Armando and Tacitus (Josh Trevino) launched their new left/right blog called Swords Crossed today. Don’t go visit it until Armando adds BT to the blogroll. Just kidding, I’m sure it is an innocent oversight that he will quickly rectify ;] It should be an essential stop on the blogsurfing merry-go-round. What are some of your favorite stops?

This one, here in my sign line, is really great. π
More terror attacks in Egypt:
I saw on tv that is now supposed to be at least 90 dead.
The number always seems to increase after the initial reports.
is The Carpetbagger Report, Steve Benen’s blog. He writes many varied posts every day, is a sharp and incisive writer and usually keyed into the right stories at the right time. Though Booman had him scooped on a couple of stories last week… so of course my first stop is always BT, since I consider it home. π
Thanks for the heads up, but I think I’ll pass on that one.
Right there with you on that one…
Me too… I don’t read Armando anymore, and my blood pressure’s all the better for it.
Me three. If I wanted to be verbally abused, I’d look up my ex-husband.
I like the idea behind Swords Crossed, but I won’t be doing anything other than stopping by to read it infrequently until pyrrho gets threaded comments working.
Plaid Adder at DU has composed a series called 40 Ways To Support Katrina Survivors and now has a summary diary called 40 Ways To Support Katrina Survivors–All In One Convenient Post! It has EVERYTHING, and focuses on ways to give DIRECTLY to organizations that need help. If you are a gardener, you can check the link to the Botanical gardens and help by sending plants that need replacing, etc.
My favorite charity at the moment is Dillard University. I spoke to an alumna last night who has relocated from New Orleans to Jackson, MS and she indicated that Dillard still need lots of help. She also told me to encourage everyone to give DIRECTLY to the local organizations in New Orleans or on the MS Gulf Coast to ensure that it gets used in the way that you want. She also indicated that she had returned to New Orleans to vote in the recent mayor’s race and was satisfied that the polls and the voting process went smoothly. Her chief concern was for folks who could not get to New Orleans to vote, that the absentee process was complicated and confusing for those without a good education like she got at Dillard.
Please click thru and see if there is a way you would like to help out.

Main stops for me are BooTrib (my Firefox homepage) and Street Prophets, with an occasional foray into dKos. Other frequent stops are AmericaBlog and Pandagon — and lately I’ve been spending a lot of time on hockey boards talking Stanley Cup playoffs…
Is the bombing in Egypt tied to the Bin Laden tape?
Absolutely, http://www.bopnews.com.
The best of the nuts and bolts of our country’s foundation — economics — though I wish it WAS freedom . . . .
BOP is where Bonddad hangs, and the great Stirling Newbery, as well as Ian Welsh from Canada, who gives us a reality check from the darkness that is the US.
