Well, I’m back from my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. Four days without internet or news, and no political discussions except one: my upper management executive brother (he works for a mid-level telecommunications company) told me that “Iraq sure is messed up.”
Being a Republican stalwart, he told me he’d met Cheney before, and “He’s a really smart guy. I just don’t understand how he goobered it [Iraq] up so badly.” In the interest of family harmony I didn’t tell him what I thought.
I just smiled.
So, what happened while I was out of it?
