One of my friends always swore by keeping a can of cling peaches in the fridge for the next morning. I’m guessing the sugar content was responsible for the anti-hangover effects.
CG I just noticed and went back and changed it, but sometimes when I go back and check I’ve given a 3 instead of a 4. I’ve never given a 3 to anyone that I know of. If you ever see that, how about letting me know.
I took time out of my busy sleeping schedule to post a copy of the broadcast Damnit Janet did yesterday. Now that that’s done, I’m going back to bed for a few hours.
Good Morning all. I hope everyone is ready for a fabulous Saturday. No hangover here since I had coffee last night. LOL Been working on some designs already and have several ideas for more to complete today.
Morning!!!! I don’t even remember the last time I had more than two drinks. LOL The older I have gotten the less I drink because it takes to long to get rid of the hangovers. LOL
It’s morning already?! Seems like I just went to bed. We had a little too much Irish Spirit last night and I feel like I can barely force my eyes open. Thank Glod for the coffee cart. Now if we could only get a Mister Coffee IV drip I’d be feeling fine.
Naw, no decaf here. That’s just a tease. It’s like drinking non-alcoholic beer…which i must admit would have put me in a much less fuzzy frame of mind this morning.
I wouldn’t mind doing yardwork of that was my yard. I’d get a riding mower with a bag attachment and ride around in the sun picking up leaves…and apparently goose poop. Do you have alot of geese that take up residence in your pond?
Awh come on. Feel just a little bit sorry for me. 🙂
I do get out there with a rake though. It’s part of my exercise. Phwettttt. That and cleaning out flower beds and weed eating. God I’m tired just thinking about it.
The lawn mower is actually my brothers and he lets me use it. My nephew when he was young used to love to do the lawn, but he’s a teenager now, and mowing the lawn is just boring.
And we do have geese, a large flock of them, along with a flock of seagulls. They must have gotten blown off the coast by a storm and decided the shore of the catfish pond was better than the beach.
The owner of the pond drives a beat-up old truck around the edges and there’s a gitzmo on the back that shoots cracked corn into the pond to feed the catfish. It’s quite a spectacle: the geese and seagulls try to gooble up the grain before the catfish can. The seagulls try to catch the catfish up on the surface but they are too big for them to pick up. They only manage to wound a few who die later and the buzzards come in and run off the geese and seagulls to claim these prizes. Egrets and herons stop by, too, but the geese complain loudly about them so they don’t stay long.
I don’t know what kind of fish are in there, but it’s a pond inside a neighborhood. Houses ring the pond with their backyards going down to it. It’s all open, so you’ll see people out back fishing and kids and dogs running through the yard. There’s a saying here. If you don’t like kids and dogs, then you need to find another neighborhood.
on Sci-Fi last night? I thought it was fantastic. I even think Christopher Eccleston is a better Doctor than Tom Baker. Heresy, I know. He’s got the same zany, slightly insane quality with sexiness added. Never saw an undercurrent of chemistry between The Doctor and his companion before and that added character depth. Plus there are location shots, high-end costumes/make-up, elegant sets and special effects. O boy!
I saw it last night and I thought it very good. I had watched a little bit of the old series before, but the new one with the special effect and so on looks like it will be a watcher.
My son was telling me about it and I thought it was worth a look. Of course he only told me about it last night. I need to set it up so my TiVo can catch it — it’s the only way I’ll watch anything anymore, both because I can skip through the commercials, and because otherwise I’ll forget it’s on (our lives don’t revolve around what’s on TV, like some people in my family).
WHen I bought it my wife thought it was just one more technological indulgence she was going to have to put up with. Now she hates to watch TV without the TiVo too.
It really does change the way you watch TV. TV suddenly goes from being something where you’re at their mercy as to when you watch, to letting it fit your schedule. Plus, it has other benefits. Our nine-year-old is allowed to watch pretty much anything we TiVo for her, but live TV has to be vetted. She’s OK with this.
Get it while you can, though. As long as the lobbyists are running the government there’s no telling when and whether they’ll ram a law through forcing you to have a TV that’s on the government station, 24 hours a day, with severe penalties for turning it off or watching something else. (I exaggerate only slightly, but like a bad horror movie monster, bills designed to limit or outlaw time- and format-shifting devices like TiVos and iPods pop up on a regular basis and need to be swatted down by alert groups of activists and watchdog groups like the EFF.
There’s plenty of Coffee. Does anyone have a hangover cure?
mmm…bagels…
One of my friends always swore by keeping a can of cling peaches in the fridge for the next morning. I’m guessing the sugar content was responsible for the anti-hangover effects.
Morning CG. I’ve never heard of that one.
She’s the only person I ever heard that from.
Brrr…it’s cold here today. Not going to be fun at lacrosse practice this afternoon if it doesn’t warm up alot.
It’s in the high 40’s here and supposed to get up to the high 50’s today. Our forecast for the next three days is rain. Yippee no yard work!
Sunny and 42 for a high today/tomorrow…not supposed to see the fifties before next weekend.
And last week it was in the 70s. What a letdown!
I know what you mean. Last week we had a day of low 80’s and two days later the high was only high 50’s.
I say this every year, but I’m tired of this flip flopping. I want one season to get here and stay.
CG I just noticed and went back and changed it, but sometimes when I go back and check I’ve given a 3 instead of a 4. I’ve never given a 3 to anyone that I know of. If you ever see that, how about letting me know.
Oh wait, it isn’t 4 in the morning where you are.
I took time out of my busy sleeping schedule to post a copy of the broadcast Damnit Janet did yesterday. Now that that’s done, I’m going back to bed for a few hours.
Share and enjoy.

