I have an ex who was a Tiny Toons freak, so I know a little about it. I’m a vintage Bugs fan myself — minus all that racist shit from the old days and the big war.
fan of Looney Toones so I watched the Tiny cast for the cameos by Bugs and Co. Although, I am what you would probably consider a muppet freak. Beaker is my favorite.
next door to Disneyland they have a muppet show and those two are up in the balconey talking all sorts of trash. They’re great. Of course, how could anyone forget the Swedish Chef.
I grew up with Warner Brothers cartoons. I remember a moment from my childhood when I couldn’t have been more than 4 or 5. She made me a bowl of wagon wheel pasta with macaroni and cheese sauce — my absolute favorite snack — and in this memory I am sitting in front of the TV with that bowl o’ carbs, watching a Road Runner cartoon.
I also have some very fond memories of cartoon chatacters all but forgotten nowadays — Tooter the Turtle and Mr. Wizard, King Leopold of Bongo Congo and his charge d’affaires Odie Colodie, Milton the Monster, Fearless Fly, Tennessee Tuxedo (with Chumley the walrus and Phineas J. Whoppee), Beanie and Cecil, Go Go Gophers, and of course the one, the only, Underdog.
When Polly’s in trouble, I am not slow,
It’s hip hip hip and away I go!
Some of them are OK. My granddaughter’s favorite is Kim Possible, which has some witty writing, and I get a kick out of Ed, Edd & Eddie for some strange sick twisted perverted reason. Dave the Barbarian reminds me of George of the Jungle. Jimmy Neutron goes in the OK to occasionally pretty funny category, especially where the two sidekick characters (Carl and Sheen) are concerned. But there are a lot of cartoons I just don’t care for; the drawing is crude and grotesque and the humor too juvenile to meet my own admittedly low standard.
But like I say, I don’t get it, but then I’m over 50 so as far as I can tell I’m not supposed to get it.
I wanna be on your Christmas list… π Still got to get up to their bigger location in Polk Gulch; I’ve mailordered but never visited in person — though I came thisclose to actually applying for a job there (not in the store, doing order entry for the mailorder side).
Thanks to all for the good thoughts. I may also have a bit of a hangover from Chinese food last night; almost wondering if I have some sort of sensitivity to the stuff in it (other than the massive sodium — I’ve been chugging down water most of the night to flush out the system). Add to list of things to mention to the doctor next month at my physical. Will try for a better day tomorrow…
Olivia — we didn’t even get to the cemetary on Sunday as planned; spouse decided it would be too tough on me (he’s pretty sensitive to that sort of thing). Might try for later in the week — I’m pretty sure my aunt went out there on Sunday, since she lives not too far from there. Oh, spouse and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary at the Sharks playoff game — decided to get the tickets even at $129 each (eeep!); hell, this way we’re not bringing more useless crap in the apartment. π
Going to watch Jay Leno (hey, it’s “Headlines” night), then head for bed…
… are looking really good Cali. Cheechoo is unbelievable … The best part about p-offs, is that we finally get to see the western teams play. Good night!
hang the dingleberry garland! (from Son of Stimpy in case you didn’t guess….
Indy, I love ya! Anyone who’s a Ren and Stimpy fan is a friend of mine! My hubby gave me the 1st Season DVD set for Xmas and we’ve spent many hours laughing our asses off with it.
Do you have any of the toys? I’m especially fond of my farting Stimpy doll, which I used to keep in my office when I was teaching so that students with “issues” could get it all out (so to speak) when they were upset.
I also have the Space Madness Ren in the bathtub toy… he spits and farts in the tub… so much fun, even for this old fart… LOL.
Why does it not surprise me in the least to learn that all of the lounge amphibians have excellent and warped taste in animation? lol. You guys are awesome.
You can’t imagine how warped we can get… it must be why we’ve been together for going on 9 years now! Nobody else would have me!!! LOL.
That sounded dirty, and it shouldn’t have… we’re actually very nice people. I just have this strange proclivity for the pathologically funny, that’s all.
Ever see Happy Tree Friends? Now that’s twisted stuff!
A fond goodnight to you too, Indy! aks yer momma how she durrin! and get yourself some Shirley Q. Liquor!
I didn’t pay much attention at the time, but I seem to remember from my time in the Middle East that they pass around the . . . um, thingy. I’m not sure about that, though.
I am pretty sure, however, that I should go find my own thingy.
Sorry I’ve not been by much lately Manny, but work has been suckin the life outta me. I’ll check in the morning and hope you’ve passed the big point, otherwise I’ll go back!
I’ve only been posting one entry a day lately, and I take the weekends off as a personal rule. Today I went alittle wild with several posts but I’m still trying to strike a balance. Such is the life of a blogger π
One last hit on the hookah. Now that I’m finished knocking the snow off, Bu decided it was safe to go out. I dumped a bunch on her once and she didn’t like it…hasn’t forgotten it either.
Ok, this has been way too much fun tonight, and damn getting to bed earlier! There’s rain imminent here, so off to bed go I to hear the rain come down and bless our humble garden.
Big HUGs to all my fellow frogsters, and I hope I don’t have to name names, cuz you know who you are. But I do want to send a loud champagne cork Manny’s way, just because he and Bud are so cool.
And Olivia, well, you know how much I value your photography and garden insights… or you should.
Eeek, I’m making like a spruce tree and getting all sappy. You guys are the best… so until next we meet by the ole smelly arum plant, a fond good night!
who may be interested in a less lung-intensive buzz.
JOY!
Now I can enjoy the hookah, as the good FSM intended. Ahh.
I miss Ren & Stimpy.
The first season of that show was sheer genius.
I agree completely. It was like a filthy, dirty animated equivalent to Calvin & Hobbes.
I love cartoons. In high school one of my friends referred to me as “Sneezer” due to my violent achoos (Tiny Toons, if you didn’t get the reference)
I have an ex who was a Tiny Toons freak, so I know a little about it. I’m a vintage Bugs fan myself — minus all that racist shit from the old days and the big war.

