s so much to do. I’m glad I can be here to support Katie. What a a night. She and have so many of the same ideas and goals for CP. there’s some backpage political crap you know… and we’re all “fuck that”. Let’s get to work on what CodePink is all about. I spoke with a friend from VFP and he said that we Should totally be together. (some don’t want men marching…) fuck that! CP and VFP go together.
Also we need to instead of just marchers — need to do more of the fun stuff like targeting news stations with flowers and such. They won’t come to us?? We;ll go to them. Lots of ideas and I think Katie and a few of the others needed my back up 🙂
I do hope OMIR got it taped. Wayne didn’t. He was laughing though cause I mentioned the Bush Dictionary must have different meanings in it. I’ll be back on 🙂
They said to keep it a bit “light” to really focus on Eman, the rally, and we’ll come back aand try to explain to WOMEN to get involved and “how” 🙂
I just now got home (10:00). We went out to a Mexican restaurant for St. Patrick’s day. Go figure. (It was my son’s idea. He likes this restaurant, and even had we known where to find a good Irish pub, I’m not sure I would have wanted to be in one today.) (Actually, I do know where to find one, but it’s in Texas. But that’s another story.)
Anyway, Janet, I just checked, and it looks like your program recorded with no readily apparent glitches. I’m going to listen to it in a few mintes to make sure, and if all is well I will put up an MP3 sometime tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Thank you OMIR!!! I was just told by my my “darling” husband that I made an error… that South Dakota is not part of the MidWest as I stated… what I meant was South Dakota AND the Midwest… ACk
It was … different
I would love to hear it!!! I have no real idea of what I said just bits and pieces.
Katie and I were a bit taken aback by how they wanted to talk about Intl Women’s day more.
It’s not? News to me. What is it? I figure if it’s east of Montana and west of Pennsylvania and north of Oklahoma, it’s the Midwest.
I’m listening to the broadcast now. You guys did a fantastic job, but you do have to speak up just a little (or have them turn up your mic). But that’s the sort of thing that comes with experience.
Mexicans are the sons and daughters of the indigenous people of the Americas, and the Irish are the sons and daughters of the indigenous people of what is now called the British Isles.
So by dining in a Mexican restaurant on St. Patrick’s day, you were paying homage to the noble custom of indigenous solidarity. 🙂
Really?? Thank you!!! My geek husband can only say “you were good” 🙂 LOL
Katie had all the dates/info. The interviewer was GREAT but we were a bit intimidated. Our first time talking together like that. But they want us back together – we’ll learn how to feed off each other more. Katies used to speaking by herself 🙂 I think she did great 🙂
Really? I’m so glad!!! Thank you os much SIN!!! 🙂 My headphones were all the way plugged in at first. And then they were giving me the thumbs up sign and that means speak louder –
ACK the lady looked so stern I wouldn’t dare cuss. LOL
They wanted to keep it light, but the programmer wants us to talk next time a bit more about women involvement oand Bush. But some of the things I said had them ROLLLING in the “sound/engineer room” I’d pause each time I saw them high fiving and such…. 🙂
Eman is very brave in being here and they wanted to talk about that and that’s not my “area” so… But I have some great ideas and as I said earlier. Katie and I are going to be joined at the hip and working on changing some things behind the scenes as it’s… BS.
I got some great ideas from the guy with VFP. There’s alot of work ahead. I really feel like I’m here to help Katie and take some of the load off her.
I’ll write a diary. Tomorrow is a hockey game with kids and friends.
OMG!! Wesley and Danni were THRILLED to hear their names. I think it was the first time the interview smiled. LOL A bit intimidating.. but she was really smart and very nice.
Thanks Dada!!! Thanks for all your advice. I didn’t realize the room would be sooooooo dark. Then all these faces would start looking in at us. LOL. They seemed shocked we showed up in pink and dolled up. 🙂
OMG the microphone was HUGE. Katie and I each had our own but we ended up sitting shoulder to shoulder on the corner of the table because… well – we were a pair 🙂
I didn’t get to say Hi to you guys or Slap Shots (hockey) but I did get a hi in to Wesley and Danni 🙂 But I had you all in my heart. You guys kept me beaming.
You guess you didn’t suck?? Oh, come on, Janet – I wasn’t in any place to hear/see you, and I KNOW you didn’t! Keep that high going! Your courage was and is terrific.
Thanks Kidspeak! It was a different medium for me and I think all my friends INCLUDING MY MOM were worried I might say… f**k… or something else. I knew I wouldn’t. 🙂
Just three minutes to go until this unholy holiday is over….. jeez….. if anyone’s awake, I’d like a shot of Jamison…… not in a good mood at all. Too much news….. but I had a nice evening with my sister and her partner, and I gave them a house present of the three stupidest kitchiest ceramic frogs…. it’s so ugly my brother in law is going to put it in the garden… good choice… as what could one do with a collection of tastless ceramic frogs???
Anyone have a wee bit too much to drink tonight?
Careful driving home!
Bueller…Bueller?!
Peace
You might be the only one because I heading to bed.
See everyone tomorrow.
Had a mite too much to drink, but I’m already home, so no worries. As I asked before, are you drunk because the beer was green, or green because the beer was drunk?
Ah yes, an antimetabole to be sure.

