May the 4’s be with you
You guys help yourselves to whatever you want. I’m having a shot of Nyquil with a hot toddy chaser.
Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks, rf. I am feeling a bit better since this morning.
Glad you are feeling better. Remember lots of oj and rest and the best cure and of course chicken soup.
I second RF’s suggestion you go for the chicken soup. Or what I sometimes do when I have a cold is get a big bowl of wonton soup from the Chinese place we go to… tons of broth, kind of spicy and makes me feel all better (at least for a while!).
Take care, ya hear?
I do love wonton soup or egg drop soup!!!!
Hey there whirlwind! Nice to see you ‘live’ so to speak… yumm, wonton soup… let’s channel a big batch out Izzy’s way….
LOL with extra peppers to make her sweat and open up the sinuses LOL
For sinus opening, I’d go with Hot & Sour soup.
another bowl for me? Ugh, I knew I should’ve stayed home from work again.
plus you can tell your boss that I said you need to go home and rest so you don’t get worse.
apparently she’s immune to your mother hen mojo, either that or she has enough of it on her own. It’s rough when you find yourself only a year older than her youngest of three.
Have you tried sneezing right into her face?
no wonder I like you so much.
Right back at ya.
I can tell you two things not to do.
1. I had a boss one time that was very short. He sent me out to do a survey and I did it. He starts yelling at me when I got back about going and doing the survey. I got so mad, I got down on both knees and told him, “Look, I’ll get here to your level so you can understand.” Wrong thing to do. π
The other had to do with a much younger boss than me, but I’ll hold of on that one. π
Fell better!!!!
gotta balance out the attack between Andi’s soothing soup for the passive cooties and the “get the F out!” method for the indignant ones.
rather than wontons, but the basic principle still works! Always can count on Andi for the “Jewish penicillin” as one of my cookbooks calls it.
How was your walk today? Shoot anything really cool?
though depending on your outlook on life you might complain because they aren’t soft matzo balls (and that’s all I have to say about that).
It was overcast this morning so no pictures today.
Thanks so much! I feel better just looking at that soup.
I’m sorry you’re still sick and I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks, mary. I really am getting better, just have a hard time shaking things off sometimes. Honestly, it’s too bad this didn’t happen during sweeps week. Now I’m just laying around with nothing to watch.
You didn’t watch Katie’s tearful goodbye (I assume it was a tearful goodbye, I never watch her myself).
Of course not. But I did watch Last Comic Standing last night and now I’m feeling sort of sullied.
that we have plenty of time to dissect the Lost finale.
That would be good. You picked one that I know a little about.
Then again, it was more than 2 days ago, so I might not remember that well. π
Best. Finale. Ever. Although the four-toed statue made me snicker.
I’m not sure I’ll go that far [“She saved the world — a lot”] but I am willing to say that Locke’s ‘I was wrong’ was one of the best moments ever in a finale.
I so wanted Desmond to just hit Locke over the head with something. Also, I’ll be really pissed if Desmond is dead. I just can’t bring myself to believe he is.
I’m just wondering if they’ll really let Michael and Walt go. Can’t really see it happening, but what have they got planned?
Well if Desmond’s right, they didn’t let them go because there’s nowhere to go but I have to admit I kept expecting the boat to blow up.
That’s the exact thought I had.
Oh, I really hope they let them go, but I have a feeling you’re right and they’ll be back. I’m just hoping I’ll never have to hear Michael scream Waaaaalt again.
I’m the same as you on the screaming Waaaaalt. All I know is if they all do get back together, there should be some serious ass kicking of Michael.
Which bring me to what genetics thing are they doing. What ever happened to that big hairy monster, and a host of other questions.
Well, brother, I think you’ll just have to be philosophical about it.
I was a little peeved, though, that we didn’t get to find out more about the ‘others’ before the end of the season.
I know you’re right, I just wasn’t thinking of Desmond like a brother.
For some reason I can’t resist in joining in with a soup picture. I present you with the mighty Nong Shim Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup and a lager. Sadly, this is probably my dinner.
