I don’t think I have any meetings today but will ahve to check my calender several times. LOL If no meetings, I will come home and do some emails for some campaigns, a new dairy for my blog and try and some new designs. LOL
Wow, 7:44 EDT, and you’ve already expended today’s energy allotment. Who will do the yard work?
We’re already done all the homework that didn’t get done last night because someone was too busy WINNING a lacrosse game…Now we have to feed the chickens and make breakfast. Exciting stuff here at Chez Cabin, I know.
And besides seeing a sunrise, I heard mourning doves, robins, redwing blackbirds, bobolinks, crows, ducks, geese, woodpeckers, and a few others I don’t know yet. ‘Twas a regular symphony.
And it looks like another day of 65F, sunny and no wind.
Well, the time has come for me to get ready for work. I hope everyone has a fabulous day!!!!! Take care and I will check in again this evening. I will try and check in from work but that usually doesn’t work well. LOL
Actually no. I didn’t get into early rising until my late 20’s. Had a lot to do with working in an office. I could get a lot more done with no one around and after quitting time I hated to stay.
Had a boss tell me that I didn’t really put in any overtime, because I came in early and it was undertime. So it didn’t count.
Weddings can be such stressful times — both happy and stressful!
My day will probably not be slackerly — unfortunately — a piece I’m writing for a report is due tomorrow so I’ve got to get that done today…
I better get going. Will you be doing the cafes today? I’ll check in later on… Have a good day FM and good luck w/ the yard — You should just do it as soon as you can and then it’s out of the way and you’ll have the rest of the day to nap! 🙂
Decided to get out of bed nice and early for a bit — now I’m trying to talk myself out of going back to bed. (And I know you’ll be no help, FM…) Trying to get my body clock reset to normal time, and it’s not easy.
Looking forward to the Sharks game tonight. (And if DJ makes it in, she needs to check her email…)
One of the “widgets” (little mini-programs) I have on the iMac is the Daily Doonesbury in color…man, the strip is intense this week. I wish Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and everyone else in this misAdministration was reading it…
Off to go cruise the headlines for the News Bucket…back in a bit…
Got your email and thanks for picking up the Cheechoo whistles for the kids 🙂 Hella Cool! Have fun tonight! I’ll be flipping out at home watching. Hard to be so quiet in an aprt during playoffs LOL
Hope you get to see Mrs. Ski tonight and some other Slap Shotters. ((((Cali)))) and if you see Joe… well, you know. Tell him GO JOE MOJO! for me 🙂
I sometimes get crashy issues with Firefox when I have too many tabs open and I use the “Edit-Find in this Page” option — which I use all the time here, because I set it to find [new, and that lets me quickly search long threads for new posts. To avoid losing whatever I’m working on, I usually just keep WordPad open and type drafts in there.
do my main composing in TextEdit, then copy and paste — though it’s not text only based; I really miss SimpleText for basic writing where I don’t need a lot of styles and whistles/bells.
NotePad on Windoze would probably be a decent alternative; I used to use NotePad for hard-coding HTML when I was taking a class in the subject. Plus, you can save your work on your computer if you ever need to go back and refer to something quickly — I’ve started making a note regarding posting date/location on the infrequent diaries I keep…
Plans are underway for the CP demonstration which our portion will begin May 12 with our appt. Kinda nervous but it’ll be okay.
This Friday’s rally/march will begin with Amnesty Intl speaking. Very cool!
And I’ll try to keep hockey happiness to a minimum. Sorry. We were locked out last season and it’s just so nice to have something too cheer about and divert so much anger, pain and anxiety. Plus… hockey has brought so many wonderful friends into me and my kids world. I’ve found family with my hockey pals. Kinda like here. So if I go off the deep end, please know I’m doing it to annoy or to convert… I’m just happy. It’s a side of me.
I had fun though edumacating Family Man and sharing happiness with Olivia, Cali and Dada (yay for avs last night!!!! OT victory. Sweep em for us)
It’s just one of my few treasured passions that aren’t related to autism or politics … or drinking… 🙂 where I can let my soul and inner child run free. 🙂
I had fun razzing with you Family Man 🙂 Hockey is a very key part of this family’s life.
I have no clue about iPods or those tune thingies you all do… but I’m thinking an iPod would be a good thing for Wesley. He wouldn’t have to lug his CDs around ya know and it’s smaller and compact.
I turned an elderly woman onto hockey she was in her 70’s. She heaerd me talk about it at a store I worked at and got interested. Went to a game and was hooked. Her and I would talk about college hockey and the Olympics 🙂 It’s never too late to find a new hockey friend.
