The world’s most beautiful baby has finally been born.
Thousands of miles from Hollywood but still within easy reach of celebrity hype, Angelina Jolie gave birth to Brad Pitt’s daughter Saturday in Africa, Pitt’s publicist announced.
“The night of May 27, 2006 in Namibia, Africa, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed their daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. No further information is being given,” publicist Cindy Guagenti said in a statement.
Tragically, she added, no photographs were being released. Meanwhile, John Kerry is finally fighting back against the Swift Boaters.
They lied and lied and lied about everything,” Mr. Kerry says in an interview in his Senate office. “How many lies do you get to tell before someone calls you a liar? How many times can you be exposed in America today?
On a slow weekend, which story do you find more compelling?
Did she have natural childbirth — completely without drugs? Was he there to cut the cord? Did the whole family sleep together like a pile of puppies afterwards? Will Jolie get her washboard stomach back? This is the stuff that’s interesting today.
Watching someone fight a battle after losing his war — not so much. Damn! Where was all this stuff in August before the election? What’s the point now when it does not matter?
“…the point now when it does not matter?”
the point… practice, practice… this is now a necessary part of campaigning… Dems better get up to speed and react quicker in future campaigns… phoney attacks are getting worse and the Dems better FIGHT
There is so much to report yet the Media does squat. Why?
This is exactly what I just wrote about in my diary. We cannot turn on TV and Radio and expect anything and are repeatedly lulled into this mindset (except for the moment, the internet). But there is something we can do about it and that’s why I wrote it.
Meanwhile Chris Matthews is talking about Bill Clinton’s penis.
Yeah, but you have to understand, it’s probably the only dick in D.C. that Matthews hasn’t sucked.
And Russert is harping on immigration. This is a right-wing topic, not a left-wing one and it is designed to move Iraq to the side because the President polls better on this issue.
Wake up folks, the right-wing totally dominates the agenda and we just tap dance to the tunes THEY put on the jukebox. Take back the media and you drive your own agenda.
The world’s most beautiful baby has finally been born.
And Gonzalez threatened to resign. That is just about all CNN is covering this morning. Haditha? Did something happen at Haditha? I guess not.
John Kerry is finally fighting back against the Swift Boaters.
How? They killed Kerry years ago, he must have finally become a zombie so he could seek vengeance.
They lied and lied and lied about everything,” Mr. Kerry says in an interview in his Senate office. “How many lies do you get to tell before someone calls you a liar?
Obviously the answer is as many lies as it takes to win an election. Duh. Ahh, it was a rhetorical question, Kerry already knows the answer.
I’m thinking the answer is “Just about as many as the guy you’re lying ABOUT is willing to take before he decides to speak up for himself….”
Okay, maybe two or three more, since it takes a while to get the machinery spun up… give them five even, they’ve got a complaisant press… but dammitall, John, they got away with it because you LET them. It’s too late to bitch about it now. Go back to bed.
Once, back before he married Carrie’s mom, Eddie Fischer found himself on a panel show with playwright and wit George S. Kaufman. Fischer, a young man at the time, proceeded to ask Kaufman some question about his (Fisher’s) love life.
Kaufman said, by way of reply:
And this sums up my position on the Pitt-Jolie infant, or Pitt and Jolie themselves for that matter, better than I ever could.
My weekends may be slow, but a little commentary from Omir never fails to enliven them. I love this one.
Isn’t it a gloriously beautiful day?
It is cloudy, sputtering rain and in the fifties. In short, the sort of day I moved to Seattle for. (Seriously — after nine years of draining Texas heat I have never gotten tired of the weather here.)
And of course seeing your reply makes it that much better, Alice. Would that I could stick around.
that’s a classic. Not a fan of Entertainment Tonight, Omir?
Entertainment news is to news as fast food is to food.
Actually, I shouldn’t have singled Brad and Angelina out. I’m sure there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of entertainers I couldn’t care less about if I had a Ph.D. in indifference from the University of I Don’t Give A Damn. Other than certain names that get shoved in my face whether I like it or not, though (koff**brittney**koffkoff) I couldn’t tell you who they are because . . . well, basically, because I don’t care.
I think Kerry’s remark is more important taken in the context of “Memoria Day Weekend.” Where we remember those soliders who fought for this country and not those who took leave from National Guard Duty 6 months early to goto Harvard Business School.
What happened to the Namibian guy supposedly picking the name? I’m just assuming he’s not the one who chose a Civil War battle. Personally, I like the name Shiloh because I associate it mostly with the gorgeous Peter Himmelman song.
I could give a shit about that fucker Kerry. He spends MONTHS doing NOTHING while they shred his ass, but several months later he FINALLY releases his disputed medical records, and now, finally, he comes out “strongly” against the Swift Boaters. WHY. Because in 2 more years he has to run for the Senate again.
I’m more convince, after this “counter attack”, that he really didn’t want to win in ’04. He wasn’t hungry for it.
Fuck him. I wish he’d go away.
He didn’t want to win. He wanted to get a bunch of money donated to “anti-vote fraud” efforts, which he could then pocket and use for his next Senate campaign. Because, of course, the official Party Line was that there was no vote fraud.
Kerry didn’t run for President in ’04. He ran a year-long fundraiser for his next Senate campaign.
I can’t stand him either and I was a Kerry supporter. Just think of where this country would be now if he HAD spoke up earlier.
My attitude=STFU John!
Personally, I’m pleased to report that I had to read past the title of your post to register who Pitt & Jolie were. Thought at first that they were some DC consulting firm.
Looked a bit further & found myself utterly unmoved.
As for Kerry — nothing to say that hasn’t already been said.
in my brain: “Oh, here we go…”
Wonder if he’ll take Monday off so he won’t have to cover the story…”Countdown” just ain’t the same without him. (He did such a priceless job with the “TomKat” kid that I don’t think he could top it anyway…)
Omir — noticed the rain on the Sun Princess BridgeCam; even though the spouse and I are sailing a different cruiseline, I’ve started looking at the Princess cams to give him a taste of what’s coming up. We’ll be in Seattle in two weeks — hopefully the weather will clear a little bit… 🙂