Thanks Omir. I heard her last night and I thought she was great.
Good Morning all. I hope everyone is ready for a fabulous Saturday. No hangover here since I had coffee last night. LOL Been working on some designs already and have several ideas for more to complete today.
Morning Refinish.
So you were one of the smart ones last night. Good for you.
Morning!!!! I don’t even remember the last time I had more than two drinks. LOL The older I have gotten the less I drink because it takes to long to get rid of the hangovers. LOL
Been there, done that. I decided after it took a couple of days to get back to feeling like myself again it was time to give it up.
It’s morning already?! Seems like I just went to bed. We had a little too much Irish Spirit last night and I feel like I can barely force my eyes open. Thank Glod for the coffee cart. Now if we could only get a Mister Coffee IV drip I’d be feeling fine.
Coffee IV coming up. Obviously you don’t want de-caf. 🙂
Naw, no decaf here. That’s just a tease. It’s like drinking non-alcoholic beer…which i must admit would have put me in a much less fuzzy frame of mind this morning.
I never really saw the point of de-caf or non-alcoholic beer. If you want to fool yourself, drink water and say it’s beer or coffee.
ROTFLMAO!!!! I need one of those on a regular day.
I used to also, but now that I’ve given up my beloved coffee I don’t have any pick me up for the mornings. Well there are Olivia’s picture.
LOL I hope they never tell me to give up coffee. I would hate to see everyone around me suffer. LOL
It wasn’t a pretty site around here when I gave it up.
Fresh off the presses from the backyard. Overcast and expecting rain here.
I wouldn’t mind doing yardwork of that was my yard. I’d get a riding mower with a bag attachment and ride around in the sun picking up leaves…and apparently goose poop. Do you have alot of geese that take up residence in your pond?
Every now and then we have a lot of geese come through, but it’s usually 2 or 3 egrets. At least I think they’re egrets.
I’ve got a riding lawn mower and attachment, but it’s still yard work. Acccckkkkk.
Well, I no longer feel sorry for you about yard work. I was imagining you out there by your lonesome with a little rake and a tarp.
I know two boys who would love to come down there and ride around on that thing pretending it was work. 🙂
Awh come on. Feel just a little bit sorry for me. 🙂
I do get out there with a rake though. It’s part of my exercise. Phwettttt. That and cleaning out flower beds and weed eating. God I’m tired just thinking about it.
You do all that and cook too. Where can I sign Mr. Nature up? He wouldn’t be caught dead with a rake or a frying pan.
It’s one of those, if I don’t nobody will.

I’ve always wanted TiVo and one day I’ll get it. I’ve heard once you got it, there’s no going back to watching regular TV.
WHen I bought it my wife thought it was just one more technological indulgence she was going to have to put up with. Now she hates to watch TV without the TiVo too.

George is whining to go for a walk and I’ve got to get the day started.
Everybody have a good day in the pond.
Not a good picture, but one of the resident squirrels in the backyard.
The Saturday Cafe is open for business — hope everybody did their stretches this morning 🙂
