I use to call my mom at 12:01 am on her birthday to wish her happy Bday and if I was traveling start by telling her I was in the hospital. LOL I quit doing that after she cussed me out once. LOL
Since the kids were little I would get a ton of bright helium balloons and set them free in the birthday kid’s room while he slept. In the morning they wake up to balloons everywhere. Then of course we inhale the helium and talk like munchkins and then bop each other with them for the rest of the day.
Heading to work now. Time to get showered and go on in. The new tattoo feels like I have a bad sunburn on my left upper arm, but that is too be expected less than 24 hours after having it done.
This is Part 2 of the nonviolent conflict series. Looks like somewhat of a competitive day on the rec list… so if’n you’re feelin’ the urge to help out… don’t restrain yourself.
Thank you, Andi. So I’m assuming you aren’t the one who put out the call for loud noise in the actual text of the cafe? I would think whoever did that wouldn’t want me arriving all grumpy. It wouldn’t be pleasant for any of us.
Nope, not me. I did the first which said “This is an Unhosted Cart.(unless you make so much noise, you wake Izzy up).” So I was reminding people what would happen if they didn’t behave themselves.
Pouring rain again here in Northern CA…looking forward to the San Diego trip…warmer with only a chance of rain. I’ll try not to bring these downpours with me!
Another couple of days of lurking shortly…right after my second cup of coffee.
Today is running around going crazy day — errands and packing mostly. So excited about the weekend trip, with the exception of the actual flight — just a tad nervous. But it’s going to be fun to see all the folks there — wish everyone could be there but we’d need a bigger place. 😉
It’s a pretty morning and the boys are home for spring break. Mr. Nature is planning to take the afternoon off and the three of them are going golfing.
Isabelle has staked out her spot by the window and will be enjoying the sunshine. When she gets overheated she lays on the cool tile for a few moments and then returns to sunbathing. She’s so fat I swear I can smell bacon frying…
That ratio works for me. I watered the planters on the deck and then took a sunshine break and a second cup of coffee. Not to mention a bagel with cream cheese and jam.
While the topic itself is serious, sickening, and any number of other adjectives, the comments are a great way to start out the day with a series of ROTFLMAOs
Hump Day!…tax day actually. Didn’t finish Sunday so today’s the deadline, or my acct. will strangle me…at least he’s got ‘job security’ – Death and Taxes– and all that.
FM, when you’re done my yard could use a litttle spring clean-up…it’s much smaller than yours too…:{)
Thanks…they get a lot of comments…my bro made them from a sketch I did while he was here for a visit…there are 5 of them in the kit and designs for 6 more in the LR. Alas, he’s not doing much glasswork these days.
Omir thinks he may have devised a way to 4 all the comments in a thread automatically. I think he may have mentioned it a bit too soon. The cries of peasure and anticipation have gotten louder and are taking on some sort of warrior chant feel to them.
Look. I usually don’t even talk until noon pacific. You’re simply not allowed to make fun of any spelling or grammatical errors or typos until then. 😉
Well, y’know I’ve been out west, and I’ve seen that finger crossing is major, like, I mean, y’know, major, major, hard work, I mean y’know like it takes just tons of effort to do that, and so I totally understand, like I was trying to cross my fingers once while I was waiting for my friend to meet me in the cafe for breakfast, and like, I mean, y’know I waited for 4 hours, I mean, I like waited, and waited, and drank tons of coffee, and I mean, y’know I waited for hours, and then finally I told the waitperson, “I guess he flaked, and like, y’know, that’s just the way he is, y’know, like spacey, like totally out of it, y’know…” What was it we were talking about?
I’m done for the day. Found this little guy in the flowerbed when I was cleaning it out. He probably measures an inch and a half across. Picked him up and put him in a nice shady place.
Okay, I’m getting sort of sick of seeing those bananas in that cereal. It’s bound to be soggy by now. I’m taking us all to the Froggy Bottom Soda Fountain. Now open.
Today is my brother’s birthday, and he cracked up when I sang him the falsetto version of Hippo Bird-y Two Ewes at 7:15 this morning.
Anybody else have any weird (or not-so-weird) birthday traditions?

Seems the cosmos has decided to align in a weird way for some. I am sending Giant Cyber Hugs to all.
Oh yes and an extra large pot of your favorite beverage. Enjoy the puppy kisses from the cafe hounds including the Diva Dogs to make the day better.

so for ND it’s just got to be great day!

Is that like waiting for Godot? Because if it is I’m going to go take a nap while I wait.
That’s a good move because Izzy is a both a westcoaster and not exactly a morning person.
Okay, I’m up! I heard this weird singing…
So, good morning everyone.
We were trying to be quiet, really. I have great respect for other people’s sleep habits (unlike, for example, maryb’s for mine).

Oh, I knew it wouldn’t be you. You’re too nice for that sort of thing. BTW, if I haven’t said yet, welcome back. Your photos are incredible.
Yup, that’s me — I am as sweet as one of those puppies in sallycat’s picture (wanna buy some swampland in Florida).
And thanks for the compliment on the pics.

SallyCat I think those are the cutes pups I’ve ever seen.
Well besides George of course.

Okay, time to hop in the shower… 🙂
Don’t hop, Cali, it’s slippery in there.

Taking the first break this morning. Ten minutes of work, thirty minute break. I’m just pushing myself too hard.
That ratio works for me. I watered the planters on the deck and then took a sunshine break and a second cup of coffee. Not to mention a bagel with cream cheese and jam.
I’d love to have fresh bagels and cream cheese. Though I’m not willing to make an 80 mile round trip for them.
When I can’t get good bagels I settle for Lender’s frozen plain bagels and toast them. Pretty okay in a pinch.
That’s about the only way I can get them around here. When I go to the city for groceries I usually pick up some fresh, but it’s so far in between.
I’ve been doing flour tortillas throw in the microwave with butter or cheese.
Breaks over and back to work.
new diary up at Big Orange.
I rec every link a BTer provides for Orange.
out OMIR’s comments and a few others’ comments.

love your windows.

I can’t decide if I like the framing, the geometry or the juxtaposition of light and dark best. The combination certainly makes for a great photo.
Peace
Not sure which I like more — the view outside or the actual windows! Lovely dada. 🙂
Wow. You guys are all up really early.
Yeah, it’s only the crack of 1 pm here on the EC… 🙂
You non-westerners really need to learn how to relax a little.
Hi y’all. What is this fournicator that I’ve been reading about? (I’ll assume that it’s not something to improve one’s lovelife.)
Omir thinks he may have devised a way to 4 all the comments in a thread automatically. I think he may have mentioned it a bit too soon. The cries of peasure and anticipation have gotten louder and are taking on some sort of warrior chant feel to them.
Ah, a great advance if it comes to pass. I can understand the cries of “peasure”. 😉
Look. I usually don’t even talk until noon pacific. You’re simply not allowed to make fun of any spelling or grammatical errors or typos until then. 😉
Ahh, to be a laid back westerner. Maybe in my next life. 😉
I’ll totally be, y’know, keeping my fingers crossed for you. Well, I’ll send a good thought anyway (finger crossing is hard work).
Dude. You are so right.
Hey, I lived in Humboldt County on and off for 8-9 years. That would explain it, right?
It’s all clear now.
I opened a new cafe, btw, feel free to stop on by!
Ahh yes…Humboldt County…’splains a lot
Peace

That is so cute!
Izzzzzzzzzyyyyy! Are your eyes fully opened yet?
Yes, they are, but the brain is a lagging.
