I’d love to see the crowd at this auction:
Trekkies will be setting their phasers to “bid” this fall when Christie’s holds the first official studio auction of memorabilia from all five “Star Trek” television series and 10 movie spinoffs…
Fans and collectors will have a chance to acquire “Star Trek” artifacts ranging from models of the “Starship” USS Enterprise to Capt. James Kirk’s uniform or Capt. Jean-Luc Picard’s jumpsuit in an auction where Christie’s expects to raise more than $3 million.
I’d love to see a Fitz news conference. 😉
Any rumors in that regard?
radio silence. Leopold is looking bad.
JL and Truthout got “Rathered”…it’ll be interesting to see if he ‘outs’ the source(s), or if they try to wait Fitz out…Fitz does march to his own drummer.
Hope springs eternal.
Having dared to out their source, do they have a choice?
So now that Rove hasn’t been indicted in “24 business hours” (ie, 3 days), is Leopold going to out his sources as promised? That was the word at firedoglake earlier this week.
I realize it’s a little early yet (2:32 EST), but I haven’t seen a frogmarch, and i haven’t heard a retraction from JL.
I think the promise was a bad one to make, a bad one to announce and silly news to cover. I don’t know what Leopold’s credibility is, but there are reasons someone could make a prediction in good faith and still have events unfold differently.
Even in fortune-telling, successful prediction of a likely event won’t have clients lining up at the door. Even someone without sources can tell a Rove indictment may be coming. If it turned out to be true, it would prove nothing about Leopold or his sources.
The promise is just weird. To make such a promise is just unprofessional. To cover the promise is just as silly.
Part of the job of a journalist is to make decisions about which sources to trust, and which sources have motives still unknown. Over the course of time, a reputation is built, Judith Miller can’t escape hers. Murray Waas has earned his. (I like Truthout, but I mostly read the archived-articles, so this post isn’t about Leopold.)
Journalism has enough problems without devolving further into farce.
Truthout’s Editor Marc Ash kinda pulling back from Leopold’s piece
The ‘partial apology’ re
“Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators.”
The title alone is awful, unless they had something in hand… it was past tense. No prediction!! “Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators.” WOW.
I’ve been clicking on all the google news headlines regarding Paul separating from Heather. She’s in a wheelchair and he wants to smoke dope. It may cost him $50 to $600 million to divorce her. But, since he’s worth billions and billions it’s all relative, I suppose.
And today I could not resist reading every story on Britney-with-drink-almost-drops-baby. It was water, they say, and when I clicked the enlarged image that’s what it looked like to me. As the shutters snapped, she was heard to remark, “This is why I need a gun.” Um, how would that help?
I’m also starting to use my blog on myspace to publish Weird Anecdotes in case anyone wants to bookmark that page.
“That was much funner than the mechanical bull at the ole waterin’ hole.”

The topic of this thread is a perfect synch with a blog I found just this morning, by accident.
