May the 4’s be with you
Hello new lounge; good night everybody.
I’d been wondering where you were… did those mudslides make you slide down in your chair and nod off? hehe
Rest well, and see you very soon!
let me know your ETA and I’ll save some stars for ya!
bribe the lurkers.
outdoors. I’m burning mine indoors, about a thumb sized chuck each time. Since I only had one bundle about the size you guys are talking about I’m figuring I’ve got to make it last a while.
Gets pretty potent inside, eh? Will be a good thing for your deck when you get it done, though. Perfume the evening air and it will probably scare away skeeters too.
state bird? Well, we just use shotguns for them, I imagine you’re heard of “skeet” shooting.
I figured you had some high tech loud noise solution to that, lol. These days we just spray the yard with Cutter Bug Free Backyard about once a month and that takes care of the pesky things. That’s as close as we come to pesticides around here, just so you know.
big ones up inside and yer smoke detectors’ll break you of the habit pretty quickly.
And my fire alarm is hooked up to the house alarm — FULL WAILING SIRENS throughout the ductwork, and it is full out panic to shut it off.
I’ve set it off twice just from burning garlic while cooking.
I’ve always thought that I’d probably die of a heart attack waking up to that alarm than any smoke inhalation …
when the power goes off…which it does a number of times every year…and it spooks the hell out of Bu. She’ll come straight to me when it happens and won’t let me out of her sight.
If it’s after bedtime, I have to get up w/ her until they stop, because she won’t come up the stairs…it’s truly terrifying for her.
Do you think the sound (? high pitched) actually hurts her ears?
Mine is like a fire truck siren and b/c it’s in the duct work you cannot escape from it. My kitty darts around panicked trying to get away from the noise, but there’s nowhere to go…
Ewww… burned garlic is awful… I’ve done that a few times making stir fry, and that sure teaches you to pay attention! I shudder just thinking of the smoke and the stench.
The one thing that I am bad for is boiling over milk … now that makes a stinky mess.
bottom of the tea kettle.
When I make coacoa I boil the water and use the mix stuff. Probably getting a whole bunch of red dye #40, or whatever, but sure is a whole lot easier than doing it with milk.
… I think anyways. Creamier and richer and just better. Plus I like to use real cocoa powder and add my own sugar. Don’t like red dye or any other filler stuff. 🙂
Yummmmmm…you won’t be adding sugar. :{)
I think I’ll hang it up for the night too. The ol’ bod could use a little rest after this particular day’s activities. Plus a little more of the same coming up for tomorrow.
So night night to olivia and dada and SK, and NSA, and whoever else be lurking in the lounge.
… might just have to try that d! 🙂 So you don’t mind hot chocolate chocolate?
I like chocolate malts too…it’s the dense choco-candy stuff, ice cream and cakes and icings that I really can’t handle. Very rarely have sweets. I do like french vanilla ice cream w/ maple syrup and cinnamon tho…
I don’t really like icing and super sweet cakes … just got a thing for ice cream really.
(I sent you a short e/m earlier btw. Never sure if I should point it out to you here or not.)
Now we can cause all kinds of mischief…:{)
I’m getting better about checking it, but if it goes a day or two, or if it’s time sensitive, give a shout.
Think I’ll follow the geezers off to bed. Today was fatiguing mentally.
Catch ya on the flip.
Sleep well, my friend.
Peace
We’re sort of used to a little smoke in the house here. ‘Cause up until recently we’ve been mainly heating the place with a barrel, (backup propane furnace and off-peak elect floor heat in basement) but my ins man says his company ain’t too keen on them, so on to a new plan.
I’d like to get a Lopi, but for 1500, I don’t think so. I’ve got a friend lined up to build one for me, same thickness, firebrick, the works, and just the size I want for a few hundred. I’m disinclined to be splitting firewood any more than I have to. So a 12″ by 12″ opening is to my liking.
I think the alarm I’ve got is dead, be a good time to get a fresh one.
this long day has gone on long enough for me, I’m off to bed. Have a good night and I’ll see yawl on the flip.
Buenas noches, Manny! Thx for being the consummate cafe/lounge host as usual! Give Bud some lovin and get rested up well. I myself should be checking out here shortly…
Ya been runnin’ a mighty fine lounge today!
Been a blast as usual, but with the fading and yawning here, I’d better trundle off to bed. Another early morning at work, blecchhhh.
Catch you all on the flip side of dada’s time warp tunnel!
Update re: Part D Penalty–Bipartisan Legislation Introduced
Just popped in to say good night all!
Good night all!
Don’t let the BBs bite. See you in the morning light!
Thanks again for a great birthday!
…I hope you had a wonderful day!
Sleep well.
Peace
I know that just because legislation was introduced, that on one small portion of Part D, that it doesn’t mean that it will pass. But, it is bipartisan, which gives it an added chance. On that note, this thing re: health care is not over by a long shot. I really believe that it will happen (a single payer system) it just hasn’t happenned yet.
And do I ever long to see it. When it passes, it will be one of the happiest days of my life.
