   Limbaugh Reaches Settlement in Drug Case

   WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Rush Limbaugh reached a settlement with prosecutors Friday in a fraud case involving prescription painkillers, though the conservative radio commentator maintains his innocence.

   Limbaugh turned himself in to authorities about 4 p.m. on a warrant for fraud to conceal information to obtain a prescription, the first charge in the nearly 3-year-old case, said Teri Barbera, a spokeswoman for the state attorney. He was released an hour later on $3,000 bail.

   Limbaugh’s attorney, Roy Black, said his client and prosecutors reached a settlement on a charge of doctor shopping.

   Under the deal, Limbaugh would eventually see the charge dismissed in 18 months if he continues treatment for drug addiction, Black said.

     Fraud???? Why the hell wasn’t he charged with possession and dealing like all the folks he so despises would have been? Zero tolerance and all that good stuff. Ah, silly me — he’s not dark or poor, and this is America.

   He should be required to give up his show for the duration of the recovery program (to help relieve the stress and aid with the recovery) — that would be enough time for him to fade out of the public memory and into the obscurity he deserves.

   Personally, I’d stick him in a Trappist monastery and put him on an eighteen-month vow of silence, but that’s just me… 😉

     There are plenty of Rush wanna-bes that would take care of his show for him while he was in the slammer, hospital or whatever – just as happened last time he went into rehab.  I think this will erode his credibility with the talibaptist set (as a repeat sinner) and with the poor truck-driver working stiffs (How come he goes off and JoJo didn’t?), however.

   It’s nice to look at Rush’s puss on the Booking Blotter,          even though the picture looks like it came out of People and his crime is listed as only “FRAUD-CONCEALED INFO TO OBTAIN PRESCRIPTION,” rather than FRAUD-ONE MILLION LIES ETC.