Gotta go look at houses..
Like that new vacuum I found for you the other thread?? 🙂 Saw that and thought – that’s SO Family Man 🙂
We have one of these, and I will never use a regular vacuum again. It was expensive but Roomie kept killing the vacuum cleaners (don’t even ask, because I don’t know how the hell she was doing it, but she’s not allowed to use this one), so in another year or so it will actually start to be worth what she paid for it.
The portable mp3 players are awesome, whether you go iPod or something else. If you guys get him one with a enough memory, he can have his entire music collection with him everywhere he goes. I absolutely love mine. You might want him to test-rock-out to one before you buy to make sure he likes the way it outputs sound, because ime they all sound a little different each to each, and he may be more sensitive to that than other people are.
But they are very easy to use, the software is all pretty straightforward. It’s a little time consuming to rip all your CDs up to hard drive, but once it’s done, it’s done. Adding a new one from time to time is quick and easy.
Hi Indy. I agree they are pretty easy to use, and about ripping all your music to computer. I found the CDs were just time consuming. Ripping my albums was an adventure though.
allows a parent (or other person) to set a maximum allowed volume level on the iPod, so no matter how much you crank up the volume control, it won’t go above a certain level. (Of course, it took Apple to get sued before they came up with the idea, but better late than never…)
If you do get one for Wes, make sure he knows there are appropriate times to use it and times he shouldn’t; not during class, and probably limit non-classtime as well so he doesn’t isolate. (Though from what it sounds like, that’s not a problem for “Mr. Popularity”. ;))
Got your email — will stop at the Longs Mailing Center on the way out to the game. Eeep…got to get my turtleneck washed to wear under my T-shirt; that arena can get chilly!
I’ve got to get back to the lawn. Actually weedeating. I hate that job more than anything. I took a break because the line would keep breaking, I would rewind, line break/rewind. Arrrgggg.
marmots. They plant little steel posts the height of golf tees that’ll snap off the lines of weedeaters that threaten to cross the borders of their colonies.
Morning Andi!!!! and Good Morning to all my froggies!!!!!
Good morning. And what’s on your undoubtedly busy schedule today?
LOL!!!! Just finished a new podcast this am.
I Really Hate Stupid People
I don’t think I have any meetings today but will ahve to check my calender several times. LOL If no meetings, I will come home and do some emails for some campaigns, a new dairy for my blog and try and some new designs. LOL
What are your plans today?
I went over to your podcast and clicked on it 3 times, but nothing happens.
BTW do you ever sleep. I saw the time on the podcast post and man, you must go 24/7.
Good Morning Everyone.
Feel all bright-eyed today?
Not yet, but will be. You looking forward to another wonderful day?
Oh most assuredly (‘hear’ whatever tone of voice suits your mood).
And speaking of that, I need to go get ready for it.
See you tonight.
See ya tonight. Have the best day, er, possible. 🙂
I hear the wonderful sarcasm all the way here in Texas. LOL
Morning FamilyMan!!!!
Morning Refinish. I saw up thread you have no meetings. Well I would give you some suggestions on what to do with your free time, but…..
OK, I will anyway – slack.
LOL You know I only do that about once a quater. LOL
Well once ever quarter of an hour isn’t bad, but it’s still not world class.
LOL I meant once every three months. LOL
My sense of time is not that far into the future.
Slackdom waits for no man.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Later folks!!!!!
Where in tarnacion is the rest of the gang, don’t they know the early bird beat the robin to the worm?
LOL Morning!!! They are sleeping in so they can be the late nighters who get the last drink.
with that “I survived the bush… so far” logo on it?
Yes I do.
I SURVIVED THE BUSH REGIME Black T-Shirt
Great!!
Morning NDD. Most are probably dreaming about the early bird at the moment.
HOCKEY FAN! I didn’t know they had hockey down there in the banana belt.
Rumor only. I’m still trying to figure out how to get all the ice cubes together to make a rink in the back yard.
What is this this morning, the boys’ club?
How are you, NDD?
Morning CG. If it was the boys club, it isn’t anymore, because CG is in the building. Yah Hoo.
OK that’s about as much energy as I expect to expend today.
How’re ya doing today?
Wow, 7:44 EDT, and you’ve already expended today’s energy allotment. Who will do the yard work?
We’re already done all the homework that didn’t get done last night because someone was too busy WINNING a lacrosse game…Now we have to feed the chickens and make breakfast. Exciting stuff here at Chez Cabin, I know.