I’ve never even heard of either one. For you it’s a sadly my dinner, for me it would be a new dinning experience. π
The Yuengling isn’t bad. About twenty years ago they replaced all the drinking water in Philadelphia with the stuff and we’ve never looked back. We haven’t really found a way to our feet either, but that’s to be expected. The soup is a little painful, but it won’t kill you.
I’m trying to remember the most awful dried noodle soup I ever had. I bought it in an underground Chinese supermarket not too far from my house and it came with some sort of very stinky fish paste, as well as a bag of dried fish parts and maybe a slug. I’m sure I wrote a story about it at the time, because it was a horrific dining experience, but I can’t find it.
I’ll take the Yuengling Lager… I had their pale ale when I was in Philly back in Jan, and love that stuff!
Would hate to deprive you of your tasty dehydrated soup though, so it’s all yours. heh
I got one open right now.
I’ll have to try blogging and drinking one day. Not sure I could do both at the same time. π
I do it all the time, hehe. Well not all the time, but when hookah time rolls around, it’s hard to resist.
Blogging while drunk. It’s a risky thing to do. I tend to refrain from commenting under those circumstances, but I reserve the right to use drunkeness as an excuse whenever I say something stupid or offensive.
“The only excuse for bad behavior is ‘I was drunk’.
‘I was drunk’ is a polite way of saying ‘I shed my inhibitions and did exactly what I felt like doing, and if you provoke me, I’ll do it again.’ This
gives people fair warning and tells them tactfully to mind their own business.” P.J. O’Rourke, Modern Manners.
Blogging under the influence (BUI) can be trouble, but I’m all for it. If you are anything like me, you’ll wake up and wonder who the hell left all the sappy song lyrics all over your blog, and if it was really a good idea to accuse your state senator of having sex with goats.
I gotta make it back to Philly sometime… but alas, I’m only there for work when I do get there. Your beer sure beats mine… Old Style here, and almost empty. Which means it’s time for me to get out and water the garden!
Enjoy your brew, Booman. You’ve had another tough day.
I were to have a Yuengling in my grasp at the moment, I would miraculously heal.
you get that over on Washington?
Nope. I get it at the little food market next to the Locust Bar.
Not only does it relieve cold/flu symptoms, I’m sure H5N1 doesn’t stand up to it if it has the correct amount of garlic.
Isn’t that dangerous, mixing alcohol and . . . um, alcohol? OK, never mind.
Hey, I’d be more than happy to mix my alcohol with drugs, but there’s a war on.
Remember, kids, alcohol and drugs don’t mix!
Drugs straight ain’t bad, though.
Since I don’t have any kids (unless you count the dogs)!
I just recieved news that a friend of mine’s father passed away. Tommy was a Yellow Dog Democrat and will be missed by all. I did a podcast in his honor.
Farewell Tommy
I’m sorry to hear that.
Thank you.
my sympathy to you and the family.
Thank you Andi!!!
Sorry to hear that Refinish.
Thanks Maryb!!!
I’m very sorry to hear that Refinish.
the bad news, refinish. I’ll listen to the podcast when I get home from the cubicell to listen to your tribute.
Thanks!!!
Still a ways to go till Beer:30. Hope the nyquil works Izzy…it always put me to sleep.
Cleaning out the in box and thought I’d share these:

Enjoy
The millstone calls.

Lol, dada… that’s great! Thx for sharing, o-sage!
I love it!!!!!
Hmm… he does kind of look like Ralph Reed or Ken Mehlman, doesn’t he???
Back in my roleplaying days the Secret Masters of Gaming (who did not exist, but if they did, they would look very much like some of the leading lights in the industry) would give out awards for dubious achievements in gaming, such as one that went to TSR, the people who published Dungeons and Dragons, who once placed a TM symbol on the word “Nazi.” I kid you not. (Their trademark lawyers gave them some very, very weird advice.)
Well, this guy looks like a composite of the various winners of the Wesson Handshake Award.
Hello Everybody.
Izzy & Manny, eat you soup and start feeling better.
IVG, Refinish, dada, andi and Omir, don’t think I missed anybody. How’s everybody doing?
Howdy FamilyMan!!!!!
Hi Refinish. Other than being a Texas whirlwind, how ya been doing?
