Now serving German beer, kielbasa and saurkraut.
Ugh…pass the beano. π
Hi Cake. What’s going on.
Not much actually. Watching the man-cub try to reason with his daddy. π Sitting here…listening to The Gladiator…just chillin. π
When my daughters were small it was so much easier. When they got big enough to rationalize with me, I knew I had lost the battle. Good Luck. π
Well, what’s so funny about it is he’s only 2! He’ll grunt and screech his disgust with his father…it’s kinda hilarious from my standpoint. I just gotta hide my face so he can’t see me giggling. lol
My problem was when my daughtes got older and they would say something like, you told us last week we could do this. I would think to try and remember what I told them and they would usually end up getting what they wanted. Enjoy this age while you can.
As soon as they bring up something that you said in the past, it’s all over. I’ve learned that since I can’t remember what I said from one day to the next the best thing to say is “oh well, it’s a new day and now I’m saying XYZ.”
Hah. I don’t have that problem any more.
Hah! That’s cause you’re OLD!
Hah. Thank God.
Just love them BIG Sausages LOL
Refinish I knew it was a mistake to mention kielbasa. π
ROTFLMAO!!!!
Well since I haven’t eaten yet tonight, I’m going to. Be back in a minute.
Just think of the scene with Madeline eating sausage in Blazing Saddles. LOL
Oh wow that was best part of the whole movie! lol That scene is fricking hilarious.
LOL I love that movie!!!
gotta start a fire and fix dinner..looks like I’m cooking out in the rain [changing to snow] again…
Later yawl…don’t do anything I wouldn’t do…which otta give u plenty of leeway.
Peace
Enjoy!!!!
That sounds like an interesting story waiting to be heard. π
Come rain, snow, heat or hail/…dinner must be accomplished. No interesting story, me and the Weber have a system…I grille year ’round, much to my neighbors amusement.
How’d your camera stalking go today…any revelations or epiphanies?
/Peace?
Well, I suppose that’s a good story… π I’ve got a Weber — we’ll have to trade recipes some time.
Re: the camera, no epiphanies b/c I had to postpone the event — We had company, and it threw off the day’s events. So it’s still on my to-do list.
Btw, I checked out the jazz link to posted earlier. Good stuff – thanks!
Hi Olivia and dada. What’s up? Do I dare go read the other cafe?
Did you have good night out?
Yeah — FMan, NDD, and R69 were starting to get up to no good and then thought better of it. π Something to do w/ what you were wearing on your night out and I think Luke’s name popped up. π
I did, thank you.
And I read the “story”. 6 inch pumps. I can’t even imagine the pain.
Yeah, they’re quite something when they get going, aren’t they?
Good to hear that you had a good time tonight.
I’m going to try to get some sleep now. See you tomorrow!
Jus’ funnin’…just like the delivery man/men in the basement.
Which always makes me think of Poe’s story The Cask of Amontillado…Not that you’d ever be vengeful, mind you.
What’d you do this evening?
Peace
OK I’m back, well actually not. I waiting for some food to heat up. As NDD said I don’t know if I’m coming or going.
Should be I’m waiting. I wish we had an edit for comments.
I just thought you were talking southern, LOL
My fingers talk southern, but my mind is more… Who the hell was I kidding. I do talk that way, ya’ll.
LOL I talk southern and type it unless I am working on a project that needs to fit a different audienc./ lol
I’ve heard you speak, remember. You don’t sound nearly as southern as me.
I have years of stage and voice experience. I can control my accent when I want to except if I am really tired or drinking. LOL
Wish I could.
I’ve often thought that we would be surprised by how we all sound when we talk — accent doesn’t come across online … well, except for NDD of course! π
I was in a meeting once chaired by a man from Texas, and he talked so slow lol! I thought he probably had a hard time keeping up with us as we sped through our conversations… π
My husband’s whole family talks really slowly and it drives me crazy. YOu ask a question and they have to chew on it for awhile before answering. He says it’s a southern thing, but I don’t know.
I can see how that would be hard to get used to SN. It really is a different communication style that we all had to adjust to in the meeting — even though we were all speaking English. I can just imagine what they think of you and your fast talking! π
Olivia go over to Diane’s site and she has Refinish and my voices there in podcast. You’ll see.
Thanks FMan!!! How great is that — you do have an accent — and you talk s-l-o-w! Refinish69 talked a bit faster, but you’ve both got the “y’all” thing going on! I think we’ve got a lot of sexy-voiced BTers, starting w/ Janet!!! π
If you’re from down here the ya’ll thing never leaves you. I agree completely about Janet. π
Don’t sell yourself short! π
I’m listening to diane, and shirlstars, and supersoling now …
We need to get all the rest of you on there.