Did you have a good night out?
I did…called it early on account of all the knuckleheads…amateur night, a good time to be safe at home.

Is there such a thing as OT in the café? 🙂

Thanks! I’ll have to see what they offer.
And hey, who knows — maybe this new camera w/ all its assorted potential lens goodies will make me want to explore more. 🙂
Are you in the lounge because you’ve finished drinking or are you here because the drinking has finished you?

A full glass for you, my friend!
Gee, this is really decent of you, blueneck… you know I can’t afford stuff like this. Thanks a million… and that’s a GENEROUS looking bottle!
Hey, I’m no rich man, but I do like to drink the good stuff, when I drink. Also, I buy Bushmill’s in the Huge Bottle, with the handle, so as to keep the cost per drink low… 😉
Isn’t drinking the next day called ‘hair of the dog’?
Doesn’t matter. Here in the cafe we got it all, virtual of course.
I’m back. They want us back. So I guess I didn’t suck.

Hey, DJ! Rock on, dear one! Sounds like you’ve taken a step in a very good direction tonight.
‘Course, tonight’s the night even my ISP was drunk & I couldn’t get OL at all ’til just now. What crap!
I’m sincerely hoping Omir can post a link to the recording. If not — I guess we’ll be hearing you again!
Brava, DJ! Glad you made it through.
My mom got to hear. I have to call her.

Hehehehe I’m so amped 🙂
That’s great to hear!
As far as I know, it’s the ‘backpage political crap’ that takes good organizations down. So it seems you’re going in absolutely the right way on that.
Alas, I’ve neither had a nip, a toke or a poke tonight but my head’s about to hit the desk. Time to turn in. See you soon! ((( DJ )))
I just now got home (10:00). We went out to a Mexican restaurant for St. Patrick’s day. Go figure. (It was my son’s idea. Viva Mexico! and Erin go bragh!
Heh. That works for me. And here I just thought I was having a nice night out with my family!
Not that you can’t do both. 🙂
Janet, you were awesome! I was listening with such pride, and you sounded so cool and sure of yourself…just like a pro!

Cripes I don’t even know what I said LOL
I was so impressed that you could say what you meant without swearing!
And, you have a sexxxxy voice, DJ! Woo Hoo!
ACK the lady looked so stern I wouldn’t dare cuss. LOL

Sexy?? LOL that was me must “slower”
I am sorry I could not hear it. (deceased sound card) but I know you knocked ’em dead!
I have read enough of your thoughts to know you could do nothing less. 🙂
I just got in myself, and so I’m with ww and hoping Omir comes and posts his link-y.
Are you going to write a diary? I think you should, once you get a breather… I’d love to hear your DJ-alicious version of events.
Way to go — you’re a star!!!
I got some great ideas from the guy with VFP. There’s alot of work ahead. I really feel like I’m here to help Katie and take some of the load off her.
I’ll write a diary. Tomorrow is a hockey game with kids and friends.

I really hope Omir got it so I can hear it…sexxxxxxy voice…I’d a bet on that.
and Bu sez kewl!
Peace
This is so cool, Janet! You must be so pleased.
Hey there Boran2 🙂 I can see how this could be a really great ally for CodePink. The station was very supportive of us.
You guess you didn’t suck?? Oh, come on, Janet – I wasn’t in any place to hear/see you, and I KNOW you didn’t! Keep that high going! Your courage was and is terrific.
Keep it up, what a great example!

Ahhh… just one minute to go. There… home free.
Nothin’ but lightweights here I see!!!
You’d think there’d be at least one green frog croakin’ in the pond at this hr of the morning on St Pattie’s day.