Pretty good actually. Looking forward to Pride Parade this weekend and the convention next week.
I’m glad to hear that. Remember – Pictures. π
Just butting in here, but are you sure you want RF to take pics of a Pride parade? hehe… not sure what those are like down RF’s way, but they can get a bit, uh wacky at times. π
Sure why not? I’ve never been to one, but they look like a hell of a lot of fun. π
Forgot to add. You or anyone else never butts in.
This is the cafe. I figure in the cafe there’s no such thing. π
FamilyMan you will have to come over to the Austin one next year and march with the Stonewall Democrats. We welcome anyone who wants an inclusive party.
Refinish I would be happy to march with you. Alas my days of going to Texas are over.
I’ll probably have to get out my helmet when I say, Texas was one of the few places I lived in that I didn’t like.
LOL I am not overly fond of Texas myself but I do love Austin.
that Austin isn’t in Texas — it’s surrounded by Texas.
we’re too young? too old? too innocent? too jaded?
You, jaded? Not a chance. Obsidian comes to mind though.
Innocence I hardly expect here, but I was thinking FM’s finely honed Suthun Sensibilities might be uh, oh hell, yeah. Go for the pics, RF! I’ve been duly chastised for my asinine remark, lol.
There’s nothing wrong with looking out for someone. But really, I have been outside the state and even country. π
Thanks IVG.
Was just gently ribbing, my friend. Of course I knew that, lol. My weird sense of humor perhaps needs to go back in the box for a little while today, hehe.
Besides, I have to run soon and get out and water the new plantings before KO comes on at 7:00. Wish I could work in a nap as well, because I’m really pooped from work (again).
I know and don’t even start talking about putting your sense of humor away.
Pooped from work? Just means you aren’t slacking enough. Now slack. π
LOL I doubt I could shock you too much.
all you’d have to do is to answer “Nothing” sometime when I ask “what are you doing this weekend?”
ROTFLMAO!!!! well, I will have to change my life completely for that to happen.
heh. One of my sisters in Chicago used to live in a condo that overlooked Halsted, which is the street the gay pride parade goes down. For about 4 years in a row I was visiting her the same weekend (which was actually kind of a pain, since Halsted was blocked off for the parade). It was quite entertaining.
Although to be entirely truthful I was never sure what some of the outfits had to do with being gay. The hetero people who like to dress up in leather and use whips, chains and handcuffs don’t, to my knowledge, have a parade to show off their outfits. But, as I said, it WAS entertaining.
Not quite as much of that at Austin Pride.
The ones in SF were the best!!!! I miss SF so much and if I win the lottery I am moving back.
LOL I do have to remember to start taking my camera with me. LOL
Andi and FM will be waiting, along with Mary, to see what you can round up. You know what they say about those Texas boys….
I was going to say that we are all expecting ‘great things’ but I don’t want to be the cause of performance anxiety.
That performance will never be on camera. LOL
I know I would love to round up a cowboy of my own. LOL
Doing OK, FM. Busy, but that’s a good thing.
Depends on which side of slackerdom you’re looking from Omir. π
I’m looking from the side that lets me keep a job I enjoy so that when I’m not at this job, I can slack all the more. How’s that? π
Sounds great to me Omir. I think the key point is keeping a joy you enjoy. If you enjoy your work, slacking doesn’t even come into the picture. π
Hi FM, have a good slacker day? I’ve been incredibly unproductive today myself, you’d be proud of me. I justify it by the fact that I’m supposed to be doing my time sheets — but I didn’t even finish that.
Hi Mary. Been slacking on and off. Got the lawn mowed this am. Then it started hitting 97 F, so it was slack time.
I see you have had a slack day. I figure you really deserve it after how hard you’ve been working. π
Well froggies, I’ve got to start dinner.
I’ll check back in a little while.
Are Salad Fingers on the menu tonight? hehe
I’ve got an urgent appointment with the garden hose now, so I’ll check out for a while myself. Then figure out what we can eat tonight. If I don’t see you later, FM, hope your evening is a restful one and give George some lovin…
I was momentarily distracted — I’ll have a fresh cafe up in a minute.
Okay, the brand new cafe is open.