I’m an Animal fan myself.
“AAAAAAAAA! EAT DRUM! EAT DRUM!”
“No, no, Animal, you don’t EAT the drum, you’re supposed to BEAT the drum!”
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
“Hey Animal, how old are you?” (he pounds his head against the tomtom four times)
I loved The Muppet Show. My faves, even as a little kid, were Statler & Waldorf, the old wise-ass cranks up in the balcony.
next door to Disneyland they have a muppet show and those two are up in the balconey talking all sorts of trash. They’re great. Of course, how could anyone forget the Swedish Chef.
Yeah, Statler and Waldorf are one of the best parts of Muppets 3-D.
“Hey, I just got a new hearing aid.”
“How do you like it?”
“WHAT?”
“I SAID HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?”
“Oh, it’s fine.”
“What kind is it?”
“WHAT?”
“I SAID WHAT KIND IS IT?”
(looks at his watch) “About eight thirty”

They just don’t make ’em like that anymore.
I can barely watch the modern cartoons. I grew up on Looney Toones and the Hanna-Barbera crew of characters.

I like Avatar: The Last Airbender, but it’s about the only anime series I watch. It actually has characters, plot and a continuing story line.
excellent!
Some of the stuff I found was hilarious, such as old receipts. What, not everyone gives gift certificates to Good Vibes for Christmas?
that I had to google Good Vibes lol? But! I redeem myself by assuming it had to be something along those lines …
More importantly, how do I get on your christmas gift list! π

Which one of you is the Happy Hookah?
That was so bad it was good.
I’ll have whatever he’s having!
His hookah has only one … uh, thingy? I have found him to be a bogart.
I didn’t pay much attention at the time, but I seem to remember from my time in the Middle East that they pass around the . . . um, thingy. I’m not sure about that, though.
I am pretty sure, however, that I should go find my own thingy.
Wait, that came out wrong . . .
Evidence that their customs are not so different than our own.
PS: Best of luck finding your own…uh, thingy π
OK, I’m off to bed now.
Have a great night, and I’ll talk to you all soon.
don’t forget to stop by for a morning piece of cheesecake and some bubbly champagne. Breakfast o’ champs!
G’night, ejmw.
I gotta hit it, too, I haven’t even had dinner yet. Time for some cabinet grazing. See y’all later in the week. Be good to each other.
glad you’re getting everything sorted out before the big move.
doing the trick to calm me down.
9972 hits and counting down!!!!!
(my blog traffic, for those of you lurking and have no clue what I’m yammering about)

Sorry it didn’t happen Manny — 9974. Will have to check in in the morning. π
Sweet dreams to you and Bud!
and get another ‘snow shower’…Bu thinks I’m nuts…then to bed.
Congrats on 10K Manny!
Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do…which should give ya plenty of room to work…Night all.
Peace
don’t get pollenbite out there π
The GWG was scored by Sakic — tipped Liles’ shot. Just saw it on the sports highlights… π
0-2 going out on the road — I give Dallas more of a shot at coming back than Carolina though…
BRRRRRRRRRR!
One last hit on the hookah. Now that I’m finished knocking the snow off, Bu decided it was safe to go out. I dumped a bunch on her once and she didn’t like it…hasn’t forgotten it either.
Thanks for the info on Sakic.
Peace
Night Olivia! Don’t dream of the arums… think hyacinths instead!
Take her in now and snuggle… I’m heading off to do that with Pepa right now…
peace
You can get anything you want, at Alice’s Restaurant

I guess it’s time to power-down myself. Cya on the flip.