I just realized why you’re always napping — I saw the photo of your yard in one of the older cafes, and it looks huge! π
It is and I nap to not have to go out and do it. That was just the back yard.
Hi everyone. What’s new?
Howdy toni!~!!!!
Howdy back! How have things been here in the old cafe? I’m sure that I’ve missed tons of gossip.
I wasn’t around much the last few days. Just doing my drive by hit and miss. LOL
Oh he was lurking until we decided to do a story about Mary while she was gone. We then decided not to do it because she would kill us when she got back.
No we stopped the story cause noone else was brave enough to add to it. LOL
He does have a point. π
This was probably a wise choice.
As soon as Refinish put maryb in stiletto heels and fishnets I chickened out.
I didn’t even get to the part where she figured out she had forgotten her panties. LOL
See I was being nice and had a stranger mention Luke.
Yes but if they mention Luke they have to mention teh fact he is sleeping with me. LOL
Oh if that doesn’t get Mary going, I don’t know what will.
ROTFLMAO!!!!
I remember during the Mystery Musical Night both of you were fighting over him.
Hello Toni. I’m eating, typing and watching one of my favorite classic movies.
How are you doing?
What movie are you watching?
It’s called The Quiet Man. Before I get jumped on by all the woment in the cafe, I know it’s kind of sexist, but I love see the Irish country side. Have you ever seen it?
I’ve never heard of it. Who is in it?
John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. Here’s a review I found of it:
For me “The Quiet Man” is one of those Hollywood films that makes you feel the world is a wonderful place,
off course it’s not the real ireland but it’s the Ireland we all imagine,
The partnership of Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne is nothing short of magical,
The masterly Director John Fords eye for a good camera composition ensures that
the viewer is treated with almost a sense that every frame is a painting,
ad to this a cast of supporting characters that are full of whimsical charm,
I feel it’s a wonderful film that will continue to stand the test of time, for all time.
It’s a fine movie. It probably has practically nothing to do with the real Ireland, or any Ireland that actually existed anywhere outside of a Hollywood lot, but that doesn’t get in the way of a good story.
I agree but I’ve always liked it. Just like when Goodby Mr. Chip (the original) comes on. It’s an old movie, but I’ll always watch it.
The Quiet Man. It sounds very mysterious. Who’s in it?
Look above.
That’s too much work, FM. π
Sounds good. What station is it on?
Turner Classic Movies.
We wouldn’t jump on you, would we?
If you’ve never seen it, then wait until the last when he taking her back to her brother.
I think the cafe will hold up until Mary gets back.
Everybody have a good night.
Strange day, strange weekend…..third anniversary and all. I read some of the old diaries before Crawford, read my old diaries from before Crawford…..things have changed. As much as it seems like nothing has changed things really really have changed. I really am going to Crawford for Easter, it wasn’t anything that I had planned previously. I said hi to Cindy on a Kos diary and she asked me if I was going to Crawford for Easter and heck, the thought hadn’t even connected with me. Looked at the schedule for my son’s surgery today and realized that I will be in San Antonio with my son for Easter and if his surgery goes as smoothly as the last extension of his back rods, a day in Crawford will be no biggy for him. Then everything just melded together remembering Janets radio debut and keeping the focus on our children. My son was three when his dad left for Iraq….he was four when he came back and then the major back surgery and a fast move two weeks later to Alabama and then house shopping and then more moving into the house and then we all fell down. My husband put his head through a wall, my Vietnam Vet Uncle shot himself, I went to Crawford and then my health crashed shortly after. I try not let my son see the images that RUB puts up, but one day he snuck up on me during the anniversary diaries and he saw. He asked me where the images came from and I told him Iraq and he told me that they had to stop that. I want to take my little boy to Crawford. I want him to be around a large group of people with that goal and need first and foremost. If the most character shaping events happen to us in our first seven years I want to take my little boy to Crawford and I want him to feel what that feeling feels like and I never want him to settle for less for himself and others. Sometimes the bastards can getcha backed up against the wall and have you thinking that you’ll never be able to feel “peace” again, it’s only more lies though and the peace of mind I once had living in my little house in America may not be there right now but it exists when we are all together….so I will go and grow it and someday there will be enough of it that I can bring a sprig of it home and plant it and nurture it and it will come to live in my little house in America again!
“heart” formed during Cindy Sheehan’s Crawford campaign. I will always remember your posts from that time.
You are a brave woman. And I take heart from knowing that during times of personal doubt.
Thank you for being who you are.
I concur, NDD.
Tracy, you’re both amazing and an inspiration. An amazing inspiration, if you will. ’nuff said.