Actually it sounds pretty nice.
Yard Work? A burst of energy might hit me. I’ll just nap until it does.
fine!
How goes it for you?
Another nice sunny day, but chilly this morning. I’ve had woodpeckers, jays, robins, and nuthatches this morning.
Well, the time has come for me to get ready for work. I hope everyone has a fabulous day!!!!! Take care and I will check in again this evening. I will try and check in from work but that usually doesn’t work well. LOL
Have a good day at work Refinish.
Thanks, I think I will. Even looks like there might be nice sunrise on the way.
You have a great day at work too. And I’ll catch up with you later this evening.
back soon.
Enjoy.
and I bet you were an early riser back in your farming days too?
Actually no. I didn’t get into early rising until my late 20’s. Had a lot to do with working in an office. I could get a lot more done with no one around and after quitting time I hated to stay.
Had a boss tell me that I didn’t really put in any overtime, because I came in early and it was undertime. So it didn’t count.
I’m still trying to figure that one out.
A ha — I got up early enough to catch some of you still here! Hope you all have a great day! :~)
Morning Olivia. Hope you have a great day too.
… to prepare for the w/e?
A little bit. I’ve got to get the yard done and finish the house. Other than that, I just show up for the wedding, then on to the reception.
Tomorrow I’ve got to go and take some pictures of all the preparations.
Have you got a quiet, slackerly day planned at work?
Weddings can be such stressful times — both happy and stressful!
My day will probably not be slackerly — unfortunately — a piece I’m writing for a report is due tomorrow so I’ve got to get that done today…
I better get going. Will you be doing the cafes today? I’ll check in later on… Have a good day FM and good luck w/ the yard — You should just do it as soon as you can and then it’s out of the way and you’ll have the rest of the day to nap! 🙂
You have a good day, and don’t work to hard.
Yep, today is my day for cafes.
Get it done ASAP. Not in the slackers code.
Decided to get out of bed nice and early for a bit — now I’m trying to talk myself out of going back to bed. (And I know you’ll be no help, FM…) Trying to get my body clock reset to normal time, and it’s not easy.

Morning Cali. Me, no help with getting up early? Me?
It’s hard to get the body clock reset. Fight it, you can do it, and I’ll help.
Uhhh, after nap time.
Tell him GO JOE MOJO! for me 🙂
As much as I hate to, I’ve got to start the lawn. I’ll keep checking back to see if a new cafe needs to be put up.
Lawn work is not in the slackers handbook.
My firefox just crashed taking an hours worth of writing with it. Very annoying.
Never write in the browser unless you’re doing a quick cut and paste job. Use something with auto-save.
Some of the dedicated writing tools are great.
yeah. this is the second time this has happened in all my time blogging. Once was a fluke, twice requires preventative steps.
Breaktime.
Sorry to hear that Booman.
If you were on a Mac I’d suggest CopyWrite, which is great. I’m not sure about Windows equivalents though.
And full screen mode is a delight when you’re writing.
i use a PC. You know, both times it was caused by trying to open an MSNBC/Newsweek file in cache mode.
I sometimes get crashy issues with Firefox when I have too many tabs open and I use the “Edit-Find in this Page” option — which I use all the time here, because I set it to find [new, and that lets me quickly search long threads for new posts. Shh… go sharks!
I meant – I’m not doing it to annoy. LOL
It’s just one of my few treasured passions that aren’t related to autism or politics … or drinking… 🙂 where I can let my soul and inner child run free. 🙂
Hi Janet. Don’t you dare keep hockey out of anything. My education continues.
Been trying to figure out how I can take some tin roofing off the barn and fashion it into skates that will go on the bottom of my tennis shoes.
So… live, learn, laugh and love 🙂
I like hearing about hockey. The way all of you describe it, makes it more than what I used to think. It gives me more of a feel for the game.
I also think the IPod for Wesley would be a great idea.
I turned an elderly woman onto hockey she was in her 70’s. She heaerd me talk about it at a store I worked at and got interested. Went to a game and was hooked. Her and I would talk about college hockey and the Olympics 🙂 It’s never too late to find a new hockey friend.

I’ll keep checking back.
marmots. They plant little steel posts the height of golf tees that’ll snap off the lines of weedeaters that threaten to cross the borders of their colonies.
I knew there had to be a reason. Its taken me all morning to get about 200 feet of weedeating done.
WHAT DOES A PERSON HAVE TO DO TO GET A BEER AROUND HERRE?
One is coming up. Just a minute.
New Café Here
