I got myself a Costco card last month because these days I’m buying my schadenfreude by the bushel basketful.
There was some speculation over at Big Orange that the guy might be a Democrat, but so what? Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Frisbeetarian, I don’t care. The guy could be the Dalai Lama and if he’s 55 years old and soliciting 14-year-olds for sex they should lock him in a room somewhere and throw away the room.

That is one thing that I have never understood–how people can even wake up, let alone fuction, before noon. Night owl here.
I’m definitely a night owl too (or nighthawk, if you’re to believe the picture up there). I have a job that makes it so I have to be up by 8:00. I think it’s good though, as much as I love sleeping, I hate the time I feel I’m losing by doing so. If that makes any sense.
Yeah, then you always have to run around too keep up with everything. I hate that!

Due to pc here there are really very few of the ole and lina stories I would want to tell online.
I hate to say it, but for a time when I was a kid in eastern Washington North Dakota jokes were all the rage. I can only remember one worth telling now, and maybe even that one isn’t worth telling. You tell me:
Q. Why do ducks fly upside down over North Dakota?
A. Ain’t nothin’ worth s(%*t’n on in North Dakota.
sounded like a good one to me, and one I hadn’t heard before either.
I’d just say the ND jokes are probably some sort of blowback from all the ND folks who moved to Seattle area back in the late 30s, and 40s, and 50s.

Though from my perspective here in MI, the joke about the wind would have to say that MN blows 🙂
Usually it’s something like “Why is North Dakota so windy? Because Montana blows and Minnesota sucks”

Are these constantly created OT threads? If so, that’s pretty damn cool. I wish dKos had a similar feature…the open threads come by few and far, and they’re generally politically related.
Actually, there are several people who share the Froggybottom alias. Through a complex formula known only to them, they start up a new cafe when the old one gets too many comments in it to be easily readable.
It’s a very nice system. We are all passionate and committed and want to effect change, but we can’t do it 24/7/365 without a chance to kick back, relax and think of something other than politics for a while. You’d go crazy.

Very nice. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it over at the zoo. They have a patio out behind the butterfly exhibit where they have several butterfly magnets growing. I’m pretty sure bee balm is one of them, and I think some kind of lavender among others. I’ll have to go to the zoo’s web site to see if they have anything about it. Woodland Park Zoo must have been first in line; their domain is zoo.org
there’s always an FBC, Froggy Bottom Cafe’ (or lounge) whatever in existence somewhere. If there isn’t one on the rec list then go looking for the latest one on the recent list.
And as one long time froggy told me one day, there are no OTs in the FBC. So pretty much any topic goes, except the more serious discussions remain on the regular diaries by general agreement.
We like the FBCs to be the oasis from all that other stuff, for the most part. Brief commments and links to one’s diaries seem to be fine with folks though.

Common, but beautiful things we grow. California poppies and purple “imagination” verbena… they are yearly volunteers for us… we planted them once, and they still reward us.
